(Green Team POV)

Kaya was scraping her makeshift bow. She had used her porcupine spikes as arrows so she could target long distance.

She was sitting on the green patch while watching Stacy and Brandon fighting.

She looked over to the right where Cameron was still crying over his friend Gaddy’s injuries.

"So complicated..." She sighed.

Just then, she heard a loud scream from above.

She looked up, and her eyes widened.

She saw Jaster jump out from the forest, and he was holding onto the owl’s leg.

Since evil spirits are naturally stronger than normal ones, the owl was able to withstand Jaster’s weight, though it was struggling.

Kaya got up and shouted at her teammates.

"GUYS, look, that guy is up there!"

Everyone stopped what they were doing and saw Jaster.

Brandon gasped; he looked at Kaya.

"Kaya, shoot him so he can fall off!"

He commanded her.

She grabbed her bow and pointed it towards Jaster. She steadied her shaky hands and let go of the bowstring.

The porcupine spike shot through the sky like a spear and was aimed towards Jaster.

Jaster noticed the incoming spike; he adjusted his body and made it so the spike would hit the evil spirit.

"Hohoho?"

The evil owl could only watch as the spike penetrated through its body and into its chest.

The hole in the chest spewed black blood everywhere.

Jaster and Purple’s faces were covered in it. He spit out the black blood and saw Purple being held in the owl’s mouth.

The spirit’s wings started giving out, and then it slowly dropped into the packed forest.

The owl’s mouth stopped clamping onto the gecko, and Purple fell.

But before it could fall further, Jaster quickly grabbed it with his palm.

Jaster smiled, looking at Purple. The both of them had black blood all over their faces, but they chose to ignore it.

"PURPLE!"

"KRRK!"

Jaster noticed they were gonna fall into the packed forest, so he kissed Purple’s head and gently put it into his jacket.

Jaster was ready to take the hit for Purple. He felt the wind brushing through his face and hair.

He saw that he was gonna fall through the forest leaves. He braced for the crash by closing his eyes.

After only feeling the wind brushing through his face, he was sweating and his heart was palpitating.

Just then, Ivy used her skill.

[ Skill activated ]

Overgrowth Cataclysm — Lv. 1

She commanded a bunch of leaves to gather in one spot, creating a mountain of leaves so Jaster could land safely.

He crashed into the tree and then onto the packed leaf bed that Ivy had made for him.

The leaves scattered all around the forest as he fell, and the evil spirit squished onto the ground.

"JASTER!"

Ivy ran up to him and checked on him,

while Jay slowly walked towards them.

Jaster slowly opened his eyes. He had his hands as extra protection over his pocket so Purple wouldn’t fly out.

He blinked for a bit, then saw Ivy’s figure, crying at the sight of him.

Her tears dropped onto Jaster’s face as he immediately woke up and lifted his head.

His eyes widened, seeing how he managed to survive that fall.

He felt his surroundings and noticed he was sitting on a mountain of leaves.

"Ivy... Did you do this?"

Ivy slowly nodded her head.

Jaster felt something odd in his chest. He wasn’t expecting Ivy to be useful in any way possible.

In fact, he thought that she was deadweight for his team.

But she was the one who saved him. If it weren’t for Ivy, Jaster would’ve been badly injured, just like Gaddy was.

He felt guilty for ever doubting her.

"Thank you, Ivy... Thank you so much."

Jaster leaped to hug Ivy. He always hated physical touch from other people, but just this once—

just this once, he’d make an exception to his own policy.

Ivy was shocked seeing Jaster hug her, but she didn’t complain. She hugged him back while sobbing uncontrollably.

Jay watched the two heartwarming moments with a stoic expression.

He didn’t like how he was being left out by the others.

He clapped his hands hard enough to get Jaster’s attention.

Jay immediately changed his stoic face into a bright smile.

"Jaster.... Buddy, my friend. So glad you’re okay!"

Jaster smiled at Jay.

"Yeah... Thank you, Jay. Also, guys.."

Jaster whipped out the red flag from his jacket.

"Don’t worry, the flag is safe with me!"

Ivy celebrated by clapping, while Jay smirked.

"So..." Jay looked at Jaster.

"What should we do next?"

Ivy also looked at Jaster. He thought for a bit.

"Let’s.. go back to Karina and Reza. I’m pretty sure I sprained my ankle; I won’t make it far with this injury."

Ivy looked at his purple, bruised-up leg and was immediately reminded of something.

"Oh yeah, I think I was also injected with poison by an unknown vine. I think I need Karina to check me too."

The three of them agreed on returning to the cave.

Meanwhile, the state of the Green Team.

Stacy screamed out of frustration; she kicked the big tree hard.

Kaya just watched the girl’s tantrum and rolled her eyes.

"Are you gonna stop now? We have to go find that guy; he must still have the flag!"

Stacy gritted her teeth. She whipped out her whip and slashed through the trunk, visibly creating a slash mark.

The sound of her whipping echoed throughout the forest as she vented her anger on the tree.

"STUPID TREE!" Each whip created a deeper cut in the tree trunk.

"STUPID TEAM!" Brandon could only watch and wait as his girlfriend let out all of her frustration.

"AND STUPID SCHOOL!"

The last slash created a wound so deep in the tree trunk that Brandon had to step in.

"Stop, Stacy!" He grabbed her by her wrist.

"This is pointless; we have to move!"

Stacy screamed at Brandon while pushing him away.

"SHUT UP. DON’T YOU FUCKING DARE TOUCH ME!!"

She looked around at her team.

"WE’VE WAITED FOR SO LONG, ONLY FOR THAT BITCH TO GET AWAY WITH IT!"

She then looked at Kaya and pointed towards her.

"And you! It’s already bad enough that you’re trying to steal my boyfriend, and now you create a huge loss for our team!"

Kaya’s eyebrows raised.

"Excuse me?" She took a step forward while glaring at Stacy.

"How was I supposed to know the future outcome? Wasn’t it your boyfriend who told me to shoot him?"

She pointed towards Brandon, who just laughed while rubbing the back of his head.

Stacy quickly defended her boyfriend by taking a step forward as well.

Both of the girls were now face to face, looking at each other with hatred.

"Don’t you dare talk about him like that." She whipped her whip,

creating a huge sound.

"You’re lucky you’re a girl. If not, I would’ve tortured you so much more than that piggy.."

Kaya stood her ground by not reacting to Stacy’s threat.

Stacy spat on Kaya’s face and pulled her boyfriend into the forest.

"Me and Brandon are going to search for that guy. You bitches can do whatever you want!"

Brandon was gonna say something until Stacy glared at him.

He retreated from speaking and went along with his girl’s plan.

"Kaya! Are you ok?"

Cameron came up to her and handed her a handkerchief.

She accepted it and wiped the spit from her face.

"Thanks, Cameron." Instead of feeling scared or nervous, Kaya smirked at Stacy and Brandon walking away.

"I’ve already planted the seed of doubt in her. We’ll just have to wait to see it bloom!"
