My Skill Bar is Full of Monster Skills-Chapter 276 - 174: What’s Going On Here? (Part 2)
Following her direction, Raine saw inside a nurturing chamber a beautiful Drow woman with gray-purple yet radiant skin, her eyes tightly shut, but still exuding tremendous charm, as she slept.
Her hair was short, silver-white, with bangs straight across her forehead, and extended down to her neck, covering her ears on both sides.
Even with her eyes closed, one could see her deep eye sockets, prominent nose bridge, and thin, reddish lips, carrying a sense of cold allure and aloofness. Yet, her sleeping expression was gentle, exuding a sense of friendliness.
The combination of these slightly conflicting qualities on a beautiful face emitted an astounding attraction.
No wonder Elise, another woman, was so surprised.
"There’s a male dwarf here." Sulfur Vine pointed to the nurturing chamber in front of him and said.
"Over here! This one is empty, Mr. Benest, can we bring Reya and Baron Olsen over now?" Laisa pointed to a chamber and excitedly turned to Benest beside her and said.
Benest, just as excited, quickly walked over. After a brief check, he said, "Great! Leave it to me."
He swiftly took out the positioning crystal that the extraordinary strong person Lunflier gave him and began chanting a spell.
With a flash of blue light, three people suddenly appeared in front of Raine and his group of five.
The woman on the left with a big bow and a voluptuous figure was the long-unseen Reya. Upon seeing Reya’s appearance, Elise immediately ran over and joyfully embraced her.
As for the right side, Baron Olsen was floating, lying in a sleeping state.
Baron Olsen had his eyes shut and looked as if he were in deep sleep.
And the one making this possible was the white-haired elder in a gray mage robe who stood in the middle. His face was kind, with his right hand holding Baron Olsen suspended in mid-air.
"Master Lunflier." Benest was the first to greet politely.
Upon hearing Benest’s address, Raine and the others hurriedly bowed and saluted as well.
"Benest, I didn’t expect you managed to pull it off." Lunflier glanced around, confirmed it was the Mind Flayer’s nurturing chamber, and looked at Benest with appreciation and recognition.
Because even in the eyes of an extraordinary strong person like himself, stealthily infiltrating a Mind Flayer’s nurturing chamber was extremely challenging.
Much less, in just under a month.
When he proposed this method at the time, it was mainly out of sympathy for Baron Olsen and to give Reya, the soon-to-be fatherless daughter, a glimmer of hope.
But unexpectedly, Benest actually pulled it off.
"Actually..." Benest started, attempting to explain, but was interrupted by Lunflier with a wave.
"Benest, open the nurturing chamber lid, I need to place Baron Olsen inside."
"Yes!" This left Benest with no time to explain further, as saving lives was the priority.
"Click~"
As the nurturing chamber, resembling a living creature, was opened, Baron Olsen was laid flat inside. Once closed, Lunflier operated some buttons on the side, and soon the chamber was filled with a pink gas.
"Alright, in about two or three minutes, the Mind Flayer larva will detach itself." Lunflier nodded in satisfaction.
At that moment, Reya hurriedly gave Benest a deep bow, "Mr. Benest, thank you for your help. Once my father wakes up, the Olsen Family will surely..."
"Stop! Master Lunflier, Miss Reya, actually I just helped a little, it was mainly Mr. Raine!" Benest, who wanted to explain earlier, immediately interrupted Reya, pointing at Raine.
Hm?
Upon hearing Benest, both Lunflier and Reya looked at Benest in surprise, then at Raine.
Lunflier, with his vast experience, immediately noticed Raine’s dusty helmet and deduced something. He chuckled warmly, "Young man, is that the Gray Dwarves’ Forbidden Magic Helmet?"
"It’s quite rare, I only happened to see one decades ago."
"Yes, Master Lunflier, you’re very perceptive." Raine responded with a slight bow, respectfully.
From the beginning, Raine had a good impression of Lunflier, as the latter was willing to treat Reya’s father, Baron Olsen, with almost no compensation.
And throughout their meeting, Lunflier had not shown any airs, resembling a kind elderly neighbor or Gandalf from the previous world, making Raine feel good about him.
"This Forbidden Magic Helmet is hard to find, you are...?"
"We three stole it from Dark Furnace City!" Seeing that even the extraordinary strong person was interested in the helmet’s origins, Laisa couldn’t help but point to Raine and Sulfur Vine proudly.
"Dark Furnace City?" Lunflier’s bushy eyebrows rose, revealing more surprise.
As a well-experienced extraordinary strong person, he knew well what Dark Furnace City was.
And Reya looked at Raine and his companions with disbelief.
Though she had never been to the Underdark, nor Dark Furnace City, due to her father Baron Olsen’s situation, she was either caring for him or researching about it, knowing that Dark Furnace City was the main city of the Dark Furnace Clan of the Gray Dwarves.
It was unexpected that Raine and the others risked so much to enter a Gray Dwarven main city to save her father.
"Raine! Thank you so much!"
Touched deeply, Reya’s eyes reddened, and she quickly embraced Raine, giving him a heavy kiss on the cheek.
"Mwah~"
The soft touch of her red lips turned Raine’s face red.
He hadn’t expected Reya would kiss him suddenly.
However, before he could say anything, he saw Reya proceed to hug and kiss both Sulfur Vine and Laisa.
This made Raine realize that Reya wasn’t acting out of romantic feelings but gratitude for what he, Sulfur Vine, and Laisa did for her father, Baron Olsen.
Nonetheless, the first experience of being kissed on the cheek by a woman felt... quite nice.
Meanwhile, Raine didn’t notice Elise’s big eyes blinking at him, focusing on the cheek Reya kissed.
At this moment, Lunflier seemed to sense something, his brows slightly furrowing, and he told everyone:
"Let’s save further pleasantries for later. Once the nurturing chamber opens, the Mind Flayer can immediately sense it."
"If it comes, I will hold it off, and for five minutes, it won’t bother you. But there are others under its command, which you need to intercept."
"Understood!"
"Don’t worry, Master Lunflier!"
"We will do our utmost!"
....
On the other side.
When Knight Captain Weston and Shadow Priest Olist led their group of five into Necromancer Magiller’s lab, everyone had their eyes wide open, looking dumbfounded.
Even Colonel Tessa, who was in stealth mode nearby, couldn’t believe her eyes, her beautiful eyes widening.
Because in front of them stood not only Necromancer Magiller but also three others.
Among them was a person in a red Mage Robe, with a large exposed area of a fair and ample bosom, obviously an eighth or even ninth-level strong person.
Another gave off a dense and repellent air, seemingly also of similar caliber. This one was supposedly the one from earlier intel.
But these two were not the main concern.
What made Weston and Olist appear as if they’d lost their dearest was the bizarre humanoid creature with four squid-like tentacles in the center of the four!
This was the notorious Mind Flayer! 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"Mind... Mind Flayer!" Weston croaked hoarsely.
At that moment, he felt a figurative parade of curses frantically marching through his mind!
What was going on?
Wasn’t the Mind Flayer supposed to be in the core zone?
How was it here in Necromancer Magiller’s quarters?
Great!
Even if it was here, shouldn’t reinforcements in the core zone have reached Raine’s team? How could you not know?
Did you have to block me here?
Amidst a whirlpool of confused thoughts in Weston’s mind, he couldn’t make sense of it!
