My Seven Wives in One Body and Me, her Manager-Chapter 97: New Potential Rival
Dennis and Daisy stood still, staring at Bella without moving, only their hands remaining linked. Suddenly, "clink," the cafe door chime rang again as the door opened. A tall young man, nearly as tall as Dennis, with wolf ears and a wolf tail, a muscular build, and a buzz cut with an earring in his left ear—dressed like a rock singer—approached Bella. He stood beside her and immediately wrapped his arm around her waist.
Then Bella and the young man walked closer to Dennis and Daisy, who stood frozen, glaring sharply at them. Bella whispered to the young man beside her, and he leaned down slightly so she could speak into his ear. The young man nodded along while glancing at Dennis and then shifting his gaze to Daisy. After that, Bella turned back to look at Dennis and Daisy.
"Meet Chris, my boyfriend. We go to the same school," Bella said, introducing Chris, the wolf-eared youth beside her.
"Nice to meet you. You’re Dennis? Bella’s childhood friend, right?" Chris asked, extending his hand.
"That’s right. Nice to meet you, Chris. I’m Dennis, and this is my wife, Daisy," Dennis replied, shaking Chris’s hand while introducing Daisy.
"So... what do you want, Bel?" Daisy asked bluntly.
"Oh, nothing. I just wanted to introduce my new boyfriend. He’s also on my school’s core team, and he was there watching your scrimmage with that girls’ school back then. Once my divorce is finalized, Chris and I are getting married," Bella answered, trying to act casual as if she were just chatting with friends.
"Hmm... I thought you looked familiar. Turns out you’re the one from the third round of the third match, huh? The samurai girl," Chris said, studying Daisy as he recognized her face.
"So you were watching. Good for you," Daisy replied curtly without a smile, pushing up her glasses.
Curious, Dennis used his analyze skill on Chris. Immediately, an interface appeared before his eyes, displaying Chris’s data along with his photo.

Dennis studied Chris after looking at his stats; Chris definitely looked strong and had the air of a martial artist. He also noticed that Chris’s arms seemed long, yet he wasn’t carrying a weapon like Bella and Daisy with their katanas.
Chris, who had seemed relaxed, suddenly—"thud"—attacked Dennis with a lightning-fast claw thrust. Dennis didn’t even flinch, because he caught Chris’s wrist so quickly that the claws, tipped with sharp steel nails, stopped right in front of his face.
Then Chris smiled, but he seemed well-meaning, as if he only wanted to test Dennis. He immediately pulled his hand back as Dennis released his grip on his wrist.
"Sorry for jumping you like that. Turns out you’re strong. I’d be glad to face you in a match someday. Hopefully our schools meet during the city nationals," Chris said with a smile, rubbing the wrist Dennis had just caught.
"Yeah, I’ll be waiting for that challenge," Dennis said, his face expressionless.
"Right on. Thanks. Come on, Bel, let’s head back inside," Chris said, putting his arm around Bella waist.
Dennis glanced at Bella and was surprised to see her standing there stunned, staring at him. She looked as if she couldn’t believe Dennis had caught Chris’s incredibly fast hand and stopped the attack. "Ahem," Bella turned to see Daisy, who faked a cough and gave her a look that seemed to say, "Don’t stare at my husband for too long, even if he is your childhood friend."
Bella let out a sigh, then turned toward Chris and smiled, wrapping her arm around him as she spoke. Dennis, observing Bella, could see that even though she looked refreshed, was wearing makeup again, and was smiling, her eyes looked weary. It was clear she was someone trying way too hard to push aside the problems she was facing, wanting to show both Dennis and Daisy that she was happy or doing well.
Then he glanced once more at Chris, who seemed genuinely sincere about wanting to be with Bella and genuinely loved her, though Dennis didn’t know if Chris knew the truth about Bella’s cheating—the very thing that had led to her divorce from her first husband, Brad.
Dennis just sighed and didn’t want to meddle in Bella’s business, even though he felt a bit of sympathy for Chris, who currently had his arm around Bella’s waist and looked perfectly happy, knowing very little about the woman he was with.
"Come on, babe. See ya, Den, Daisy. Chris and I are heading back," Bella said, turning around.
"Yeah, we’ll take our leave now, Dennis, Daisy," Chris added politely.
"Yeah," Dennis and Daisy replied in unison.
The two of them immediately walked back into the cafe, while Dennis and Daisy turned around to continue their way to the theater. Throughout the walk, they remained silent even as they moved in sync, holding hands. Then Daisy turned to look at Dennis.
"Honey, is it okay if I send my data to that Chris guy?" Daisy asked.
"Huh... what for? Just let it be. Not that I’m defending Bella, but we shouldn’t meddle in her business," Dennis answered, looking over at his wife. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"But that Chris guy seems like an idiot and a simp. He’s exactly the kind of guy Bella is going to betray all over again," Daisy said bluntly.
"That’s his business and his own fault for being an idiot. We don’t need to get involved," Dennis said.
"Fine then," Daisy replied.
"They go to South Emerald Military Academy, right? The same public school as ours, but in the south?" Dennis asked.
"Yep, that’s right. Why do you ask?" Daisy questioned.
"That explains why he brought up the city nationals. Every Emerald Military Academy will be competing, and any private schools that want to join have to register. That means if Chris is on the core team, we’re going to run into him eventually," Dennis answered.
"Hmm... you’re right. Hopefully by then he isn’t an idiot anymore—and hopefully your childhood friend actually loves the guy she’s partnered with this time," Daisy replied while glancing at Dennis.
"Yep. That’s why we’ll just have to wait and see. If that Chris guy loses his focus like Brad did, it’ll be our gain, right?" Dennis replied with a smile.
"Oh, good point. I’ll pray for that then, haha," Daisy joked.
The two of them resumed their casual walk toward the cinema, looking like nothing was wrong. However, inside Daisy’s head—specifically in the council room—the other six Daisies sat around the circular table in the center, looking deep in thought. "Blam!" Number Seven suddenly stood up and slammed her hand on the table.
"Hey, don’t you all go doing anything reckless. Our husband said we shouldn’t get involved, didn’t he?" said Number Seven, who was usually the calm one.
"But we already know, don’t we? That she used our husband as a safety net so she could be free to cheat? What if she does the same thing again?" Number Four asked.
"Exactly. And I don’t want that Chris guy turning out like Brad—being cruel to our husband and us all because of that damn woman," Number Five added.
"I understand... for the sake of justice," Number Three said while nodding along.
"Enough. As long as that Bella doesn’t hurt us or use our husband as her emotional cushion and an excuse for her affairs, we don’t need to do a thing," Number Two stated.
"Yep. This time I agree with Number Two and Number Seven. As long as she doesn’t mess with us, just leave her alone. Even if that Chris guy gets played by Bella, he’s the idiot; it’s not our fault or our husband’s. Discussion over," Number Six said, folding her arms across her chest, propping both feet up on the table, and closing her eyes as she leaned back casually in her chair.
"Everyone please be quiet, we’re trying to watch the movie," Number One’s voice echoed throughout the council room.
"Okay, let’s watch," Numbers Two through Seven replied in unison.
Then, a massive holographic interface screen appeared in the middle of the table, visible from all sides. The six of them immediately prepared to watch the movie they were about to see with Dennis in the theater.
Meanwhile, Dennis and Daisy, having already bought their tickets and some popcorn to snack on, headed inside and looked for the empty seats listed on their tickets. Once they sat down, Daisy immediately kicked her feet up and leaned into Dennis, who wrapped his arm around her.
"Honey, by the way, what are we actually watching?" Dennis asked.
"The Titanic remake. It’s got CGI that should be way better than the ancient version, even though the soundtrack is the same. It’s a three-hour duration because it goes into much more detail with the characters," Daisy answered with a smile, looking truly enthusiastic because she really wanted to see it.
"Oh... okay," Dennis replied. "Perfect. Time to sleep. Goodnight," Dennis muttered in his head, immediately settling into a comfortable position to get ready for a nap.
