Chapter 65: Red Wind Menace

When they stepped into their unit and closed the door, Daisy immediately turned to look at Dennis. She looked furious, but not at him.

"What is up with that guy? He’s one of those Red Wind kids who are supposedly our rivals, right? I don’t like them—I don’t like people like that at all!" Daisy shouted in a rage.

After that, Daisy kept grumbling and ranting without a pause. Her words were like a machine gun, firing in rapid, overlapping bursts. Naturally, Dennis just stayed quiet and didn’t try to calm his wife down. He simply listened and let her pour out everything in her heart until she was finished, so there would be no lingering resentment later on. He was also feeling irritated by the behavior of Sean and his friends from Red Wind, who acted so arrogant, as if the world belonged to them just because they existed in it.

A few moments later, once Daisy had satisfied herself to the point of huffing and puffing and breaking a light sweat, Dennis put his arm around her.

"Forget it. We’ll finish them off if they actually challenge us," Dennis said.

"How can you be so calm? I saw you were angry earlier too," Daisy protested while turning to look at Dennis.

"Hmm... I was just avoiding a conflict. They’re heading to our school to meet Mr. Steve, right? That’s why. I didn’t want us to get caught up in a mess," Dennis said. "I was more afraid you’d just wipe them out in an instant and it would become a whole case... but there’s no way I can say that," Dennis muttered in his heart. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"That’s true... I’ll crush them if we actually end up having a sparring match with them," Daisy said fiercely.

"Yeah, so just calm down for now," Dennis said, stroking Daisy’s cheek with the hand he had wrapped around her.

Daisy turned and immediately hugged Dennis, then kissed him. Naturally, Dennis kissed her back as Daisy began to climb into his lap, but before the kiss could lead to anything else, suddenly "ding...dong," the doorbell rang. Both of them broke the kiss instantly and looked toward the door.

"Who is it?" Daisy asked.

"Hmm... did you order something?" Dennis asked.

"No, did you?" Daisy asked.

"Not really. Let me go open it first," Dennis answered.

"Let’s go together," Daisy replied.

Daisy climbed down from Dennis’s lap, and they both walked to the door as the bell rang once more. Dennis peeked through the peephole and opened the door immediately. It turned out to be Jason and Kimberly; both of their faces looked haggard and flushed, clearly showing they had just gone through something unpleasant. Naturally, Dennis asked right away.

"What’s up, bro? What happened to you?" Dennis asked Jason.

"It’s a long story... can Kimberly and I come in?" Jason asked shortly.

Dennis stepped aside from the door and opened it wide, with Daisy standing right next to him. Jason and Kimberly walked inside and sat down at Dennis’s dining table as if they were in their own home, without waiting to be invited. Dennis and Daisy glanced at each other while closing the door, seeing their two friends acting so strangely. They both noticed that Kimberly’s uniform was a bit dirty. Finally, the two of them sat down across from Jason and Kimberly, who were sitting together.

"Hold on, let me get you some drinks," Daisy said, standing up.

"Don’t bother, Daisy. Jason and I are only staying for a bit," Kimberly said, stopping her.

"Okay then. What actually happened?" Dennis asked.

Jason took a deep breath and exhaled. Then he explained that as he was pulling out of the school motorcycle parking lot—planning to head to work delivering food with Kimberly on the back—they ran into six guys in different uniforms passing by the exit. Since they thought the guys were just passersby, they tried to ride past them, but suddenly one of them kicked Jason’s bike until they crashed to the ground. Then, the six men laughed as they watched Jason and Kimberly fall.

Of course, Jason and Kimberly didn’t just stand there; they helped each other up, pulled off their helmets, and showed their furious faces to the six men. One of the guys, who claimed his name was Sean and was about the same height as Jason, immediately grabbed Kimberly and tried to kiss her. Jason hit him instantly, and a fight broke out. It lasted until Mason happened to come out on his way home and broke them up, then called security. After they were separated, Sean said he recognized Jason and Kimberly and then challenged them with the exact same words he had said to Dennis and Daisy.

Dennis could see that Jason’s cheek was red like he’d been punched and his hair was a mess; he had really gone at it with those six guys. Once Jason and Kimberly finished their story, the room went silent. Daisy got up and walked to the kitchen to get some drinks and a basin of water with a towel to wash their faces. Dennis understood; Daisy’s face, which had been calm at first, had grown darker and darker as she listened to Jason and Kimberly. He knew she was using the excuse of getting drinks to step away and compose herself.

"Who the hell are they, really? Coming to our school and acting like thugs," Kimberly said, seething.

"They’re from Red Wind, the school Ivan, Sasha, and Minji were talking about earlier. They’re the ones who are going to be our opponents. Daisy and I actually ran into them too; they recognized us and challenged us as well," Dennis said.

"Are you serious, dude? They’re from that all-boys private school?" Jason asked, looking up at Dennis.

"Yeah, that guy named Sean said it himself right in front of me and Daisy. I saw the school emblem on his uniform too," Dennis answered.

"This is so messed up. My bike is trashed and in the shop now because they wrecked it during the fight," Jason muttered, looking down in a rage, his fists clenched tight on the table.

"We can’t even work now... they went too far," Kimberly added, seething.

"But are you really okay, Kim?" Dennis asked, turning to look at Kimberly, who looked disheveled and had a dirty uniform.

"I’m fine. Before that psycho could even try to kiss me, Jason already landed a punch right on his face," Kimberly said, her hand trembling as she held Jason’s.

"After we were separated, security kicked them out. It seemed like they had just arrived and hadn’t actually met with Mr. Steve yet, if they really are from Red Wind," Jason muttered.

"Hmm... I see. They really are from Red Wind; that Sean guy said it himself quite clearly," Dennis muttered, sounding certain while lost in thought.

"Hah... no wonder Sasha warned us; she clearly doesn’t like them either," Kimberly said.

"If they actually challenge us and we’re the ones who go out instead of Ivan’s team, I’m more than ready. I’m seriously pissed. I actually want to try talking to Olivia about suing them for the damage to my bike. There are security cameras in front of the parking lot, right? I’m going to try to get the footage," Jason said fiercely, clenching his fists.

"Right on, bro. I’ll help you tomorrow; we’ll handle it together," Dennis replied, nodding in agreement.

"Blam!" Suddenly, Daisy arrived carrying a tray with several glasses, a pitcher of soda, and a basin of water with a towel; she slammed it onto the table. Dennis, Jason, and Kimberly turned to look at Daisy, whose face was flushed and visibly furious. But what shocked Dennis was seeing Daisy’s eyes turn red for a split second before returning to normal.

"Hey... are you Daisy number two?" Dennis asked using telepathy.

"Yeah, sorry husband. I’m going to investigate those six guys and find out exactly who they are since they think they can just act however they want," Daisy number two answered.

"Alright, I understand, but please don’t overdo it," Dennis replied.

"It’s lucky for them that I’m the one who came out, my husband. If it were the others, those six would already be in their graves," Daisy number two said in Dennis’s head.

Then Daisy number two handed glasses of drinks to Jason, Kimberly, Dennis, and one for herself. After that, she placed the basin in front of Jason and Kimberly so they could wash up; Daisy number two even offered to let them both shower, but they declined since they lived in the same dorm apartment, just on a different floor.

From the kitchen, Dennis could see five bats moving quickly, then phasing through the living room window to head outside. It seemed that while she was in the kitchen, Daisy had already instructed her minions to dig up dirt on those six guys from Red Wind, likely because she had heard Jason’s intention to sue them for wrecking his bike.

Dennis could only take a breath. He turned to look at Daisy number two, who was disguised as the primary Daisy, sitting next to him with a calm face; but behind that, it was obvious she was planning something. They went back to chatting with Jason and Kimberly, who were busy cleaning their faces with the towels.
