My Seven Wives in One Body and Me, her Manager-Chapter 33: The Payout and The Beach
After everyone gathered at the dining table, Gary opened his laptop and powered it up. Dennis, Daisy, Jason, Kimberly, and Olivia—all now dressed in casual clothes—waited patiently. Once the computer was up and Gary had typed for a few moments, he turned the screen around to show the others.
Dennis, Daisy, Jason, and Kimberly’s eyes immediately went wide. Gary was showing them his bank statement; a massive amount of money had just been deposited into his account with a memo from the Hunter Guild. Shortly after, another large sum appeared, this time from the station authorities. Both transactions were the payout from their recent battle.
"Wait a second... so those two guys talking to you at the station earlier were...?" Dennis asked.
"Yeah, representatives from the Hunter Guild and the station. Now we’ve got a payout from the Guild and compensation from the station. I’m planning to split the total three ways. Since you and Jason are family with Daisy and Kimberly, I’ll just transfer the shares to the two of you," Gary answered.
"Wow... that’s a lot, man... are you sure about this?" Jason asked, as if he couldn’t believe the amount.
"So, if we become hunters... this is what our income looks like?" Kimberly asked, staring at Gary’s laptop screen.
"Pretty much," Gary replied.
"Hmm... how about you just transfer it to Daisy, man," Dennis said, resting a hand on Daisy’s shoulder.
Hearing Dennis’s words, Daisy immediately whipped her head around to look at him, her face full of questions.
"Huh... why to me? Why not just to our joint account?" Daisy asked.
"Oh... right, good point," Dennis answered.
"Now, about the split. I suggest Dennis and Daisy get a bigger share than the rest of us. So, maybe a 40% - 30% - 30% split. Agreed?" Olivia asked.
"Eh... why like that? Let’s just split it evenly," Dennis replied.
"You’re the one who earned it, man. Because of your shout, everyone got fired up and the enemy was defeated quickly. The other hunters acknowledged it, and the railway staff saw it too," Gary countered.
"I’m fine with it, right babe?" Kimberly said, turning to Jason and leaning back.
"Yep, no problem here. You deserve more, dude," Jason said, looking over at Dennis.
Dennis looked at the faces of Gary, Olivia, Jason, and Kimberly. They were all watching him with smiles, but their expressions were serious, clearly signaling that they wouldn’t take no for an answer. He turned to look at Daisy, who was watching him too. She gave a small nod and looped her arm through his. Finally, Dennis looked back at his friends.
"Alright... thank you," Dennis replied, giving in.
"Now that’s more like it. Give me your account number... and you too, man. I’ll process this right now," Gary said to Jason.
Without any further delay, Dennis handed over his smartphone, showing the account number for the joint account he shared with Daisy. Jason did the same, handing over his phone and using his joint account with Kimberly, following Dennis and Daisy’s lead. Gary and Olivia began calculating the shares and immediately initiated the transfers.
"Ding!" A message popped up on Daisy’s smartphone. When she checked it, a notification appeared showing that a sum of money had been deposited into their joint account. Daisy’s eyes widened slightly at the figure on the screen. She didn’t bother hiding her smile as she showed the screen to Dennis.
"We can buy a house someday," Daisy whispered.
"Well... if we get this much every time. At first, I thought hunters just earned a regular salary," Dennis replied.
"I thought so too, at first," Daisy replied.
"This is a real blessing for us; I’m truly grateful," Dennis said.
"True, hon. I’m so thankful too. We can buy so many things with this money," Daisy replied.
"Take it easy, though. Let’s not spend it all at once; make sure to save some. We still have a long journey ahead of us," Dennis replied.
"I know, hon... I know," Daisy replied.
Then Dennis and Daisy turned to look at Jason and Kimberly, who weren’t shy about showing how happy they were to get the money, shamelessly going on about what they were going to do with it. Meanwhile, Gary closed his laptop, and Olivia, sitting beside him, looked perfectly composed.
Dennis and Daisy acted calm—or more accurately, they were trying to act calm—even though their hands were squeezing each other’s under the table so hard they were sweating and their knuckles were turning white.
"Alright, how about we head to the beach?" Gary suggested, standing up.
"I’m going to change in my room first. Come on, Daisy, Kimberly," Olivia said as she stood.
"Okay, let’s go," Daisy said, getting up.
"Yep, you boys go ahead to the beach first," Kimberly added, standing as well.
The girls immediately ran upstairs, while Gary pulled off his shirt since he was already wearing shorts. Jason and Dennis followed suit, as they were also in shorts. Dennis let down his long hair and tied it up into a ponytail.
"Why are you letting your hair grow so long, man? I don’t remember it being long back when you were still heavy," Gary remarked.
"Yeah, true, dude. But just leave it; I think it looks cool," Jason added, eyeing Dennis’s hair.
"It’s true, my hair used to be short. Since I went through my awakening, it’s like my hair went through an awakening too," Dennis said. "This is because of the random character generator; my original character design didn’t actually have long hair," Dennis muttered in his heart.
They walked toward the back exit, and once they stepped onto the rear terrace, they saw a truly vast and beautiful swimming pool. Numerous umbrellas and tables surrounded the water, along with several lounge chairs and a stone pavilion that looked like something belonging to ancient royalty. They walked past it all and headed down a grassy slope toward the beach.
Dennis could see that the beach was entirely artificial; the sand was genuine white sand, and the waves crashed against a sea that looked blue all the way to the horizon. However, a boundary was visible in the distance, and the sky looked like a dome overhead, even though it displayed a sun hanging in the west, still high enough and not yet setting.
They walked over to an umbrella and lounge chairs with mats underneath, which had apparently been prepared by the servants, along with a small table stocked with cold drinks that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. It was clear the staff, knowing their master’s plans, had placed everything there in advance.
Without wasting a moment, Dennis, Gary, and Jason lay down on the three lounge chairs under the umbrella while enjoying their drinks. Once the atmosphere became comfortable and truly peaceful, the three of them seemed completely relaxed as they lay there. Jason turned his head to look at Gary beside him.
"So... are we actually here to train or for a vacation?" Jason asked, lying in the middle between Dennis and Gary.
"Vacation. Honestly, after seeing that fight earlier, I don’t think we even need to practice teamwork," Gary said.
"True. It’s like we already understand each other instinctively, right, dude?" Jason said, turning to look at Dennis.
But Dennis didn’t answer because he was looking back toward the villa. Jason immediately tapped Dennis on the shoulder.
"Oi, have you never seen your wife in a bikini or something? You seem pretty curious," Jason teased.
"Huh... no, I’m just wondering why they’re taking so long," Dennis asked.
"It’s normal, man. They’re women. Just taking off their clothes takes forever, let alone doing makeup. Just be patient," Gary answered casually.
"Yep... you’re right, man. That’s just how women are; it’s normal for them to be slow. Once they get here, they’ll probably ask us to rub on sunscreen, even though there isn’t actually a sun," Jason replied, lying back relaxed.
"Hmm... good point," Dennis muttered.
"Relax, man. They’ll be out any second. Just be patient," Gary said, sliding his sunglasses down.
"Yep, exactly. Chill out, dude," Jason added.
"You guys really think I’ve never seen my own wife in a bikini or something? Give me a break," Dennis grumbled.
Gary and Jason burst out laughing. Dennis turned back toward the front, staring at the ocean and listening to the faint sound of the waves in the distance. He just listened to Gary and Jason chatting casually beside him, occasionally glancing back, though this time he quickly turned his gaze forward again.
"Damn... why am I so hung up on Daisy in a bikini... I’ve seen her bikinis, I’ve seen her without clothes, plenty of times... but... it feels like this is the first time I’ll see her actually wearing a bikini... it’s bound to be a sight... ugh... what am I thinking... is it because Daisy and I were just intimate that I’m still caught up in the mood?" Dennis muttered in his heart while sipping his drink through the straw.
