My Servant System-Chapter 1279 - 1278: Easy Trial Done

Everyone else was also happy to be breathing normal, temperate air instead of that turbid stench that had rendered our sense of smell almost useless, but out here in the high altitude of this magical, almost impossible island floating through the sky it was coming back with each passing second.

It was so nice to be back, and to be back with some potent physical rewards was quite nice, though as we began to run back to the outskirts of the city - following the magical signposts left up by our initial expeditions alongside the magical signpost that was now attached to the carriage thanks to Lilith - we took these last moments to expend the remaining energy we had just so that the moment we crashed it would be so worth it.

Emerging from the time distorting bubble we rejoined the others and prepared to throw ourselves into our tents to sleep for a half day at least, and after giving a very brief explanation about what we had done and what we had gotten we proceeded to do just that, tossing ourselves into our bedrolls and shutting our minds off as sleep took us for a half day.

When I awoke it was to the wonderful weight of both Anput and Leone using me as a body pillow, specifically with Anput wedged between us as she made liberal use of our ’pillows’ for her own comfort, and after they both awoke we made our way outside as the rumbling of our stomachs made it impossible to get to the sexy times that they both clearly wanted just as much as me.

It was then that we were able to resume the discussions in regards to this city once more, and it all started with the four different Mana Crystals sitting atop one of the chests in the center of our little encampment being our focus.

"It really doesn’t look like much, but damn do each of these pack one hell of a punch. We should try and find some more trials that give these out; the mana efficacy is insane!"

Gnawing on the steaks that they had brought form there trial like some savage, I was more focused on filling my belly then I was on the musings of the Demon Wolf, but after another few moments of no one really saying anything to her she just kept going, be it from spite or genuine interest and excitement.

"All of those materials would be nice to get as soon as possible since we have a capable and arrogant blacksmith with us. Any upgrades we can do to our overall gear before heading into the higher tier trials is probably the best course of action... if only because some of those rewards are intangible things like a boost to our Cores."

I usually wanted to have a diverse and varied diet that would hit all of the needs of a person but right now I was more than happy to take another thick slab of meat and shovel it down my throat simply because it was just what I desperately needed right now to replenish my energy, but sadly the soul deep hunger I had was being satiated only somewhat by this carnivorous meal.

The conversation didn’t help, but irrationality was what had me in its clutches right now and I knew it, so I pushed that aside and just focused on eating as the others did the talking for right now, though I did plan to chime in eventually... just not right now

"Focusing on that would do well, but the problem was the quantity of doors that provided material rewards are just as varied as the other rewards. Sometimes it’s something useful and worth the effort, but other times it just didn’t seem like it would be worth a damn. Why would we need chests upon chests of gold? It would be nice but I don’t want to lug that back out..."

"Or the trial that awarded a dozen seeds of unknown origin to each person for killing an entire order of knights? Sounds like a whole lot of trouble for very little gain... but those seeds are probably for growing apples made of gold or something..."

Looking between Jahi and Mom I just found it amusing to see how similarly they thought about everything, though considering everything that I had seen of them both it made sense, especially since it was proven that these Demonesses were usually sharing almost all of their traits throughout multiple generations.

"That’s not even including the materials we might find on our own during those trials. Maybe we could also loot some of the stuff off of any mortals that seem impressive, expensive or necessary for our progress. Just need to remember that we get transported out the moment we complete the trial, so everything we want needs to be on hand..."

Going back to my steak, I finished filling my belly and then began to focus on the improvements that they had made during our time away, which at first was me wondering why they had sat here and seemingly done nothing before remembering that the days we spent in that trial translated to a handful of hours for them.

So when I saw the more permanent construction of the camp to help make it far more cozy and efficient I was actually rather relieved, especially since there were more additions to the carriage to turn it even more into a movable house with things like potted plants and even more storage for all of our good loot.

Growing some of the herbs that we would need for our potions alongside the herb responsible for maintaining the monster repellant too, which was something we were going to need desperately for our return home... which wasn’t for a little while now, honestly, being months away from now.
