My Servant System-Chapter 1265 - 1264: Pick A Door (1)
Kat PoV
Coming back to join the others, I didn’t know that I was going to return to a bit of a heated discussion as everyone stood around the carriage and debated about what the group compositions would be.
Lilith had chosen us all for a clear reason, and yet even she wasn’t quite sure about who should be paired with who going forwards, especially since there were only a few clear cut people who should be separated for each group.
Draka and I needed to be separated thanks to us both being Ice Mages, so it would be beneficial to everyone involved if we were placed into different groups; then there were the two Metal Mages that should be separated, and the two Demonesses... but at the same time, how do you separate everyone in a way that ensures they are as combat ready as possible.
Spreading our strength out evenly was something that we should aim for in order to ensure nothing terrible ever happened to any of us, and yet as I returned to them passive aggressively ’debating’ this with each other as they tried to figure out the best solution to a problem that really didn’t need to exist. "-f we go ahead and have them all together, that’s not enough experience and knowledge to appropriately react! But-"
"Then what are we going to do, hm? Keep sending in the two strongest to take everything and be surprised when the weak stay weak?"
Jahi and Mom were the two who were mainly attempting to get at one another’s throats, while Lady Fenyras chimed in whenever she could just try and pit them against one another and further antagonize whomever tried to chime in... only to sigh and roll her eyes when I returned.
"Why don’t we leave the whole team thing as fluid as possible, hm? Whenever we are about to head out and initiate a trial, we’ll form a team then and there and head for the trial. Mark whichever doors seem rather interesting and then head back out to clear it."
"Tch... why’d you ruin the fun? I wanted to see how long they’d stubbornly argue about nothing!"
The Demon Wolf pushed herself off of the carriage and looked back at the city as she added "Well, since we’re finally going to be more productive, I think we should split into two groups of three and leave two at a ’base point’. Use the rooftops to travel, send one person down onto the streets to find some doors and then make our way back."
When she noticed that we were all staring at her with a little shock she growled, her fur bristling a little as she glared at us all, though when Lilith said "Well, let’s not be too~ surprised with this! Even a broken clock is right twice a day, after all~!" her anger was directed towards a single person.

"I suppose we actually shouldn’t be surprised that the forever warrior and soldier has a firm, sound tactical analysis and strategy for us to follow. We’ll need a rope or something to connect the people in the streets to the person on the rooftops since we don’t know how the shifting of the Labyrinthian works on this island."
Lady Fenyras growled again, but this time it was softer as she fixed that single, sharp silver eye on me, a few different emotions lingering around inside of it that I couldn’t quite pin, with some of them sending tingles down my spine as I found my rawer, more instinctual thoughts wondering if one of them was need.
It was truly hard to not view the handsome, extremely strong Demon Wolf as a potential mate, especially not now that my needs were being barely met every night as Jahi tried her best; I needed a stronger fix sometime soon so that I could stop viewing this absolute hunk of a Wolfkin like she was a prime cut of steak that I needed to lick all over, especially down on that-
Shaking my head and getting those thoughts out of my mind, I approached the carriage and began to rummage through the supplies we had while saying "Anput, Mom and I can head out as a group and Lady Fenyras, Jahi and Draka can be the other. Leone and Lilith stay with the carriage and keep their eyes on us."
Finding the rope that we had brought, I measured it out as best I could after taking another look at the city, gauging just how much we would need in order to keep those roaming around the streets on a ’leash’ that would connect everyone together.
If we lost sight of one another and this place began to work on some amped up sort of magic that separated us, it would cost us a whole lot of time that we just couldn’t afford to spend; so we needed this rope, and as I got to cutting everyone else got into the groups I had suggested and prepared for the first proper expedition into the city.
"If we think there are any threats, try to communicate that to everyone else. Keep in sight, don’t be stupid, and let’s start marking these doors with a whole lot of mana in order to find them again. Look for doors that are for groups of three or four that have some interesting ’reward’ tied to them. If there are any that specify the need of a certain kind of magic or blood, mark those too.
Take note of everything and we’ll compile a little dossier of all of the notable doors that we want to enter. Take note of any doors that are already ’closed’ as well; we’ll get a list going that might help us figure out if there are other people here. Be careful, watch each other’s backs, and let’s get ourselves prepared for what is to come."
Everyone nodded at that, and soon enough we were walking back into the time warped bubble surrounding the city, setting up a ’base camp’ before heading up onto the rooftops, looking out over the city and seeing just how expansive it was... which only meant there was a lot of trials waiting for us.
