My Secret Billionaire Husband-Chapter 2696 - 2706: Rest assured, I won’t do anything
Ashton Heath looked at her adoringly, smiling as he left the kitchen.
After marrying Ashton Heath, Joanna Lawrence hardly ever cooked for herself.
Although Ashton claimed to love her cooking, he rarely allowed her in the kitchen. It was usually only when Joanna took the initiative to cook occasionally for him.
No matter how it tasted,
He would graciously eat it all.
Joanna was quite skilled at making simple home-cooked dishes - in less than half an hour, she had prepared three dishes.
The porridge in the pot was also just right.
She washed her hands, took off her apron, and asked a maid to take the dishes out.
"Is everything ready?" Ashton was sitting in the living room watching the news when he saw her coming out of the kitchen, and he immediately stood up.
"Yes, it’s ready. I made a shrimp dish and two vegetable dishes. Come and see if you like them."
"I’ve told you, as long as you make it, I’ll like it." Ashton walked over to her with a smile, putting his arm around her waist.
The two of them headed to the dining room together.
Joanna’s culinary skills might not be outstanding, but among ordinary people, they were above average. Each dish looked and smelled delicious. Although it wasn’t anything luxurious, in Ashton’s eyes, no delicacy could compare to his wife’s cooking.
He was tired of eating extravagant meals every day.
"It smells great." He approached the table and praised her before even taking a bite, "It looks so delicious. I just wanted to eat something light, so this late-night snack is perfect for my appetite."
"You haven’t even tasted it yet, and you already know it’s to your liking," Joanna sat down, picked up a fork, and took a shrimp from the white porcelain bowl, then beckoned him, "Come on, have a taste. It’s been a while since I cooked; I don’t even know if my skills have deteriorated."
"Alright." Ashton sat down beside her and ate the shrimp she had picked up for him.
"How is it?" Joanna asked.
"Delicious," Ashton evaluated seriously, "The shrimp is tender, and its freshness is preserved. You’ve mastered the heat well."
"Really?" Joanna was delighted to receive such praise and evaluation, her eyes brightening, "When I was stir-frying just now, I was afraid that it would be too dry, and the texture wouldn’t be good."
"The texture is just right," Ashton tasted another vegetable dish, and generously praised, "The flavor of this dish is also good."
"Well, then you should eat more." There was nothing more gratifying for a cook than having their culinary skills acknowledged.
Especially when Ashton was such a picky person.
Even if she knew that his praise was mostly to flatter her, who wouldn’t be happy to hear such sweet words?
Ashton looked up, his dark eyes full of indulgence: "Okay. I’ll do my best to finish this late-night snack cooked by my hardworking wife."

After dinner, Joanna took a bath and lay lazily in bed.
The spot beside her sunk a little, and a warm breath enveloped her from behind. Her back pressed against the strong chest of the man behind her, and a pair of equally warm arms wrapped around her soft waist.
"Ashton Heath..." Joanna’s body stiffened a little.
"Don’t worry, I won’t do anything." The man’s voice was deep and sexy, his thin lips close to her ear as he whispered, "I know you have to get up early tomorrow, so I just want to hold you."
Her delicate body relaxed in his arms.
