My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 2008: Leaking Secrets
Jun Yiyi observed her expression was normal, so he knew she was unaware of any insider information, simply believing she was invited by the Councilman’s wife to work on something.
There was a faint cold smile at the corner of Jun Yiyi’s mouth; he handled everything so openly, making everything seem legitimate and above board, leaving no room for criticism. Even if she questioned him, there was no evidence to prove he was using this semi-hostage situation to stop her from leaving.
It really infuriated her.
"Mom, we’re not going on the trip today. There’s something important at school. Let’s postpone the trip until we have time later!" 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Madam Aisha found her change of heart strange but didn’t question it too much.
In her eyes, this child is very assertive; once she decides on something, it’s not something one can easily doubt.
Then Jun Yiyi went to school as usual. Even though her life had changed dramatically, the school remained unchanged, still calm as always. The tense political situation hadn’t really affected this place much.
Having decided to stay, yet not having much of a plan for any trouble that might come, after all, she couldn’t rush something that hadn’t happened yet, nor could she predict what changes might occur.
She simply lived and attended school as usual, responding to all changes with constancy.
Early in the morning, arriving at school, many staff members and students from the student council were enthusiastically carrying out celebration activities. The atmosphere quickly became lively, filling people with a sense of vigorous strength that uplifted their spirits.
Jun Yiyi also relaxed her mood, eagerly participating in various activities, playing games all the way, having so much fun, that several hours passed in the blink of an eye, and it was soon midday.
"Yiyi, so you’re here. I’ve been looking for you for hours; you sure know how to wander." Lina met Jun Yiyi in front of a stall, immediately breathing a sigh of relief and called out, then handed Yiyi a letter, "This is for you."
"What is it?" Jun Yiyi took it, very curious. In this age of advanced communication, a simple phone call or various information connections could be made instantly, yet someone used this cumbersome and inefficient method of writing a letter.
"I don’t know either; a man I didn’t recognize gave it to me, told me you were here, and asked me to give it to you immediately. It’s quite strange and secretive. But from his serious and tense expression, it seems to be something important inside."
Jun Yiyi immediately opened it, and her expression changed drastically.
Inside were a few words that made her heart skip a beat, filled with an indescribable sense of urgency.
"Yiyi, you must leave the school before 12 o’clock."
She recognized the handwriting as Wubai’s.
She didn’t know why Wubai would suddenly give her such a note, but judging from the urgency of the message, he must know some crucial confidential information, which is why he urgently wanted her to leave the school before 12 o’clock.
She had no idea how he had the ability to know confidential matters, but anyone involved in confidential affairs was certainly strictly required to adhere to secrecy and not leak information. Clearly, notifying her in this way was a breach of secrecy.
And out of fear of being eavesdropped on, he didn’t dare to use the phone to tell her directly.
Jun Yiyi felt moved in her heart; she had refused his kindness last night, he was quite angry, but unexpectedly, today he still cared for her safety by notifying her this way.
But needing to leave the school before 12 o’clock, did he mean that after 12, something dangerous would happen at the school?
