My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 2005: Tripped Up Hard
"Leaving tomorrow would be too late; does that imply that a major event will occur tomorrow?"
But he’s just a professor, how could he know some important insider information?
She also understood that she couldn’t ask him any further questions, and he wouldn’t divulge more, but she believed he was a cautious person who must have a compelling reason to urge her to leave tonight.
"Alright." She felt that perhaps the situation was more serious than she had imagined.
"Open the door, let her leave!" At the doorway, Wubai commanded the security personnel to open the automatic door and let Yiyi leave.
Yiyi was surprised to see the security personnel standing guard at the door actually listened to his command without asking her reason for leaving, which was astonishing since departures weren’t normally allowed without special circumstances.
How was it that Wubai could let her leave without any formalities?
It seemed that Wubai’s demeanor and image at that moment were drastically different from what she remembered, like a soldier reinstating their imposing presence on the battlefield!
Soon, Wubai arranged a car to take her back and instructed her to pack quickly, specifying the time later that night and the location where they would be picked up to leave.
A few minutes later, Yiyi returned home.
She hurriedly rushed upstairs to find Madam Aisha, contemplating along the way what reason she should use to persuade Madam Aisha to leave so hastily, as she didn’t want to frighten her.
However, when Yiyi reached the upper floor and opened Madam Aisha’s room, she found it empty.
Yiyi was taken aback; Madam Aisha didn’t enjoy social events and typically stayed home in the evenings.
She quickly asked the butler where Madam Aisha had gone.
The butler shook his head, saying Madam Aisha had left in a hurry after receiving a phone call, without mentioning where she was going.
Yiyi was alarmed, with a growing sense of foreboding.
She picked up the phone and dialed Madam Aisha’s mobile, but the call wouldn’t connect, exacerbating her tension; she was extremely anxious about where Madam Aisha had gone and why there was no contact or information left behind.
At such a critical moment, could Madam Aisha’s disappearance be a coincidence, or something else? 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
But it was obvious that if she couldn’t quickly find Madam Aisha, they wouldn’t be able to leave tonight according to Wubai’s plan!
Yiyi had to stay calm, dialing the numbers of the ladies connected with Madam Aisha, asking if she had visited any of them.
The answers she received were all negative.
Yiyi also wondered if Madam Aisha had suddenly decided to go for a walk on her own.
But after waiting for one or two hours with no sign of her return, Yiyi realized Madam Aisha might truly be missing.
What a narrow escape, especially at such a crucial time.
Something was off.
Yiyi furrowed her delicate brows.
Yes, why at this exact moment? Why such a coincidence, neither too early nor too late, just as she was about to leave secretly, Madam Aisha suddenly disappeared.
Isn’t that an odd occurrence?
It felt as if someone was already aware of her plans and tripped her up at the key moment!
As if something came to her suddenly, her pale face darkened, fingers slowly clenched, forming a tight fist.
Who did she offend? To sabotage her like this.
She had been keeping a low profile for half a year, even though she was often seen as a thorn in the side at school, she generally avoided trouble, and even those who caused her issues couldn’t possibly know about her abrupt departure plans.
Who had monitored her movements so thoroughly? Able to foresee her intentions before she even acted.
Who could it be?
