My Scales Can Make Equivalent Exchange-Chapter 63 - Clan
Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Clan
Chapter 63 -63: Clan
“Don’t worry, I know what to do,” Wang Zijia said, nonchalantly scooping up a dish from the far end of the table for Xiang FeiFei, “So, what’s the deal with this Family Alliance?”
Xiang FeiFei paused briefly at Wang Zijia’s gesture before getting back to her meal and explaining,
“I’ve completely forgotten about that since I started my new job a few days ago. The materials you are struggling with can actually be accessed through the Family Alliance. However, they mainly deal with large trade deals, so you have to store at least ten days’ worth of materials before you can trade.”
Wang Zijia promptly produced a card and handed it over as he ate, “It’s from An Xingsheng.”
Xiang FeiFei picked up the card and glanced at it before saying, “There’s no problem. The regular meetings at the Family Alliance are all held anonymously. The participants are selected randomly. It’s only after you make a deal that you can choose from those you’ve traded with before and form your own little group.”
Wang Zijia took the card back and frowned slightly, “I don’t quite understand.”
“There’s a gathering every evening. Attend it and you’ll understand. It’s just an illusion network for trading. It’s very simple,” Xiang FeiFei casually said while eating.

She used to have a habit of not talking while eating or sleeping, but their meal times had slowly become their most abundant and natural interaction time over the past few days. Hence, it had gradually evolved into its current state.
“Alright, I’ll check it out tonight,” said Wang Zijia as he put away the card and nodded.
“Oh, here’s something for you!” Suddenly, Xiang FeiFei put down her chopsticks and handed Wang Zijia a book.
Magma Fireball
Wang Zijia accepted it reflexively, looking a bit surprised as he stared at the Technique Manual in his hands.
“This is a secret inheritance from the Dao Law Court, a top-notch attack technique of the First-Class Advanced Level, of the Earth-Fire attribute. It’s a perfect match for your current foundation. The clan has spent a considerable effort to get it for you,” said Xiang FeiFei as she handed him the book and picked her chopsticks back up. “Your Great Uncle has been running around all over the place, seeking various benefits for you over the past few days.”
Wang Zijia looked at Xiang FeiFei, then at the secret technique in his hand. Having learned a lot over the past few days, he was no longer a beginner and knew just how challenging it was to get such a secret technique, especially one from the Dao Law Court!
“Thank you,” Wang Zijia murmured after a while.
Xiang FeiFei paused, probably unsure of how to respond and simply continued eating in silence.
“How was your day at work?” Wang Zijia quickly changed the topic.
“Don’t even mention it. My senior instructor is a slippery old fox with no hope of being promoted. He’s gotten more than half of his junior brothers’ spiritual material cards, but all he ever does is make them process spiritual materials,” Xiang FeiFei complained.
“After finding out that I’m also a disciple from the clan, he’s been using me to buy cheap goods from this family and sell spiritual materials to that one. I feel like I’ve become his own personal waste disposal worker,” she added in exasperation.
“How did they end up assigning you someone like that?” Wang Zijia frowned.
“There’s nothing I can do about it. It’s too hard to get into the Fu Tower and there just wasn’t enough time to find anyone else. Places like this that veterans who’ve given up on promotions frequent are the only ones where you can find a vacancy on short notice,” she explained, then glanced at Wang Zijia and continued,
“Of course, if there are new instructors available, I could’ve chosen one of them. But those positions are usually snapped up quickly. It’s better to take a gamble with uncertainty than to settle for a confirmed deadbeat. That’s what happened with An Xingsheng.”
“Why don’t you switch to my area?” Wang Zijia suggested tentatively.
Xiang FeiFei looked at Wang Zijia before shaking her head and saying, “Forget it, I’ve just settled in here; making a move now would be difficult. Besides, An Xingsheng would definitely not be pleased. The An family is no worse off than ours, so it’s best not to cause any unnecessary trouble.”
“Fine then, you can just lay low for the time being. We can discuss it later when the timing is better.”
“Okay!”
“······”
And so, the two finished their dinner, then rested under the pear tree in the courtyard like an old married couple before returning to their rooms to cultivate.
······”
Wang Zijia entered the cultivation room and took out the Secret Book he had just obtained: Magma Fireball.
“The Xiang family, huh? Seems like having clansmen isn’t too bad,” Wang Zijia murmured, then quietly opened the Secret Book and began to study it closely.
After a while, he finished reading the book and had memorized over half of it.
It seemed that although it was a secret inheritance, not all powerful spells were as peculiar as the Clay Activation Technique.
With these thoughts in mind, Wang Zijia read the book again. By the third reading, the Secret Book had turned into scraps of paper, bringing a satisfied smile to his face.
Status of Molten Fireball cultivation (Not Yet Started 50/300),
Borrowing over two hundred weights from the talisman paper-making technique to initiate it, Wang Zijia began to cast the spell.
When Wang Zijia finished executing the seal, his expression suddenly changed.
The mana within his body was swiftly drained. In the blink of an eye, more than half was gone, not stopping until it was almost exhausted.
At this point, a blood-red fireball the size of a human head, resembling molten lava, slowly emerged from his hand.
The fireball was different from ordinary ones that gave off a bright light. It was dim, the blood-red surface appearing as though there was real molten lava flowing on it.
Feeling that more than half of his mana was drained, he realized that if not for the significant difference in attack techniques between First-Class Advanced Level and Mid-Level, he would have thought that this Dao Law Court’s secret technique was incredible!
Feeling the violent power within the fireball, and the massive difference compared to the Earth Spear Technique, Wang Zijia subconsciously swallowed his saliva. Taking a hit from this would probably take him out on the spot!
Quieting his mind and releasing the spell, Wang Zijia felt his mana start to replenish, and his pale face gradually regained its color. He then rummaged through his Storage Bag for a while before barely scraping together a handful of fire-attribute spiritual materials. Adding these to the existing earth-attribute spiritual materials, he mixed up a set of Talisman Ink and began making a talisman.
Thanks to having a Great Mastery level of Rune Perception, crafting a Magma Fireball Charm was much easier than casting the spell. It took him roughly half an hour to finish a talisman with the spell inscribed on it. Despite merely setting up the spell patterns on the talisman, the process was vastly more complex than the Earth Spear Spirit Arrow.
Holding the newly-made, exquisite First-Class Advanced Level talisman, he examined it for a while. Wang Zijia estimated that with his current cultivation level and at full spiritual power, he could probably trigger two of them, which is better than casting the spell himself.
It was clear to see the effectiveness of a talisman made with a Great Mastery Rune Perception.
After checking all of that, it was already eight in the evening.
Wang Zijia tidied up and pulled out the anonymous card given by An Xingsheng, which was now faintly glowing.
He exhaled his mana lightly and a light screen appeared before him.
“Please select the general type of your tradeable items,” it read.
Wang Zijia paused for a moment before typing in the prompt, “Talismans and related spiritual materials.”
“Allocating room…”
“Allocation complete, we hope you enjoy your exchange!”
As the screen flashed quickly with information, a button appeared in the center of the card, asking him to touch it with his mind or to place it on his forehead.
Wang Zijia decided to try placing it on his forehead. A faint magical fluctuation came forth, it seemed to be some basic illusion formation.
The effect wasn’t particularly strong. If he resisted, he could easily break free. But Wang Zijia did not resist, dutifully sinking into it instead.
