My Perfect Revenge: Flash Marriage With My Vampire Tycoon-Chapter 157: – Madam –
— Current Day —
Viviana stood in front of the door of the king en suit in the penthouse. It read her frame print, clicking open and letting her in.
She staggered over to the living room, pausing as her gaze glided to the chair Nikolas was last seated that day. He’d been right there, begging her not to go out. To stay with him.
Why? 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
’Did he have a feeling that something was wrong?’ Her heart shattered as she thought, her body trembling where she stood.
If she had stayed behind none of this would have happened right? Nikolas was strong and he knew he could protect her with his own strength. But when she was that far from him with her life on the line...
...When his weakness was used against him...
Her chest felt tight like it could squeeze into smithereens and she quickly swallowed her sob. She’d been crying for so many days now and she couldn’t afford to do it anymore.
Her head was banging with a killing migraine. Her eyes were swollen and she felt too weak. Not to mention her wound that had yet to completely heal.
A knock suddenly came at the door.
She turned.
Who was it?
Viviana approached. She looked through the monitor, relief flashing through her immediately when she realized that it was the maid who of course wasn’t human.
She opened up.
The new maid who’d been hired after the last one was fired, bowed to her with a polite smile. "Good evening, madam. I’ve come to take care of apartement."
Viviana could only nod. And as if the maid noticed her mood, her smile fell off slowly. She glanced at her swollen eyes, at her pale face and her figure that seemed to have grown unhealthily leaner in the last two weeks.
"Madam... are you okay?"
"Mhm. I’m alright. Thank you." She forced a smile. "Please take your time."
She turned and left, making her way to the bedroom. The second she opened the door, she was assaulted by his smell—that scent of him that was far too comforting. So homey if it made sense.
A shirt of his was on the bed. She’d walked over and picked it up, burying her face in it. She’d intended to shower, but now, she couldn’t seem to do so. She felt too weak and the only thing she could manage was getting into the bed and curling up under the duvet.
The clock was ticking by and before she knew it, she’d fallen into a sort of sleep where she drifted in and out of it. It was an exhausting sleep.
At some point, she blinked her eyes open, only to freeze. Nikolas was laid next to her, staring and smiling at her like he always did. A few of his jade white teeth were on display and as usual whenever he woke up, his chestnut hair would be a mess, a few strands running and here.
He had this thing called bed hair. And it was horrible.
Viviana chuckled without even knowing it. She reached out, brushing her fingers through his hair to straighten them. "You look funny."
"But handsome, hm?" He smirked at her. "Come here." He turned properly, shifting closer as he opened up his arms for her. "Let me hold you. You don’t have to go to work so early."
Her body shook in a kind of excitement she couldn’t explain. She moved over into him, waited for his arms to be around her, to feel his warmth, but there was none of it.
She quickly lifted her gaze. "Nikolas...?" But there was no one next to her anymore. The bed was empty and it was just her. The room wasn’t sunny. It was gloomy and cold, the sounds of the heavy beating rain pattering against the roof and the window—
"Madam!" "Madam!"
The voice snapped her out of it, and she jolted, turning to stare at the face in her vision. "W-what?"
"Are you okay?" the maid from last night asked. She held a worried look on her face.
Viviana blinked. "W-what do you mean?"
"You’re crying. You’ve been this way for a while."
"Oh... Wait, no, I’m sorry about that. I’m just having a... t-tough day." She was quick to wipe at her face, sniffling.
"Oh my. You might fall sick at this point. I’ve made some breakfast, please come and eat."
Viviana shook her head. "Not really. I don’t have any appetite. But I’ll take a shower first." She didn’t stall, getting up and staggering her way into the bathroom.
The maid stood so worried. Viviana barely looked alive. She hadn’t exactly ate well these last two weeks and that caused her to lose so much weight it was concerning.
She made her way into the living room, only to pause. Stepping inside was none other than Loredana. She knew she was her boss’s mother.
"Good morning, ma’am!" She quickly bowed.
Loredana smiled at her. "My daughter in law, do you know where she is?"
"Oh, you mean madam?" the maid held a dejected look. "She’s taking a shower. But it’s a bit worrisome."
"What do you mean?"
"She hadn’t slept well all night. Between every hour, I could hear her tossing and turning. She had been crying in her sleep too. I made some breakfast and soup I think would help ease her migraine, but she doesn’t want to eat. She said she had no appetite. I am a bit worried. Sir did tell me to take care of her when he hired me."
"I see." Loredana gave a large smile. "Leave it to me. I’ll take care of her myself." She left and proceeded to one of the guest rooms where she changed into a set of new home outfit.
However even after thirty minutes and more, Viviana was nowhere to be seen. Loredana went in to look for her and on the bed, she found her laid in her pajamas, her hair wet, clearly not having dried it.
Her eyes were open, but she wasn’t saying a word, nor was she moving.
