My Perfect Revenge: Flash Marriage With My Vampire Tycoon-Chapter 137: – Let Go –
Francesca blinked apart her long dark lashes. She locked gazes with him and a little smile pulled at her lips. "Lucian?"
"What’s wrong with you? Are you okay? You’ve been this way since you came back."
Francesca tried to smile. "I’m not sure what’s wrong with me. I’ve just been feeling a bit sick. Nauseous and dizzy."
"Shall we go to the hospital then?"
She shook her head. "It’s nothing to worry about. I’m sure I’ll be fine if I rest a little bit more."
"Are you sure that will be enough?" he asked, deeply apprehensive.
She was about to respond to him when the door bell constantly rang over and over again. Both of them frowned. Lucia turned, tilting her small head. "Daddy, someone is at the door," she said.
"Stay here, sweetie. Let me see who it is." Lucian approached the door and glanced at the monitor on the wall, lifting a brow seeing that it was... Nikolas?
He quickly allowed the door to read his print, before the lock clicked apart. Lucian opened the door. And standing before him was Nikolas who looked anything but okay.
Something was wrong.
Lucian could feel it deep in his soul. And he was quick to ask, "Nikolas, w-what’s going on with you?"
"Help me, Lucian." Nikolas met his eyes. "Please."
Lucian was confused, "Help you? Help you with what?"
"The calamity of being with a woman who wasn’t my mate. It’s here. She’s missing. Viviana, someone took her and I need to save her. I need to bring her back safely, but I can’t do it alone. I may not make it out alive and I need you to help me bring her back safely. Please."
"Make it out alive?" Lucian’s face darkened. "Have you fucking lost your mind?"
"Lucian—"
"Shut the hell up, Nikolas." Lucian snapped at him. "You? Not make it out alive? Take it back."
Nikolas lost it as well, glaring at him with his voice having gone high and deep. "Lucian, are you helping me or not? I need to—" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Daddy...?" The tiny voice resounded behind them. "Uncle Niko...?"
They quickly looked over, finding Lucia who stood staring at the both of them with tearful eyes. Her doll had fallen off her hand to the floor. Never once had she seen the two men sound so harsh to each other and being a child, she could only cry.
"Why are you fighting?" The beads of tears slipped down her face. "Uncle Niko..."
Nikolas shoved Lucian aside, rushing inside and picking the little girl up. "There, there, don’t cry, sweetheart. Your father and I aren’t fighting. We just have a little misunderstanding. It’s nothing like that."
She sniffled into his shoulder.
He patted her back, soothing her. "Calm down. Stop crying. We’re not fighting at all. Why don’t you ask him?"
She crossed gazes with her father. And Lucian who’d walked over, took her from him, proceeding to calm her down. "Yourr uncle is right, honey. We’re not fighting, okay?"
Lucia finally stopped crying and hair standing speed, Lucian was on the second floor, making his way to her room. "Sweetie, your uncle and I have somewhere to be, so will you be a good girl and stay in your room?"
"A-are you leaving?"
"Of course not. But I must help your uncle with something important." He sat her on the bed and cupped her cheek. "Your mummy is sick, so why don’t you give her a while to rest. I also want you to go down occasionally and check on her. Can you do that for me?"
Lucia nodded her head. "I can."
"Promise you’ll stay here."
"But is uncle Niko okay?"
"Your uncle is fine. Now will you stay?"
She nodded.
Lucian ruffled her hair. Her cupped her cheeks, kissing her forehead before putting her to bed.
He halted at the door. She was watching him.
Taking a deep breath, he finally left. She stayed put like he’d asked, but then a few long minutes later, her little ears picked up on an argument coming from outside in their compound.
Lucia hurried out of her bed and hurried to the window. She peeked out and from there, she could see her father and Nikolas downstairs and arguing with each other.
Both were raising their voices.
"Making it out alive is up to me because I will do everything to see she’s safe! All I need from you is your help and if you can’t give me, Lucian, fuck off!"
Lucian threw his hands in the air. "You are insufferable. You think not caring for your own life is worth it? You are my twin brother and I care for you, alright. We have to think this over, you can’t just rush in there without a plan!"
"What plan? I need to save her. It’s almost six in the morning, the sun will begin rising. And I must be there before the sun rises. I am running out of time. Who knows what sort of situation she is in now? Were it Francecesca, would you stand here, trying to think anything over? Trying to make a stupid bullshit plan?"
Nikolas was fuming. "You know what? Back off! I’ll do it myself and even if with my last breath, I will see to it that she’s saved."
Nikolas began to storm off to his car, but Lucian grabbed his arm. "Nikolas—"
"Let go, Lucian!" The man shot him a seething glare. "Aren’t you my twin brother? Don’t you care about me so much? Then fucking help me when I need you the most!"
Lucia’s lip she bit down on, trembled and while absent minded with what she was seeing, she slipped off the edge of the window, toppling over and falling off.
Her scream resounded and she had almost hit the ground, only to stay afloat mid air at the last second.
She was facing the sky, her back inches away from the floor.
No one had heard her scream, Not the two men who were fighting, nor Francesca who was asleep and feeling sick.
Gathering herself up, Lucia settled her bare tiny feet on the floor. Her father and uncle were still in their heated argument and slowly, she hid among the freshly cut flower trees, hurrying over until she could get close to the car.
Then without either of them realizing, she pulled the door of the car open a little bit, got inside and hid behind the chairs.
"Fine, let’s go. But know that I will never willingly lose you." Lucian stormed off, taking the passenger side of the car.
Nikolas took the driver’s side and with a quick backtrack, he sped out through the opened gate of the compound and drove off into the road.
