My Mother Has a System but Won't Use It-Chapter 208: I’ll teach you in a bit!
Han Li and Liyue were still in the room.
Liyue was comfortably lying against his shoulder while speaking, and Han Li was listening to her as he massaged her hand. He was totally mind-blown.
She had indeed destroyed his image of the world and then rebuilt it in one mere hour.
The fucking… Spirit tried to possess her?
She gained the ability to sense her own Existence? And then also found out she had 7 Empty Spaces instead of one?
Color him surprised.
That much was already rather quirky enough for a mere Breakthrough to the Evolution Stage, but there was more. The golden shadowy mist from his Mother was supposedly binding his own Existence and all the others into one and many more.
Everything honestly left him in a really hard position.
He couldn't even believe in all of her words... It was too hard to believe. He couldn't even entirely trust her after The Spirit was a part of it all.
But her actions spoke for her.
The current Liyue was strong. He could probably defeat her from a distance if he used some tactics, but if she touched him—he was done for. She was touching this supposed Existence of his and he had no way to react against it.
Han Li had a sneaking suspicion that she might even be a threat to actual Power Born now.
She had barely Evolved yesterday. This all left him clearly and harshly confounded.
There is always more Secrets...
This actually cleared some things, though.
For example, Liyue's goddess-like body. Liyue's figure and beauty were just too astounding.
If she ever Transcended, her beauty alone would probably have more than half of the male population of the continent red with envy towards Han Li. Even now itself, that was truly the case, just in a smaller proportion.
Maybe this was the reason she turned so beautiful in a matter of years?
Then, another fact was also cleared.
Why were many people shown as Unawakened when they were not?
Obviously, sensing this Existence was important. It was probably a game-changer.
He had his doubts, but so did Liyue.
She was also worried.
7 Empty Spaces? What did that mean?
She had tried to bring out the Spirit and show it to Han Li, but it couldn't leave her Empty Space without being in peril, and it also told her it was impossible to see her for Han Li.
Someone like Han Li couldn't see her, at all. Only people who have sensed their own Existence can see and sense other people's Existence. Only people who sensed their own Existence can fight against others who had sensed it.
It even made sense now why he couldn't read the Spirit's memories for so long.
The only thing he had yet to make sense of was why Liyue said that his mother was the reason for their marriage being a failing streak. Her words were in a positive take, so he was even more in the middle of a puzzle.
In the end… there was only one thing to do. All doubts could be cleared.
One logical thing that would let them know the best course to take from here.
Han Li asked, sincere, "Liyue, can I read your memories?"
That was the most logical thing to do and there was no reason not to do that. Unless she didn't want to. After a second of surprise, she nodded without a hint of reluctance.
Why would she say no?
Han Li smiled. Then shook his head at himself.
There was no reason to be suspicious of her.
He'd be suspicious whether the Spirit did something to her had she been weaker than him, and had she not had a chance to really take him off guard. But she already had some chances to completely take him off guard if that were so; she could have kept silent about this whole fiasco, even.
His Life Vision was also clear in who she was. Even though he knew not to trust on it too much, he had trust in his intuition about things.
He'd be able to read Liyue if she was not Liyue—earlier, he had been unguarded of the Spirit and its weird powers, but he was now aware. That was Heaven and Earth's difference.
If she had malevolent intentions, she could have killed him when she first used her power to stun him with a touch, too. She was Liyue, and Liyue was a woman he had trust in.
"You really are Brother Han; your bag of tricks never ends," she smiled charmingly at him.
Reading memories? That's surprising! But reasonable, reasonable... if it was him.
"Of course, I can do many things."
Han Li looked at her, and their eyes reflected each other.
Smiling, he leaned closer, shifted his position, and nibbled on her neck. A bit surprised, she looked sideways at him in interest.
What was he doing?
She caressed his hair.
His tooth gently sunk down, yet she could feel no pain. Only a surging sense of desire.
Lust Dao Talent—Painless Lust.
It transformed Pain into Lust!
"Such a convenient power," she shifted slightly, letting him more comfortably suck her blood. "So really, Big Brother, are you the successor of the Sacred Demon or something? I don't think you are just a normal Sacred Talent Cultivator—just like me."
Stronger people had more right to know his secrets, after all.
She felt slightly smug inside, but her face was just flushed.
"Something like that," Han Li replied and then immediately felt trickles of her blood dripping into his throat, and used another Magic Power.
Lust Dao Talent—Lustful Healing.
Her lust burned itself, and she started to heal. It was a painfully slow process, but the wound was shallow.
Since the Life Sword was now inside his body, as long as he touched someone's blood, he could read their memories. Yet, he was doubtful whether he'd be able to read Liyue's memories.
After all, she was similar to the Spirit.
She hadd sensed Existence.
He laid down on Liyue's lap, and she looked at him curiously. His lips were slightly bloody.
The red mark on his forehead, barely visible, took her focus next.
With her eyes infused with the power of Existence, she felt as if she could see more of this mysterious man who had stolen her heart so casually, but he was ever mysterious.
She waited for him to wake up from reading her memories but suddenly, a twang of uncomfortable strangeness hit her straight in the Existence that she had grown so fond of. Herself.
She could feel someone try to steal a glance into her soul. It was as if someone was trying to enter inside forcefully, and her focus shifted to the feeling of familiar warmth.
It was Han Li's Existence.
Suppressing the feeling of strangeness, she let him into her mind; if she wanted to, she could totally resist it, but of course, she didn't want to resist. If she wanted to, she could have even made him have a nightmare there and then!
The Spirit had always been doing exactly that when Han Li tried to read her memories. People who sensed their own Existence were indeed on a different level.
Suddenly, Liyue was surprised to find herself inside her mind. In memories—Her memories.
Han Li was before her… blank.
His eyes were… an abyss.
As if he lacked eyes.
He was an eyeless creature. Incapable of seeing.
She almost gasped, frowning slightly at the unsightly sight he had become as she touched him soothingly. "Big Brother, can you see me?"
Her soothing call gained no answers. No matter how much she prodded him, he didn't seem to see. Indeed, he didn't have the ability to see an Existence.
Was it necessary to shock him into seeing it?
Like the Spirit 'shocked' her into it?
She felt the power in her own Existence. Liyue leaned towards him, and their lips met—his form was horrible, and she was like a goddess of beauty.
The power slowly inundated him.
…
All he could see was a dark forest, an Eyeless creature looking at him.
He couldn't pass that, no matter how much he tried.
It seemed as if the creature was devouring him. He knew the memory watching was bound to fail. He wondered about it: what was an Existence?
Did he lack one or something?
His birth wasn't natural, after all. That made him worried.
Soft lips caressed his senses as his gaze slowly came to a snow-studded city. Face filled with wonder, he looked around.
His heart must have been beating heavily, and his face must have been blushing when his gaze finally turned to Liyue. She was smirking.
"How's it?" She said, "It's my Breakthrough day, and it's me giving gifts to you… Tsk."
Han Li had no words.
This was Existence?
He only looked at her in wonder.
Normally, Existence lacked color, but inside memories, an Existence was the most beautiful thing. The most colorful. The only thing that truly Existed.
Han Li was suddenly struck.
…Fuck.
He was in love.
