My Life with Narration-Chapter 259 - 258: A New Case
Now Su Qing is really working at the police station in name only.
Carrying the title of a network security consultant, but barely seen around. He was supposed to come two days a week, but the criminal investigation department kept taking up his time, much to Zhu Lili’s dismay.
Now she’s the only one holding up the official account. Although there’s been initial traffic, ever since the first video, the view count has been dropping day by day.
The only ones who come asking are inquiring about Li Zijun, aren’t netizens like that?
Even though she’s continued to produce videos about legal education and network security promotion, simply reading from a script is really boring, and recently they’ve even started losing followers.
Despite asking other female officers to appear on camera, and even taking the stage herself, the decline couldn’t be reversed.
She thought about looking for Li Zijun, after all, she’s the face of Jiangcheng Public Security Bureau, but Li Zijun’s part of criminal investigations and has been busy with all kinds of cases lately, sometimes not even seen at the bureau for a whole day. Naturally, there’s no way, so she remembered she still had a consultant.
Du Qiang was startled by Zhu Lili’s protective behavior, and then fled in the face of her sharp accusations, not daring to reason with an angry woman.
"If I don’t show my power, you really think I’m a sick cat, really think I don’t know how to bare my teeth!" Zhu Lili proudly placed her hands on her hips, looking at Du Qiang’s retreating figure.
Seeing this, Su Qing was speechless, then turned to Da Huang and said, "Show her your teeth."
Da Huang: "Aowoo~~"
The next second, a slap came down: "You’re a golden retriever, not an idiot!"
Da Huang shrank its neck in grievance, then huddled behind Zhu Lili, whimpering.
"Stop bullying Da Huang, my public account still relies on him!" Zhu Lili shielded Da Huang behind her.
That’s right, here, Da Huang’s status is higher than his.
No choice, Su Qing could only help Zhu Lili come up with creative ideas, shooting videos, after all, that’s his job.
An hour later, at the police dog training ground, Fu Qi brought some of his officers and police dogs to gather there.
Taihu, Lightning, Gale, and Erlu were under their respective trainers, while Da Huang donned a police dog outfit and shyly hid behind Su Qing, peeking at its peers.
Strangers could easily tell the difference between a pet dog and a military dog; the disposition gap was as obvious as that between a freshly retired soldier and a regular person.
The police dogs like Taihu sat and stood with discipline; while Da Huang looked like a lump of poop, just slouched there, appearing a bit bashful.
Yes, after discussing, Zhu Lili brought him to find Fu Qi and others with police dogs, hoping they could help film a promotional video.
Fu Qi thought it over and agreed, after all, it was for the bureau’s promotion. He’d also heard about Li Zijun’s instant fame last time, so he naturally paid more attention.
"So... what should we do?" Fu Qi asked somewhat nervously at his phone camera.
Hearing this, Zhu Lili also looked at him. Su Qing thought for a moment, then approached and said, "No special requirements, just train as you usually do, if possible, include Da Huang for a contrast effect. As for promotion elements, leave it to Sister Li, okay?"
"That’s totally fine, but your... Da Huang, can he do it? Our Taihu and the others have all had professional training."
Su Qing: ...
He’s heard this line more than once, professional training, but the results seem unsatisfactory. Looking at Da Huang by his feet, even wearing a Dragon Robe doesn’t make him look like a Crown Prince, very odd indeed.
He then nudged Da Huang with his foot, pointing to Fu Qi, and said, "Didn’t you want to be a police dog? Now’s your chance, let’s see if you can do it!"
Da Huang: "Woof" [Paw Patrol, to the rescue!]
Seeing this, Su Qing handed the leash to Fu Qi without a second thought and said, "It’s up to you, let him make a fool of himself, create that contrast effect!"
Soon, Fu Qi and his team, with their police dogs and Da Huang, were fully equipped. They started with routine police dog training programs. Thankfully, Fu Qi didn’t plan for overly difficult subjects, just some obstacle courses and barrier navigation.
Each police dog took the stage with the speed of lightning, very smooth. Though Da Huang lacked stamina and was much slower, even getting stuck on a fence, he still understood the basic commands, which greatly surprised Fu Qi.
Because no matter how smart a pet dog is, it usually can’t comprehend professional commands. Da Huang, however, had strong learning capabilities, mimicking what other police dogs did, although its own abilities were limited.
It could even complete scent tracking challenges, only falling short in attack and capture tasks.
Fu Qi and the team, wearing protective gear, gave a command, and the police dogs like Taihu lunged forward and bit down hard, but Da Huang hesitated to bite and kept barking.
Da Huang: "Woof woof woof" [Hey, human, this guy’s crazy, wants me to bite him, isn’t he a good person?]
An hour-long shoot saw the police dogs like Taihu showing off their prowess, demonstrating police dog speed, strength, and skills, while Da Huang provided comic relief, stumbling around, creating a stark contrast.
Even during the shoot, a few jokes emerged, making Fu Qi and the professionals giggle uncontrollably.
In the face of such looks, Da Huang was extremely embarrassed.
"Final task, everyone, five kilometers, running... go!"
Hearing this, Fu Qi and the trainers, along with police dogs and Da Huang, started running laps around the field.
This wasn’t too difficult; dogs have plenty of energy. But gradually, Da Huang’s stamina dwindled, and no matter how Fu Qi coaxed, it wouldn’t get up from the ground, throwing a tantrum until Fu Qi had to carry him to the finish line.
Ordinary dogs would struggle with the intensity of professional trainers; Da Huang probably wouldn’t want to run anymore in the future.
"Thanks for the hard work, Brother Qi. Do you think Da Huang has any hope of becoming a police dog?" Su Qing asked, looking at the exhausted Da Huang, unable to help thanking him.
Despite everything, today he didn’t have to walk the dog himself. When Da Huang got home, it would certainly settle down and sleep, even sparing his home from being wrecked at night.
Fu Qi took a deep breath: "Uh... actually, we’re about to have a meal, why not let Da Huang stay and experience our food?"
Su Qing: ...
A great way to change the subject, Su Qing couldn’t help but look at Da Huang, giving him a little kick; it’s the only dog capable of tiring out a trainer like this.
As soon as Da Huang heard ’meal,’ it stopped playing dead, running circles around Fu Qi.
Everyone: ... 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"Thanks for the trouble, Brother Qi."
"No problem at all!"
Just as Su Qing was about to take Da Huang for a meal, Du Qiang arrived with Li Zijun.
"Having fun, aren’t you!" Li Zijun walked over and said casually.
Fu Qi couldn’t help but step forward: "Sister Li, what brings you here?"
"Looking for him," Li Zijun pointed calmly at Su Qing.
"Me? Don’t tell me there’s something again. I still have work, you know!" Su Qing shrank his head, lately he’s been really busy, there’s so much to do.
With that, he desperately signaled Zhu Lili, but seeing the shooting was done, editing instructions given, Comrade Zhu didn’t know whether she was afraid of Li Zijun or just heartless, but she simply ignored.
Next to him, Du Qiang laughed heartily: "Where’s your swagger now? Show it off, why don’t you? Afraid to do it in front of Sister Li?
Sister Li, I can testify, Pussy Pig wants to root out your cabbage!"
"You’re the pig, I’ll fight you!" Zhu Lili gritted her teeth, furious.
Seeing this, Li Zijun glared at Du Qiang, grabbed Su Qing, and started walking out, telling Fu Qi, "Leave Da Huang here for now, Lili, you watch over Da Huang!"
"Got it, Sister Li!"
Su Qing was then dragged all the way to the criminal investigation department office.
"Sister Jun, what’s up now? Don’t tell me there’s another case?" Su Qing asked helplessly.
Hearing this, Li Zijun rolled her eyes at him: "We’re a team. You not showing up day after day, what is that about? Du Qiang, brief him!"
"Uh... we got the news this morning, there’s a girl in South City Happiness District who jumped off a building."
Su Qing: ...
