My Kingdom Building Done Right!-Chapter 34: Clash At Grimjaw Mountain [Part 4]
’I-Impossible!’ Arlo’s body crashed to the ground, hit by Leone’s Stone Pillar Uppercut. ’This can’t be real!’
With a bloody jaw, Arlo propped himself up from the ground. But before he could stand up, a sharp pain exploded on his back as Ulric’s axe cut deep into his flesh.
The werewolf roared in pain, still reeling from shock and disbelief. Was he really losing?
Ulric’s Berserk Skill had already faded, and he was on his last legs. But he understood that he had to push himself and land the finishing blow on his opponent.
He could only imagine the suffering Arlo would inflict on his tribe if he failed now.
"Die!" Ulric shouted as he swung his axe one more time.
Arlo had seen Ulric’s axe coming for his head, but his body dodged slower than usual. At the last moment, he twisted his body to the side, and the axe only severed his right arm.
While he had kept his life, the injury on his back and the loss of an arm had him screaming and begging for forgiveness.
"S-Stop!" Arlo pleaded. "I surrender! Don’t kill me!"
Ulric wasn’t born yesterday. If he left Arlo alive, the Werewolf would forever be a threat to his tribe. Mustering his strength to the limit, Ulric swung one last time.
Arlo desperately tried to step back, but the axe was faster and grazed his chest, sending blood spurting like a fountain.
"Ahhhhhhhh!"
A howl filled with desperation and unwillingness to die escaped Arlo’s lips.
Ulric was also left with no strength. Falling to his knees, he clung to his axe to support his body.
The Chieftain panted for breath, his bloodshot eyes sharply staring at Arlo. He had already done everything he could, and the rest was up to his tribe members.
And they didn’t fail him.
Yuni’s arrow pierced Arlo’s back. The mounted repeating crossbows above didn’t lose out, repeatedly shooting the werewolf.
Although they had severely injured Arlo, everyone believed it wouldn’t be over until he died. They had no plans to let him escape.
"Damn it!" Arlo ran toward the path leading to the base of the mountain, using everything he had to escape.
He made a vow in his heart. If he survived this situation, he would return and make the Alborin Tribe regret this day for the rest of their lives.
Unfortunately for him, Astravor had finally returned to the cliff and dived down with its claws ready to strike.
Deprived of his full speed by his injuries, Arlo could only watch as the two massive claws descended and gripped him.
"Ahhhhhhh!" Arlo screamed in pain and horror as the gryphon took him to the skies. "Don’t kill me! I don’t want to die! Please spare me! I’ll do anything!"
He desperately struggled to free himself from the gryphon’s grasp, but Astravor’s grip was simply too steadfast. As a last resort, he pleaded. But the monster didn’t give a damn, and his words fell on deaf ears.
Astravor was merely upholding his part of the deal with the young man.
The gryphon had significantly grown in size since it had fought with the members of the Alborin Tribe. The reason was simple. It had evolved into a Royal War gryphon, a Prestige Class of its race.
With the grimoire as the middleman, Leone negotiated with Astravor. In exchange for becoming his subordinate in the upcoming battle, he would help the gryphon become stronger by giving it a Beast Awakening Potion.
The potion’s price was a staggering 10,000 BP, which Leone didn’t have. Fortunately, the Arcane Shop had a flash sale. Seeing the 99% discount, the young man went for it without hesitation.
He could have given it to his familiars, but he understood that even their awakened selves wouldn’t be strong enough to turn the tide in their favor.
When he thought of it, only one candidate within the Grimjaw Mountain would benefit greatly from the potion and potentially help them. It was none other than Astravor.
To their surprise, the gryphon easily agreed to Leone’s proposal. However, it declared that it would help them only once.
Leone and Daedalus were prepared for its agreement, so they accepted all Astravor’s conditions.
Making the powerful monster his temporary subordinate also cleared the young man’s Third Territory Mission.
With the gryphon stronger than ever, dealing with Arlo and the Allied Tribes was no longer a difficult task.
Its stats had increased drastically after its awakening, making it the ultimate Apex Predator of the Grimjaw Mountain.

Astravor flew above the clouds and screeched loudly, as if announcing its awakening to the world.
A moment later, it dived down and hurled Arlo to the Grimjaw Mountain.
The proud, arrogant, and ambitious Chieftain of the Black Wolf Tribe fell from the sky at great speeds.
In his last moments, Arlo regretted pursuing Ulric and his tribe. Had he let them go after they escaped and focused on the other tribes in the Borderlands, his dream to become the Barbarian King would have been a reality.
Unfortunately, it was already too late for regrets. He could only scream in horror as he approached the ground at a speed impossible to survive.
Arlo crashed headfirst into the path that led up to the cliff in the mountains. His head was blown apart by the impact, dying instantly.
The warriors of the Alborin went down to make sure that their enemy was truly dead. Only after seeing the werewolf’s mangled corpse did they finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Astravor circled the mountain once before flying to the location where the other barbarians had fled.
He intended to pursue them until they were miles away from his territory, ensuring they wouldn’t dare to trespass once again.
He would also kill a few of the barbarians riding on wolves, knowing they were part of the Black Wolf Tribe. Leone had also asked him to eliminate them at all costs.
