My Husband Is a Million Years Old Vampire-Chapter 87
Chapter 87: Chapter 87
The moment the elegant man entered the showroom, a shift in the air was undeniable. The staff, every single one of them, immediately straightened up, their expressions shifting from professional neutrality to pure respect. Then, almost in unison, they bowed slightly as they greeted him.
"Welcome, Mr. Harrington," they said in synchronized voices, their tone carrying an air of deep concern.
Even the sales representatives who had been attending to Raymond and Valentina instantly turned their attention toward him, their backs straightening as if they had just been presented with royalty.
The name alone—Harrington—sent an immediate jolt through the atmosphere.
At that moment Maria and Chloe exchanged glances, their once smug expressions faltering for the briefest second before Chloe crossed her arms and scoffed under her breath.
Liam, on the other hand, barely blinked, but his jaw tensed slightly. He had known the manager personally, but he hadn’t expected this man to show up in person.
Mr. Harrington’s steps were slow and deliberate as he walked through the showroom, his polished shoes clicking against the floor. He didn’t look around unnecessarily; he moved with the certainty of someone who knew he owned the space.
Then, he stopped—right in front of them.
Without hesitation, he turned to the sales representative. His voice was crisp, clear, and carried the weight of someone whose words had consequences.
"I heard someone intends to purchase the white Lamborghini Revana," he said, stating the name of the car with precise familiarity.
"I just got an urgent call. That car is no longer for sale."
The words were final.
At that moment a silence stretched through the space as the message settled over them.
Maria smirked, delighted by the unexpected turn of events, while Chloe exhaled as if finally, finally, Raymond would be put in his place.
But Raymond remained calm, Unbothered.
Then he slid his hands into his pockets and let a small chuckle escape his lips before lifting his gaze to meet Mr. Harrington’s.
"Who gave you that order?" His voice was smooth, but there was something sharp underneath it.
Hearing Raymond words Mr. Harrington turned slightly, as if only now realizing he was being challenged.
"I received a direct request,"he said, his tone still professional. "That car is no longer available."
Still Raymond’s smile didn’t falter. Instead, he took a step forward.
"A request?" he echoed. "Interesting. And who exactly made this request?"
The question caught the manager off guard.
His brows furrowed slightly as he shifted his gaze, then turned back to Raymond.
"That information—"
"Was it him?"
Raymond didn’t even hesitate as he tilted his head toward Liam, who had gone completely stiff.
Liam, who had been silently reveling in the moment, suddenly felt the heat of all eyes turning toward him.
At that moment the manager blinked.
It was then, in that single second of hesitation, that everything fell into place.
The realization hit the staff, the attendees, even Maria and Chloe, who turned toward Liam with mild confusion.
Liam’s hand clenched into a fist.
He had been caught.
And Raymond, standing there with a knowing smirk, was enjoying every second of it.
Raymond stood there, calm as ever, his hands still tucked neatly into his pockets. His sharp gaze flickered with amusement as he watched the way Maria and Chloe exchanged satisfied smirks, their eyes practically gleaming with anticipation.
They couldn’t believe what was going on, if truly Liam doesn’t want Raymond to face the car, then he’s getting it for Chloe.
They thought they had won.
Even Liam had finally relaxed, his lips curling ever so slightly into a smug smile, convinced that Raymond had finally been put in his place.
The manager, having observed Raymond up and down, seemed unimpressed. His expression carried no hint of recognition, as if Raymond was just another overambitious customer trying to reach beyond his means.
With a dismissive scoff, he folded his arms.
"I don’t see why I need to answer your question," he said, tilting his head slightly. "It won’t change anything. The car isn’t for sale—to you."
At that moment a murmur of agreement rippled through Maria and Chloe, their condescending gazes burning into Raymond like they had already declared their victory.
"So," the manager continued,
"I suggest you either look for another car or take your business elsewhere. Those are your only options."
The finality in his voice was meant to crush any remaining confidence Raymond had.
But Raymond didn’t move.
Didn’t flinch.
Instead, he simply smiled. A slow, knowing smile that sent an unsettling chill down Liam’s spine.
Maria noticed it too, but she ignored it. In her mind, there was no way Raymond could bounce back from this.
The arrogance in his eyes irritated her.
She was already celebrating.
Because, finally, finally—Raymond had lost.
At that moment Valentina could feel the tension thickening around them. The air inside the dealership had shifted, filled with silent stares and mocking glances.
The moment the manager had refused to sell the car to Raymond, she knew something was wrong. And she knew exactly who was behind it.
Then her eyes darted to Liam. His posture, the way his fingers twitched slightly near his phone—it was all too obvious. He had done something.
Raymond wasn’t stupid. He had figured it out too.
But what could he do? Liam had power, influence, and connections. There was no way Raymond could fight him on this.
She stepped closer, reaching for Raymond’s arm.
"Raymond," she murmured, her voice low enough for only him to hear. "Let’s just pick another car. There are so many beautiful ones here. And they’re even cheaper. We don’t have to make a scene over this one."
She wasn’t saying it because she didn’t want the car. She just didn’t want to see Raymond being humiliated by Liam, and in front of everyone.
But Raymond turned to her, his eyes filled with a quiet determination. He gently placed a hand over hers, his thumb brushing against her fingers as if reassuring her.
"It’s alright," he said, his voice steady, unwavering. "Nobody is going to intimidate you when I’m here." His gaze shifted toward Liam and the others, his expression unreadable. "As long as you’re my wife, nobody—nobody—is going to intimidate you."
