My Goblin System : Levelling up with my SSS Class Devouring skill-Chapter 290
"Good," Satou said. He reached up to cover one of her hands with his own. "Because with the human army marching toward my settlement, I need to know one threat is being handled so I can focus on the other."
Seraphina straightened, her expression shifting back to tactical mode. "Right. The human assault. We need to discuss defense strategies."
She moved back to her seat beside Satou, but this time she pulled her chair even closer, their legs touching under the table. "Before tactical planning, I need to know exactly what TheReaper told you about the attacking force. Specifically about these four summoned heroes."
Satou nodded, pulling up the information from TheReaper’s warning. "The leader is named Gattychan. His ability is [Villain’s Bane]—a passive power that activates when he faces someone the universe classifies as a villain. When it triggers, he gets stronger while his opponent gets weaker."
"That’s genuinely concerning," Loki said, his tactical mind already analyzing. "Subjective definitions of ’villain’ are easily manipulated. Against certain opponents, he’d have overwhelming advantage."
"His second ability is [Adaptive Evolution]," Satou continued. "Instant evolution to counter whatever threatens him. The evolutions stack permanently—he never loses adapted abilities."
"Oh, that’s just unfair," Seraphina muttered. She’d unconsciously moved her hand to rest on Satou’s thigh under the table. "Give him enough time and he becomes nearly unkillable." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"But he has to experience the threat first," Satou noted. "Which means the first hit from any new attack lands before he develops immunity."
"So overwhelming force immediately before adaptation," Loki mused. "Or attack types so devastating that one hit is lethal."
Satou continued describing the other heroes—Seraphelle the support specialist with divine healing and overpowered buffs, Mikazelle with absolute zone control and dimensional manipulation, Rindelle with catastrophic amplification abilities.
By the time he finished, both demon lords looked genuinely concerned.
"The synergy is designed for overwhelming offense with defensive backup," Loki analyzed. "Against normal demon settlements, that composition would be nearly unbeatable."
"But," Satou said with a slight smile, "they’re all inexperienced. Three weeks of training doesn’t make skilled warriors. And TheReaper provided detailed information about their weaknesses and how to counter each ability."
Seraphina’s hand squeezed his thigh. "The legendary hero actively coaching his chosen opponent. I love it."
"The humans will be furious when their assault fails," Loki added with a grin.
"Alright," Seraphina said, shifting fully into command mode despite the intimate contact she maintained with Satou. "We have two major threats. The human army in one month, and Richard Clay’s current vulnerability. Both require immediate action."
Loki stood. "For the human assault, we focus on defense. Fortifications, strategic positioning, supply stockpiles. Seraphina, can you spare troops?"
"Two hundred elite soldiers," Seraphina said immediately. "Veterans who’ve fought humans before. They’ll arrive within a week."
"I’ll match that," Loki said. "Two hundred of my best, plus specialists—siege weapon operators, defensive mages, tactical coordinators."
"Plus my settlement’s forces," Satou added. "We’ve been training constantly."
"For Richard Clay," Loki continued, "Seraphina and I mobilize our intelligence networks immediately. When we find him, we notify you, verify the connection, then strike before he returns to Chronus."
"Agreed," Satou said, his voice carrying cold determination.
Seraphina stood gracefully, though she kept one hand on Satou’s shoulder. "I need to return to my territory and start mobilizing. Every hour counts."
"Same," Loki said, moving toward the door. "Between our networks, we’ll have Richard’s location within days."
At the threshold, Loki paused and turned back. His golden eyes were serious. "Be careful, Satou. You’re at the center of multiple intersecting threats now. Any one could kill you if you’re not careful."
"I know," Satou acknowledged.
"But you have us as allies," Seraphina said, her hand moving from his shoulder to cup his face, turning him to look at her. "And I’m not in the habit of letting people I care about get destroyed by human armies or scheming Time Lords."
The intimacy in her voice made it clear this wasn’t just political alliance.
"Thank you," Satou said sincerely, covering her hand with his own. "Both of you."
Loki opened a portal—swirling colors that hurt to look at directly. "I’ll be in touch within three days with initial reports. Stay alive until then."
He stepped through and was gone.
Seraphina stayed a moment longer. She leaned down and kissed Satou—not chastely, but a full kiss that made clear their relationship to everyone watching. When she pulled back, her crimson eyes were intense.
"Stay safe," she murmured. "I’ll find Richard Clay. I promise you that. And when we take down Chronus..." She smiled, predatory and eager. "We’ll celebrate properly."
Then her wings spread fully, and she dissolved into crimson mist that dissipated like smoke.
For a long moment after she’d gone, nobody moved.
Then Jessica let out a breath. "Well. That was... enlightening."
Lyra smirked slightly. "She’s not subtle about her claim on you."
Satou felt his face heat slightly. "She’s... intense."
"She’s in love with you," Jessica said matter-of-factly. "And she wants everyone to know it."
"I know," Satou admitted quietly. He looked at both women. "Is that... are you two okay with that?"
Jessica and Lyra exchanged glances, having an entire conversation with just their eyes. Then Jessica sighed.
"We knew what we were getting into when you fell for a demon lord," she said. "Power attracts power. Seraphina is the Fourth Seat. She’s beautiful, deadly, and clearly cares about you."
"Plus," Lyra added pragmatically, "having the Fourth Seat as both ally and... lover... significantly improves our strategic position."
"That’s not why—" Satou started.
"We know," Jessica interrupted gently. "We know you care about her for her, not her position. Just like you care about us for us." She smiled, though there was complexity in it. "We can share you with Seraphina. As long as you don’t forget about us."
"Never," Satou said fiercely, standing and moving to take both their hands. "You two are... everything. Jessica, Lyra—you’re the ones I trust with my life, my secrets, my everything."
"And Seraphina?" Lyra asked quietly.
"Is someone I care about deeply," Satou admitted. "Someone who understands the weight of power and responsibility. Someone who..." He paused. "Someone who sees me as an equal, not a subordinate or an asset."
"Fair enough," Jessica said. She squeezed his hand. "Just remember—we were here first."
Despite the heavy conversation, Satou found himself smiling. "How could I forget?"
They stood there for a moment, three people bound by love and trust and shared secrets.
Then Satou pulled both women into an embrace. "Come on. Let’s get some rest. Tomorrow we start preparing for a siege, and we’ll need all our strength."
As they left the meeting room and headed back toward Satou’s quarters, the settlement around them was quiet. The residents had mostly gone to sleep, leaving only a few night guards patrolling.
The three of them walked in comfortable silence, processing everything that had been discussed. War was coming. Ancient enemies might soon fall. The strategic landscape was shifting beneath their feet.
But for now, in this moment, they had each other.
And that would have to be enough.
