My Goblin System : Levelling up with my SSS Class Devouring skill-Chapter 257
Satou cut down another five werewolves in rapid succession, his blade moving faster than most of them could perceive. [Assassination Arts - Grand Master] meant he knew exactly where to strike for instant death—severing the spine, piercing the heart, destroying the brain. Every movement was optimized for maximum lethality with minimum effort.
[Devour]
More skills and knowledge flowed into him with each absorption. The werewolves had been powerful in their own right—trained warriors with decades or even centuries of combat experience. All of that was now his.
The remaining warriors—perhaps seventy or eighty now, less than half their original numbers—finally broke completely. They turned and tried to flee in every direction, abandoning formation and coordination in favor of desperate self-preservation.
Satou let them run for about three seconds. Long enough for hope to bloom.
Then [Shadow Absolute Movement] let him appear in the path of every fleeing group simultaneously, cutting them down before they could get more than a few dozen meters.
No mercy. No quarter. No escape.
They’d attacked his people without provocation. They’d allied with a monster. They’d chosen violence when offered peace.
They would die for those choices.
Argumus, watching his entire pack being systematically slaughtered, finally snapped. His eyes widened with desperate fury, and Satou felt him activating something—a skill that burned through massive amounts of life force to create an immediate effect.
[Alpha’s Sacrifice], A skill that let pack alphas sacrifice their own vitality to enhance and control their subordinates absolutely.
Dark red energy exploded from Argumus, washing over all the remaining werewolves like a wave. Their eyes glazed over, becoming completely vacant. The fear vanished from their faces, replaced by empty determination.
They’d been turned into mindless zombies—no longer capable of fear or hesitation or self-preservation. They would fight until completely destroyed, regardless of pain or survival instinct.
The remaining fifty or so werewolves turned back toward Satou as one, moving in perfect synchronization. They charged without any of the previous hesitation, weapons raised, completely willing to die.
"Interesting ," Satou observed clinically. "Remove their ability to feel fear so they can’t be demoralized. Makes them more effective as disposable soldiers."
He raised his free hand, and [Absolute Nightmare Dominion] activated.
Reality within a hundred-meter radius changed. Shadows deepened and became almost solid. The air grew thick with oppressive dread. The ground beneath their feet turned dark and seemed to writhe with half-formed nightmares.
This was his ultimate domain ability, enhanced massively by absorbing Merc Assault’s legendary nightmare powers. Within this space, he had absolute control over the fundamental nature of reality itself.
The zombified werewolves charged into the domain without hesitation, no longer capable of feeling the supernatural terror that would have paralyzed normal beings.
But the domain didn’t just cause fear. It twisted reality.
Satou gestured, and the shadows themselves became weapons. Tendrils of solidified darkness erupted from the ground and impaled a dozen werewolves simultaneously, lifting them off the ground as their bodies convulsed.
He gestured again, and nightmare constructs materialized—semi-real beings made from pure terror that tore into the remaining werewolves with claws and fangs that ignored physical armor.
The zombified warriors fought back desperately, their enhanced coordination letting them work together even without conscious thought. They struck at the nightmare constructs, managed to destroy several of them through concentrated attacks.
It didn’t matter. Satou simply created more.
Within his domain, he was essentially a god. He could manipulate reality itself, create and destroy as he pleased, reshape the very nature of existence to suit his purposes.
The werewolves didn’t stand a chance.
But Satou noticed something as he cut down another group—they weren’t dying properly. He’d severed limbs, opened major arteries, even decapitated a few. But the bodies kept moving, kept attacking, driven by whatever dark magic Argumus had used on them.
"So that’s how it is," Satou said quietly. "You’ve turned them into something that won’t stop until completely destroyed. Very well."
He sheathed his blade and raised both hands. [Fire Manipulation] activated—a skill he’d gained long ago in the dungeon and rarely used. But enhanced by his massively increased magical power, it was far more potent now.
Flames erupted from his palms, but these weren’t normal flames. They were infused with [Void Fang]’s existence-erasing properties and [Nightmare Constructs]’ reality-warping effects. Fire that didn’t just burn—it erased.
He swept his hands across the battlefield, and the flames followed his gesture like extensions of his will. They washed over the zombified werewolves, and wherever they touched, bodies simply ceased to exist. Not burned to ash—actually erased from reality, consumed by flames that existed on multiple planes simultaneously.
The werewolves tried to dodge or defend, but zombified bodies moved clumsily despite their enhanced coordination. The flames caught them one by one, and they vanished into nothing.
[Devour] activated on each one even as they were consumed, pulling their essence into Satou before the flames could completely destroy them.
Within thirty seconds, the last of the zombified werewolves had been reduced to nothing. The battlefield was empty except for Satou and one remaining figure. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Argumus.
He stood alone now, his entire pack dead, his body trembling from the life force he’d burned through to create his zombies. His fur was streaked with gray where it had been solid before, aged decades in minutes from the cost of his skill.
He stared at Satou with eyes that had gone from furious to terrified. The full reality of what he’d tried to fight was finally sinking in.
"Please," Argumus said, his voice breaking. All the pride and rage had evaporated, leaving only desperate fear. "Please, I—I surrender. I was wrong. Merc Assault was my brother but I see now that you’re—that I can’t—please, just let me go. I’ll leave the demon realm. I’ll never come back. You’ll never see me again."
He dropped to his knees, his massive greatsword falling from nerveless fingers. "I have wealth. Information. Resources. I can give you anything you want. Just please, don’t kill me. I don’t want to die."
Satou looked down at him impassively, feeling nothing but cold assessment. This was the alpha who’d allied with a monster. Who’d supported Merc Assault’s atrocities. Who’d ordered his pack to attack without provocation.
