My Girlfriend Is So Beautiful, But She's an Assassin!-Chapter 64: Lia Meets Mr. Yanto
At 14:11, Polda Metro Jaya, Jenderal Sudirman St. ๐ง๐๐๐๐คโฏ๐๐๐ฐ๐ฃโฏ๐ญ.๐คโด๐ฎ
Lia got off her motorcycle and handed Bonang her helmet.
"You just wait here" Lia said.
Bonang accepted the helmet.
"Okay, Iโll wait at the security post!" Bonang said enthusiastically.
Lia started walking toward the building entrance.
"Thankfully, he complied, otherwise he would have gone berserk inside" Lia thought to herself, feeling relieved.
When she arrived at the reception desk, she saw three receptionists sitting thereโwaiting for visitors to arrive. Lia chose the first receptionist. Noticing a visitor, the first one immediately stood up and greeted her.
"Welcome to Polda Metro Jaya. How may I help you?" the receptionist asked politely.
Lia smiled gently at the warm welcome.
"Iโd like to meet Mr. Yanto" Lia replied.
"Excuse me, but do you have an appointment with Mr. Yanto?" the receptionist asked.
"Yes" Lia replied.
"Alright, may I ask your name?" the receptionist asked.
"LiaโLia Darmia" Lia replied.
"Alright, Miss Lia, please wait a moment. Iโll confirm with Mr. Yanto first" the receptionist said.
The receptionist reached for the PABX phone, while Lia waited with her arms crossed on the reception desk. The receptionist was connected to Mr. Yanto.
"Hello, Mr. Yanto" greeted the receptionist.
"Hello, Nica, what do you need?" Yanto asked.
"You have a visitor, a woman named Lia Darmia" the receptionist replied.
At that, Mr. Yanto immediately stood up from his seat.
"Okay, show her to my office" Yanto said.
"Okay" the receptionist said.
The receptionist hung up the phone and put it back down. Then she turned to Lia.
"Mr. Yanto asked you to go to his officeโso let me show you there" the receptionist said with a smile.
"Okay" Lia said with a smile.
The two of them walked to Yantoโs office. Upon arrival, Lia saw the sign "Ditresnarkoba" (Narcotics Directorate) displayed on the door.
"So this is the department that handles drugs and narcotics?" Lia thought to herself, staring at the sign.
At the same time, the receptionist rang the doorbell.
"Who?" Yanto asked, his voice audible through the speaker on the doorbell.
"Itโs NicaโIโve brought Miss Lia here" Nica repliedโthe receptionist who had escorted Lia.
"Okay, please come in" Yanto replied.
Nica opened the door, Nica greeted Mr. Yanto first, after that she tilted her body
"Please come in, Miss Lia" Nica said politely.
"Okay, thank you for escorting me" Lia said.
Nica simply smiled sweetly at Lia, and Lia began to enter. Once inside, Nica closed the door and returned to the reception desk. When Lia was inside, the air conditioning felt very cool. She looked left and right. On the right side were two five-tiered bookshelves, and on the left were two sofasโeach able to seat three people and two plush chairs..
"How about it? My officeโdoes it look comfortable?" Yanto asked.
Lia stopped looking around and looked aheadโto see a 40-year-old man with brown skin, brown eyes, short black hair, and a brown police uniform. It was Supriyanto, or Yanto as he was known, sitting behind his desk. His left hand held a report, while his right held a cup of coffee.
"Yes, youโre right, Mr. Yanto" Lia replied with a faint smile and closed her eyes.
Lia opened her eyes and looked to her left.
"This room has improved since I was last hereโlike the sofa, which looks like itโs been replaced" Lia said.
Lia looked to her right.
"And, youโve added another bookshelf, huh?" Lia asked.
Lia looked back at Yanto curiously.
"Is it because you like reading books, so you added another one to store your collection?" Lia asked.
Yantoโwho had been watchingโsmiled slightly. He stood up from his chair, carrying his report and coffee cup, and walked over to Lia.
"Hahaha, no. I added another bookshelf because Iโm getting more and more reports every day" Yanto replied.
Yanto was already in front of Lia.
"Isnโt there a special section that handles that?" Lia asked, surprised.
Yanto glanced at the shelves.
"There is, but the ones I put on those two shelves are the reports I havenโt finished yet" Yanto replied.
"Hmm... I see" Lia said, looking at the shelves.
"The police have a lot of work, huh..." Lia thought to herself.
Yanto interrupted Lia as she was mulling over her thoughts and staring at the shelves.
"Okay, letโs get straight to the point" Yanto said.
Lia looked ahead but couldnโt find Yanto. When she looked toward the sofa, she found Yanto already sitting on the first sofaโon the left. Lia immediately walked towards the sofa.
Lia sat on the sofa to the rightโin front of Yanto.
"So, what information did you get from interrogating the gangster leader?" Lia asked.
Yanto began laying out the five reports one by one on the table and placed his coffee cup to the left of the reports. Lia held her chin with her right hand and picked up the first page.
"The page says that the gangster leader was forced to enter the deep web to find work, such as bodyguarding or mercenary work" Yanto said.
"He posted on a platform called Mercenariesโwhich is on the deep web," Yanto continued.
Lia stopped reading the report and looked at Yanto.
"I see, theyโre still new to the deep web, not the dark web, right?" Lia asked.
"Yes, thatโs right. Maybe because their funds are still limited, they can only reach the deep web" Yanto replied.
"I see..." Lia said.
Lia looked back down at the report she was holding.
"This sheet explains why they accessed the deep web" Lia thought to herself.
Lia tried to pick up the second sheetโplacing it on top of the first. Now she was holding two sheets of the report. As she read, Liaโs expression slowly turned to one of confusion.
"Why does your expression look so confused?" Yanto asked, looking at Lia.
Lia lowered the report she was holding and then looked at Yanto.
"Iโm still confused about why on the second sheetโthe leader said he was a former soldier and had 50 troops?" Lia asked.
"Mercenaries is a platform on the deep web for people who want to apply to become mercenaries and bodyguards. So why did the leader have to say he was a former soldier? Could he really convince Clint that he was?" Lia continued.
Yanto smiled faintly, as if he had expected Lia to ask that. He picked up his coffee cup, took a small sip, and then looked at her with a serious gaze.
"When I read it, I already instructed the interrogation team to ask about it" Yanto replied.
"So whatโs the reason?" Lia asked.
"He said that during the video call with the client, he was wearing his fatherโs army uniformโwho had died in the war" Yanto replied.
Lia frowned slightly, her brow furrowing subtly.
"His fatherโs uniform? So... heโs not actually a soldier?" Lia asked, her tone filled with astonishment.
Yanto nodded slowly, then placed his coffee cup back on the table.
"Thatโs right. Based on the interrogation results, he only used the uniform to appear convincing to the client. He knows that the reputation of a former soldier is far more credible than that of a โregular gangsterโ" Yanto replied.
"You didnโt ask why he did that?" asked Lia.
"Ah, I havenโt asked him about that yet" Yanto replied.
"I see. Okay, Iโll read all these reports first, then Iโll interrogate the leader again" Lia said.
"Okay" Yanto said.
Yanto went back to drinking his coffee, while Lia reread the report.
