Chapter 368: Chapter 48: Discussion

As the sky brightened, Nan Hua finally opened his eyes. Two golden beams shot out from his eyes, lasting about two or three seconds before disappearing, and his gaze became much calmer.

His eyes glanced to the side, noticing Si Lin and the others surrounding him, watching. A hint of surprise and a touch of emotion flickered in his eyes. He knew that Gu Qingqing and the others must have known he was about to break through to the True Immortal Realm, so they were guarding him.

He was about to speak when he saw the corpses of spirit beasts not far away, and the smile on his face froze for a moment.

"What happened here?" Though he had an idea, Nan Hua stubbornly wanted to ask.

"These spirit beasts were attracted by the movement of your breakthrough," Si Lin said blandly, glancing at the bodies on the ground.

Nan Hua looked at the ground, noticing around ten or so corpses, and was a bit speechless, "That many?"

"Even more than these. These are just the ones we killed; others ran away when they couldn’t beat us," Yue Zhao explained with a faint smile on his face.

Hearing this, Nan Hua swallowed and felt even more moved in his heart.

"Thank you all," he suddenly put on a serious expression and said earnestly to Si Lin and the others.

"We’re brothers; no need to be so polite," Si Lin shot him a glance and said.

"Exactly, we’re all brothers; it’s nothing," Yue Zhao nodded in agreement with Si Lin’s words.

"Right, Senior Brother Three, why even say this? Wouldn’t you help us if we were the ones advancing?" Gu Qingqing, feeling a bit tired, leaned against Jun Wu and after hearing Nan Hua’s words, rolled her eyes and asked.

"How could that be?" Nan Hua refuted without thinking.

"There you go," Gu Qingqing smiled.

Nan Hua paused, nodded, and said nothing more on the matter.

"Congratulations, Senior Brother Three, on your advancement to the True Immortal Realm!" Gu Qingqing said happily to Nan Hua.

Hearing this, a smile appeared on Nan Hua’s face too. The Glazed Frost Flower Fan appeared in his hand, and he shook the fan, returning to his previous demeanor.

"Alright, since you’ve finished advancing, let’s pack up and continue on our way!" Si Lin, seeing Nan Hua no longer expressing gratitude, was quite satisfied and spoke to Gu Qingqing and the others.

Nan Hua nodded; everyone quickly packed up their things and tidied the surroundings. The demon cores of those spirit beasts had already been collected, and now they just gathered some meat from animals they could eat and took it with them.

They stayed in Tianqi Forest for another ten days. Gu Qingqing and the other five successively broke through to the Low-level True Immortal Realm before leaving Tianqi Forest.

Having stayed in the forest for so long, Gu Qingqing and the others felt a bit tired. After returning to Tianqi City, they bathed one by one, finally feeling much more comfortable.

Si Lin and Yue Zhao had just finished getting familiar when someone came to find them.

"Mr. Si, the Sect Master has something to discuss with you and Young Master Yue." The person was a disciple of the Haoran Sect, showing great respect when facing Si Lin.

"Do you know what it’s about?" Si Lin subconsciously frowned and asked. He wanted to spend more time with Gu Qingqing and the others, and didn’t want to go to Haoran Sect at this time.

"I heard it has something to do with the Huang Family. The Sect Master had previously looked for you, but you were not around," the disciple quickly said respectfully.

Hearing this, Si Lin had some suspicions in his mind, a trace of disgust flashed in his eyes, but his expression remained very calm, "Alright, I understand. You go back first and report to the Sect Master. Young Master Yue and I will be there shortly."

"Yes." The disciple responded and immediately retreated.

After the disciple left, Si Lin went to find Yue Zhao and told him about it.

"The Huang Family has been having conflicts with us, and this time doesn’t seem small either. Last time in Tianqi Forest, you didn’t give them any face, so it’s normal for them to come looking now. It all depends on the Sect Master’s attitude," Yue Zhao nodded, having a clear understanding of the situation. He didn’t have a good impression of the Huang Family people, but ultimately, the Haoran Sect’s stance depended on the Sect Master, and he just needed to follow orders.

"Yes, I think so too," Si Lin nodded. He shared the same thoughts as Yue Zhao. The issues between Haoran Sect and the Huang Family depended on the Sect Master’s opinion; they wouldn’t help make the decision.

The two of them talked as they hurried towards the Haoran Sect. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Haoran Sect is located on Xi Yue Mountain outside Tianqi City. As soon as Si Lin and Yue Zhao left Tianqi City, they chose to travel by sword, reaching Haoran Sect in about a quarter of an hour.

Both of them belonged to the middle ranks of Haoran Sect, and the disciples they encountered along the way respectfully saluted them.

By the time they reached the conference hall of Haoran Sect, the other mid-level and senior members of Haoran Sect were already there. When the two entered, everyone was discussing something, and upon seeing them, the entire hall fell silent for a moment.

"Si Lin, Yue Zhao, you two are finally here, please sit." Haoran Sect Master Qi Shengtian’s eyes lit up when he saw them. Originally stern-faced, he couldn’t help but smile as he greeted them.

He appeared to be around fifty years old, dressed in a dark blue brocade robe. He was of average height, with a slender frame, his black hair mixed with a few strands of white, yet carefully groomed. His face looked about thirty-something and could be considered righteous-looking, though he usually kept a stern face, his smile now looked somewhat uncomfortable.

Seeing his attitude, the mid-level and senior members of Haoran Sect exchanged glances, focusing their attention on Si Lin and Yue Zhao.

"Apologies, Sect Master. Yue Zhao and I were a bit late." Si Lin kept a stern face, slightly bowed his head, and said to Qi Shengtian.

"It’s alright, I know you went to Tianqi Forest. I was too anxious. You must have just come back from there, right?" His gaze moved from Si Lin to Yue Zhao, a hint of surprise in his eyes. "Yue Zhao has already broken through to the True Immortal Realm. It seems you gained quite a lot this time."

He knew of Yue Zhao’s previous cultivation. It wasn’t long ago that Yue Zhao had broken through to the True Immortal Realm, which sufficiently demonstrated the great talent of Yue Zhao and Si Lin. This reassured him once again that it was the right decision to have them join Haoran Sect.

"Thank you, Sect Master. It was merely by chance this time." Yue Zhao’s smile was perfect and his tone extremely calm. "May I ask why the Sect Master urgently summoned Si Lin and me?"

As he spoke, his gaze swept over the people sitting around. Those who had been staring at Yue Zhao and Si Lin quickly averted their gaze when Yue Zhao looked at them.

"It’s still about the Huang Family matter. You both know about the previous issue with the Huang Family competing with us in business. Recently, I heard they even tried to steal herbs from our disciples in Tianqi Forest. If it weren’t for Si Lin arriving in time, they might have succeeded. They have been provoking us repeatedly; our Haoran Sect is not to be trifled with. We are currently discussing how to deal with the Huang Family." It was clear that Qi Shengtian trusted Si Lin and Yue Zhao greatly, even taking the time to explain to Yue Zhao personally.

"What is the outcome of the discussion?" Si Lin glanced at the others and focused on Qi Shengtian, directly asking.

"The Elders have been discussing for half a day without reaching a conclusion." As he said this, the smile on Qi Shengtian’s face vanished, and he spoke with a flat tone.

Upon hearing this, Si Lin and Yue Zhao both glanced at the others beside them.

"And what is the Sect Master’s opinion?" Yue Zhao retracted his gaze, looked at Qi Shengtian, and asked calmly.

"My opinion is to teach the Huang Family a lesson. Let them know that our Haoran Sect is not to be provoked, and they should behave themselves." As Qi Shengtian brought this up, his eyes shone brightly.

"Sect Master, that would not be wise. The Huang Family also holds some influence in Tianqi City. The power dynamics in Tianqi City are complex. If we get into a conflict with the Huang Family, what if others take advantage of the situation?" Said the middle-aged man sitting third to the right of Qi Shengtian. He was one of the Haoran Sect elders, Zhao Qian.

"Are we to let the Huang Family trample over us? If we don’t teach the Huang Family a lesson this time, other forces will take notice, and then what?" The elder sitting opposite Zhao Qian, Zhou Xi, rebutted with dissatisfaction.

"That’s not how it works. Our Haoran Sect hasn’t just been in Tianqi City for a day or two. Other forces know of our strength; they wouldn’t easily target us because of this matter, unless they’re mad!" Said the man in a green brocade robe sitting beside Zhao Qian.

"How does Elder Wu know for certain they won’t act that way? The Huang Family is just a second-rate family in Tianqi City, yet they dare to act against us like this. If we don’t intervene, other forces will think we’re easy targets. They’re not fools; they’ll definitely seize the opportunity to snatch our resources. Should we endure that?" Zhou Xi argued back with indignation.

"..."

Just as before Yue Zhao and Si Lin arrived, the elders were once again embroiled in heated argument, while Qi Shengtian, seated in the main chair, remained silent with a darkened expression, clearly dissatisfied with their discussion.

Yue Zhao and Si Lin exchanged a glance and waited until the arguments had died down a bit before Yue Zhao spoke.

"Sect Master, I believe we should give the Huang Family a lesson. The Huang Family is merely a second-rate family in Tianqi City, yet they dare to challenge us. There might be other forces supporting them from behind. If we let them off easily, we might face not just one Huang Family later." Yue Zhao maintained a faint smile throughout, his tone neither hurried nor slow, making it easy for others to believe him.

As expected, upon hearing his words, a bit of color returned to the stern face of Qi Shengtian, and his eyes showed appreciation as he looked at Yue Zhao.

"You’re right. We should indeed teach the Huang Family a lesson and let other forces in Tianqi City know that our Haoran Sect is not so easily bullied!" He praised Yue Zhao, his gaze scanning over the others as he spoke.

The elders who supported teaching the Huang Family a lesson were naturally excited, while those who opposed lowered their heads, not daring to meet Qi Shengtian’s eyes.
