My Five Bigshot Seniors: I am The Most Coddled Junior!-Chapter 353 - 33: Huo An
When Gu Qingqing started her cultivation, the room was filled with a large amount of Immortal Qi, which entered her body. Her absorption rate was more than twice as fast as before. She had advanced to the Mid-level Heavenly Immortal a while ago, but due to the previous lack of a cultivation technique, her cultivation speed slowed down considerably. Now with a cultivation technique, her absorption of Immortal Qi accelerated, and after an hour, she directly broke through to become a High-level Heavenly Immortal.
When she opened her eyes, Gu Qingqing wore an expression of delight.
"Ah Wu, this cultivation technique is truly remarkable. No wonder the master found it," she said to Jun Wu, getting off the bed and sitting opposite him.
"Hmm, at your current cultivation speed, you probably won’t need more than a month to reach the True Immortal Realm," Jun Wu also felt happy for Gu Qingqing. He poured a glass of Immortal Fruit Juice, which Gu Qingqing loved, and placed it in front of her.
Gu Qingqing took it and drank it in one gulp. Holding the cup, she looked outside and noticed it was getting late. She recalled they had been busy with apprenticeship and moving recently and hadn’t had a chance to properly explore Langya Immortal Sect, which sparked an idea in her mind.
"Ah Wu, I heard there’s a bustling workshop at the foot of the mountain. Since we’re free today, why don’t we go check it out?" As a girl, she couldn’t resist shopping, and the more she talked about it, the more excited she became. She walked over and pulled Jun Wu’s arm.
Jun Wu glanced at the sky but didn’t refuse. Following Gu Qingqing’s lead, he stood up, and together they left the cave dwelling and headed down the mountain.
Since arriving in the Immortal Realm, they had been busy earning money and cultivating. Then, they prepared for the income test of Langya Immortal Sect. Their nerves had been taut the entire time. Now that they had become direct disciples of Langya Immortal Sect and could receive various resources monthly, they had settled in the Immortal Realm. Even if Gu Qingqing hadn’t suggested it, Jun Wu would have taken her out to relax.
Gu Qingqing wanted to invite Nan Hua and Mu Chen, but Jun Wu stopped her. Having finally gotten a chance to be alone with Gu Qingqing, Jun Wu didn’t want to tag along with Nan Hua and Mu Chen too.
The workshop at the foot of Langya Mountain was almost like a small town. It had inns, taverns, auction houses, medicine shops, elixir rooms, weapon shops—everything one might need. There were even disciples of the Langya Immortal Sect setting up stalls to sell things they brought back from their experiences outside.
Both Gu Qingqing and Jun Wu were wearing the purple robes of direct disciples, making them the center of attention wherever they went. Yet, the two appeared completely unaware, immune to the gazes around them, and strolled around on their own.
...
Song Xinrong suffered a setback with Lou Mingyu but didn’t want to just give up. In recent times, she hadn’t been idle in the Outer Sect either. When people came to visit her, she took the opportunity to learn a lot about the affairs of Langya Immortal Sect.
Currently, among the younger generation, besides Lou Mingyu, there were several other peak masters’ direct disciples who were equally outstanding. However, Lou Mingyu, being the Sect Master’s direct disciple and having the highest cultivation among the young generation, was the most noticeable to Song Xinrong.
Since things weren’t working out with Lou Mingyu, Song Xinrong shifted her attention to others, specifically to Huo An, the direct disciple of the Cangmu Peak Master.
Huo An wasn’t taken in through the disciple recruitment test; rather, Cangmu Peak Master Xiang Baiqing picked him up outside. Raised since childhood by Xiang Baiqing, Huo An enjoyed a bond stronger than a father-son relationship, with Xiang Baiqing showing him great affection.
The first four direct disciples of Xiang Peak Master were significantly older than Huo An. Having watched him grow up, they, like Xiang Peak Master, also favored him. Huo An, now twenty-six, still had a naive disposition due to their doting nature.
Song Xinrong thought Huo An was promising, as his naive nature made him easy to manipulate. She used her recently established network to successfully gather information on Huo An. Knowing he was at the workshop, she immediately tidied herself up and headed there.
Huo An was currently in front of a dessert shop. The desserts there were known for their great taste and were quite popular in Langya Immortal Sect, often requiring a long wait to buy them.
Huo An liked the chestnut pastry from the dessert shop. Usually, other disciples queued for him, but since he was in the workshop today, he decided to queue himself.
By the time Song Xinrong arrived, Huo An had just bought his favorite chestnut cake and was eagerly stuffing a piece into his mouth. Tasting the rich chestnut flavor, he happily squinted his eyes.
Walking and eating his chestnut cake, he had eyes only for the dessert, oblivious to everything around him.
Song Xinrong narrowed her eyes, thought for a moment, and then walked straight towards Huo An. As she passed him, the handkerchief she was holding accidentally flew out, directly towards Huo An.
Just as the handkerchief was about to land on Huo An, his figure suddenly vanished, reappearing a few steps away. Seeing the handkerchief fall to the ground, he looked slightly surprised and somewhat bewildered in his expression.
"So it was a handkerchief," he said blankly.
Song Xinrong was taken aback by Huo An’s reaction. She watched in disbelief as her handkerchief hit the ground, and when she heard Huo An murmur, she couldn’t help but twitch her mouth. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Unhappily, she retrieved her handkerchief and pondered her next move. Her eyes lit up when they landed on the chestnut cake in Huo An’s hand, and she quickly stepped to his side.
"Senior Brother, is this chestnut cake tasty?" She asked Huo An with wide-eyed curiosity.
Huo An cautiously clutched his chestnut cake closer, eyed Song Xinrong warily, suspecting her desire to buy it. His eyes darted around as he stored the cake in his Qiankun Ring, pulling a face of disdain, "The chestnut cake isn’t tasty; you shouldn’t buy it."
With that, he attempted to leave, but Song Xinrong wasn’t going to let him go and quickly blocked his path.
"Then, Senior Brother, could you tell me which pastry is good?" Still undeterred, she gazed at Huo An, nibbling her lower lip as she appeared pitiful.
Despite his naivety, Huo An had sharp instincts. His initial impression of Song Xinrong wasn’t good, and he was even more displeased to see her stopping him continuously, "Peach blossom cake is good, girls all like it."
Having said that, he promptly sidestepped Song Xinrong and dashed away.
Song Xinrong was about to catch Huo An but saw he was already far off, as if being chased by something, leaving her speechless.
"Is this naïve or just plain foolish? Such a beautiful girl like me throwing herself at him, and yet he reacts as if I’m some monster. They must have something wrong with their brains!" Song Xinrong thought that all the direct disciples of Langya Immortal Sect had some mental issues as even a beauty like her couldn’t captivate them!
Frustrated by consecutive setbacks, Song Xinrong was about to head back when she noticed Gu Qingqing and Jun Wu shopping nearby, looking quite close. Her eyes flickered with a dark light, rolled her eyes slyly, rearranged herself, and confidently approached Gu Qingqing and Jun Wu.
