My Five Bigshot Seniors: I am The Most Coddled Junior!-Chapter 317 - 185: Xuantian Continent’s Promotion
Time flies, and another year has passed in the blink of an eye.
The Sub-immortal Realm remains the same as before. Since the Demon Path was destroyed, the Sub-immortal Realm has become much more tranquil, and any remnants of the Demon Path that occasionally appear are quickly eradicated.
For others, life seems unchanged, but for Jun Wu and the others, it is very trying.
Because Gu Qingqing has been gone for two years, and during these two years, not a single piece of news about her has come back, as if she has vanished from this world.
During this time, Jun Wu traveled alone all over the Sub-immortal Realm, deepening his understanding of heaven and earth significantly, and his cultivation has also improved a lot.
Like Jun Wu, Yue Zhao and others have also been striving with all their might to improve themselves during Gu Qingqing’s absence, hoping to help her the next time she encounters such an incident, rather than just watch her leave.
In contrast, the changes on the Xuantian Continent are significant.
If Yue Zhao and the others were to return to the Xuantian Continent, they would find that the concentration of Spiritual Energy on the Xuantian Continent is now almost as rich as that of the Sub-immortal Realm. Many people on the Xuantian Continent, after cultivating to the Peak of the sixth rank, can no longer break through to the seventh rank, no matter how much they accumulate Spiritual Power, let alone ascend to the Sub-immortal Realm, which many find baffling.
And above the sky of the Xuantian Continent, in the deepest palace, Gu Qingqing still sits calmly.
Compared to two years ago, she has matured a lot, remaining beautiful and still unattainable.
At the same time, the aura around her has become incredibly frightening.
If there were still people who dared to look at her directly before, now they wouldn’t even dare to have that thought!
This is because her understanding of the rules of the Heavenly Dao has deepened, and the aura of the Heavenly Dao around her has become ever more intense, and so has her majesty.
On this day, her long-closed eyes trembled slightly and then slowly opened, a silver light quickly flashing across her eyes, with tiny fragments of light in her pupils like stars.
She looked into the distance, her gaze seeming to see through everything, giving people a feeling of being exposed, which lasted for about ten breaths. She lowered her eyelids, then stood up.
Due to a long period of inactivity, her body was still a bit stiff, her movements somewhat slow, but it couldn’t hide the Power of Laws she emitted with every gesture.
After standing up and moving a bit, she glanced around, and with a flash, disappeared from the room. In the next moment, her figure appeared among the clouds outside the palace.
At this time, the entire Xuantian Continent was shrouded in darkness, not because it was nighttime, but because her cultivation had improved, and the Xuantian Continent had reached a turning point in progress.
This is the trial of the world’s will for the Xuantian Continent. Should it pass, the Xuantian Continent will ascend, becoming a high plane like the Sub-immortal Realm. If it fails, then the Xuantian Continent might revert to its state before Gu Qingqing became the Heavenly Dao, or perhaps even worse.
When Gu Qingqing looked into the depth of the clouds, those with the highest cultivation on the Xuantian Continent also looked towards the sky, sensing something but not daring to be sure, only able to pray silently.
Gu Qingqing couldn’t care less about the thoughts of these people. At this moment, all her energy was focused on a specific point in the sky, where she felt the power of Laws.
For humans to ascend to immortality, they need to pass through a Heavenly Tribulation, just as Gu Qingqing and the others did when they promoted to Half-step Immortal, but for a plane to be promoted, it’s not just a Heavenly Tribulation. It also requires contending with the Heavenly Dao and Laws, and if successful, it can ascend.
What awaits Gu Qingqing now is a confrontation with the Rules generated by the world’s will.
Two years ago, Gu Qingqing might have been worried, but after two years of cultivation and understanding of the Rules, she feels confident in succeeding this time.
Because of this, her eyes are filled with determination.
The Rules within the clouds brewed for a long time, and Gu Qingqing stood there, waiting for her opponent to make a move.
The first to appear was a golden light, which looked extremely sharp, like a long spear, mingling with hostility as it charged towards Gu Qingqing.
Gu Qingqing raised her eyebrows slightly, not expecting the first Rule to be the Golden Rule among the five elements. She took a deep breath, raised her right hand, and a golden light appeared in her palm, which quickly transformed into a small shield. The patterns on the shield were very intricate, dizzyingly swirling about, and one who practices this skill would discover that the shield contained many great Dao.
"Go!"
Gu Qingqing gently opened her mouth, waved her hand, and the shield flew from her hand, swiftly transforming into a normal-sized shield.
The golden shield floated in front of Gu Qingqing, unwaveringly blocking the golden spear as it thrust forward, preventing it from advancing any further. Gu Qingqing stepped forward, placed her hand behind the shield, activated the Power of Laws, and pushed. The spear was bounced back, gradually disintegrating into particles along the way, and then vanished.
After confirming the spear’s disappearance, Gu Qingqing gestured, and the shield shrank and flew back into her palm. She clenched her fist, and the shield disappeared.
On the Xuantian Continent, all anyone could see were two extremely bright golden lights colliding, and then one disappeared while the other stayed for a moment before vanishing as well.
The next to appear was a mass of green light, from a distance exuding a vast vitality, representing the Wood Law among the Five Elements Laws.
Gu Qingqing frowned slightly, thought for a moment, and once again extended her right hand. This time, a golden light appeared in her palm. Unlike before, this time it did not form a shield but transformed into a long spear.
After being thrown by Gu Qingqing, the golden spear instantly enlarged, charging directly at the mass of Wood Law.
Upon collision, the spear formed by the Golden Rule penetrated directly through the green mass of Wood Law. Instantly, the green light disintegrated into particles, disappearing into the air just like the Golden Rule did earlier.
Next came the blue Water Law, the red Fire Law, the yellow Earth Law...
Gu Qingqing easily neutralized all the Five Elements Laws, followed by the cyan Wind Law and the purple Thunder Law, which, although more challenging, were also dissolved by her.
Finally, only two Laws remained, those being the Time Law and Space Law.
The Power of Laws of these two did not have representative colors like the previous ones and couldn’t be perceived intuitively.
As Gu Qingqing pondered how the world’s will would test these two Laws, she felt a subtle change in her surroundings.
Soon after, she witnessed great transformations—oceans turning to mulberry fields and the emergence and extinction of a continent. She frowned, realizing this was the world’s will testing the Time Law. Closing her eyes, impressions of her understanding of the Time Law filled her mind; when she opened them again, everything around her had changed once more.
The once-extinct continent reappeared, resembling its pre-extinction state, then everything seemed to rewind as the continent returned to prosperity before ultimately reverting to its appearance upon first emergence.
The transformation of the oceans and mulberry fields replayed backward too, and under her control, the time needed was precisely the same as what she had just experienced, demonstrating her mastery over the Power of Time.
After the Time Law was tested, the Space Law followed.
She waited for a while but noticed nothing amiss. Upon a sudden flash of insight, she flickered to appear before a towering mountain, extended her hand in a chopping gesture, and the mountain was cleaved in half, supported by her hands. Then she flickered again to another location to set the severed portion of the mountain down.
Next, she swiftly traversed every locale in the Xuantian Continent—mountains, deep valleys, oceans, skies, swamps, deserts... She visited every possible place.
Once she felt she’d completed enough, she returned to the clouds, just as a thick purple-black lightning bolt dashed toward Gu Qingqing with thunderous speed. She was momentarily stunned but then stretched out her hand, where the golden shield she used earlier resurfaced, to shield her from the lightning.
The lightning struck the shield, leaving several cracks. However, it withstood the impact without being shattered.
In the wake of the lightning, a pure energy mass floated before Gu Qingqing. She withdrew the shield, eyed the tempting pure energy before her, then smirked, extending a hand to touch it.
The energy swiftly surged into her body, from where a powerful aura emanated.
Those living on the Xuantian Continent felt the Spiritual Power around them become denser, more than twice what it had been before, while those stuck at the sixth stage’s peak, unable to advance to the seventh stage, suddenly broke through.
Upon their breakthrough, a voice echoed in their minds, informing them that the Xuantian Continent had been upgraded. From now on, they would only ascend to immortality at the Immortal Rank; they would no longer ascend upon reaching the seventh stage.
No matter how shocked these people felt upon receiving this news, Gu Qingqing felt distinctly different after acquiring that energy mass. She had used up a considerable amount of Heavenly Dao Power to pass the world’s will test, and this energy mass perfectly replenished what she lost. Furthermore, the Laws contained within the energy deepened her understanding of Rule Power.
When she awoke again, the Xuantian Continent had ascended, fully transforming into a high-level plane akin to the Sub-immortal Realm.
Finally achieving results after such hard work, Gu Qingqing was incredibly pleased, though even more so by finally being able to seek out Jun Wu. Heaven knew how much she missed Jun Wu!
With these thoughts in mind, she couldn’t wait to part ways with the Heavenly Dao Avatar. Even though she was no longer the Heavenly Dao, her cultivation had reached the Peak of Half-step Immortal Rank, meaning it wouldn’t be long before she faced the Heavenly Tribulation and then ascended!
She didn’t care about these matters anymore; her figure flashed, and she left the Xuantian Continent.
