Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Unable to Escape Gryphonpeak

Nina Wynn had already stood up. She had witnessed the entire beating Caleb Rhodes just delivered. As she watched the man who was hit, her expression grew dazed.

In a daze, she recalled all the times she had been beaten over the years.

’When Crystal Rhodes and her friends pinned me to the ground and stomped on me, was I just like this man? As laughable and pathetic as a dog, like some beast?’

’The Rhodes Family... they’re all the same. Even the way they beat people is identical!’

Soon, the man was carried out.

Nina Wynn tore her gaze away from the man and said softly, "Third Lord Master, I came in on my own."

That title, "Third Lord Master," felt both strange and familiar.

Caleb Rhodes whirled around and stared at her, his tone ice-cold. "What did you call me?"

Nina Wynn lowered her head, her hands clenched into tight fists. "President Rhodes. Master Rhodes."

Caleb Rhodes’s gaze turned colder, his voice laced with a dangerous chill. "Who brought you in here?"

Nina Wynn raised her head, meeting Caleb Rhodes’s gaze directly. "I came on my own, Third Lord Master. Did I interrupt your debauchery?"

Her voice was still soft, but it dripped with sarcasm.

It was nothing like what the usually sweet and docile girl would say.

Caleb Rhodes had never been spoken to so sarcastically in public, and by none other than the delicate little thing he thought he had wrapped around his finger.

An immense fury erupted in his chest. Caleb Rhodes narrowed his eyes, and the atmosphere became dangerously frigid.

"Nina Wynn, say that again!"

Nina Wynn dug her nails into her palms, her gaze flickering to the two girls who had been by Caleb Rhodes’s side.

’Hot pants and tiny tops. So young and fresh!’

’He likes them young? Likes keeping pets?’

’A harem of three thousand golden canaries, and I’m just one of them?’

Suddenly, her stomach churned violently. The urge to vomit sent a shiver through her, and she took a step back. Two words burst into her mind: "So filthy!"

The thought had barely formed when she realized she had actually spoken them aloud.

Caleb Rhodes’s expression changed in an instant. His tone was as cold as shards of ice as he bit out two words through gritted teeth: "Nina Wynn!"

His hand shot out, grabbing her arm and yanking her in front of him.

"What did you say?"

Nathan Fletcher had clearly heard the two words as well. He quickly stepped forward to pull Caleb Rhodes back. "Calm down. She can’t handle you when you’re like this!"

After speaking, he couldn’t help but take a closer look at Nina Wynn.

The more he watched, the more he felt something was off about them. The girl he’d taken for a timid little thing had actually dared to mock Caleb Rhodes. And while Caleb was furious, he looked as if he couldn’t bring himself to punish her severely.

Nathan Fletcher laughed. "Hey, little lady, I’m the one who called all these girls over. They’re with me, it has nothing to do with Caleb!"

With that, he clapped his hands and clicked his tongue. "Come on, girls, all of you over here. Come fill up my glass!"

The room finally stirred back to life.

Nathan Fletcher returned to his seat and began explaining something to the four foreigners, who looked extremely displeased.

His voice was low, but Nina Wynn still managed to hear much of what he said.

"President Rhodes’s little mistress..."

"He’s pampering her, still in the honeymoon phase..."

"That guy crossed one of Caleb’s lines..."

...

Nina Wynn’s face grew paler and paler, and her stomach churned violently. Overwhelmed with sickness, she wrenched her arm free from Caleb Rhodes’s grasp and fled the room.

The moment she was out the door, she rushed to the public restroom and began to vomit violently.

She threw up everything she had eaten for lunch, until finally, she was just retching up bile.

After she was done, she rinsed her mouth and looked in the mirror. Her complexion was awful, her damp hair stuck to her face. She looked pathetic.

Just then, the housekeeper’s voice came from behind her. "Miss Wynn, the Third Lord Master sent me to bring you back. It’s time for your medicine."

Nina Wynn knew this was Caleb Rhodes’s territory; she wasn’t foolish enough to resist directly.

In silence, she returned to the suite with the housekeeper.

At some point, massive bouquets of white roses had been delivered. They were everywhere—the living room, the bedroom, the table in the courtyard, and even in the hot spring room.

They were exquisitely beautiful, looking both pure and sensual, their fragrance assaulting the senses.

In this environment, Nina Wynn threw up the medicine she had just swallowed.

She didn’t touch her afternoon snack. Anything she ate, she threw up.

Before dinner, Caleb Rhodes returned.

The sky had not yet fully darkened. Caleb Rhodes appeared before Nina Wynn, dressed in a white shirt and black pants.

The white was elegant and coolly aloof, the black was steady and reserved. His attire was just like his personality.

’And yet, with such a clean and noble appearance, he was still a man who took whatever he wanted by force.’

’Just as you’d expect from a member of the Rhodes Family. He had the same blood as Crystal Rhodes and Zyler Rhodes.’

A cool breeze swept past, and Nina Wynn couldn’t help but shiver.

Caleb Rhodes watched her, his eyes cold and dark, still simmering with the residual anger from earlier.

Neither of them spoke, unwilling to break the awkward impasse.

After a moment, Caleb Rhodes went inside.

He came out a short time later, having changed his clothes.

It was another fine white shirt, and he carried the crisp scent of cedar. In the evening light, his clean, distinguished aura seemed to almost glow.

Nina Wynn kept her eyes lowered as she broke the silence. "How are you going to punish me?"

Caleb Rhodes’s eyes glinted, his voice frigid. "You think I’m filthy?"

Nina Wynn kept her head down, not looking at him. "I wouldn’t dare."

’Master Rhodes, high and mighty, with all his power and money. He can blot out the sky with one hand and turn the world upside down on a whim. All the women in Elysian City flock to him. Who would dare to find him filthy?’

Seeing Nina Wynn’s persistently strange attitude, the anger Caleb Rhodes had been suppressing began to bubble to the surface again.

But her face was pale and her expression listless. In the end, he couldn’t bring himself to deal with her right away. He suppressed his anger and said in a low voice, "Those guests are extremely important partners. They’re here in Veridia to discuss a deal. The two Asian men want to invest in Nathan Fletcher’s entertainment company, so he had some of his newly scouted models come over to entertain them."

To say so much in one go was a first for him.

Nina Wynn didn’t know why he felt the need to explain this to her. She glanced up at him, her tone still listless. "You don’t have to explain so much to me, Third Lord Master. It has nothing to do with me."

’In their circle, that sort of thing wasn’t the least bit strange. She had just felt sick, and the words had slipped out in a moment of impulse. It had nothing to do with how many models he’d called over.’

’As for how he wanted to punish her, she could only endure it. For now, she was powerless to escape his Gryphonpeak.’

’Now she only had one thought: to wait until he grew tired of this game and let her go.’

Hearing that strange tone again, Caleb Rhodes could no longer contain his anger. He grabbed her arm, pulled her in front of him, and gripped her small chin. His voice was as cold as ice. "Nina Wynn, my patience isn’t as boundless as you seem to think."

He was strong. Nina felt as if her jaw would break from his grip, but she just stared at him without a word, her small lips pressed tightly together in a silent refusal to speak.

Seeing her like this, Caleb Rhodes felt a hot surge of rage in his chest.

He narrowed his eyes, tightening his grip. "Speak!"
