Chapter 157: Chapter 157: Tycoon Tea Party

This season’s tea party segment was strangely grand.

Day had just broken, and the celebrity guests were still gradually waking up. Director Coleman was already leading a large group of staff, moving ingredients into the teahouse’s kitchen. Walking past the stairwell, Music King Scott casually glanced at the labels on the ingredients:

"Top-tier ingredients, air-freighted? Does the show have this much funding for this episode?"

Chloe Chambers, just coming in from her morning workout, chimed in, "There are three helicopters unloading cargo at the entrance. It’s all National Banquet-grade. We’re in for a real treat today."

They both knew that the investors coming today, including Chloe Chambers’s backer, Chairman Young, were on a completely different level from the guests of previous seasons. But on second thought, even if today’s arrivals were all financial titans backing the well-connected cast, the production team still seemed to be going a little overboard.

Unless... an even more distinguished guest was on the way.

But that wasn’t something for celebrity guests like them to worry about.

Celia Sterling and Silas Norwood arrived around noon as usual, dressed in matching casual outfits and acting affectionately as they entered the venue.

Celia Sterling glanced at the bustling staff and what looked like temporarily hired master chefs, who were all incredibly busy. In the open-air venue, a stylish buffet table had been set up. Cakes, red wine, freshly squeezed juice, and high-end ingredients were being arranged in exquisite, single-serving portions. In a lounge area in the corner, Celia even spotted a piano and a violin, which two artistic-looking men in suits were busy tuning.

As Celia Sterling and Silas Norwood sat down in the guest area, Chloe Chambers approached them with a smile. "Have you two had lunch? The pastry chef they hired today makes excellent cakes. If not, you can have some to tide you over."

"I’ll go get some." Silas Norwood stood and walked toward the buffet area.

Seeing that everyone else was busy with their own conversations, Chloe Chambers lowered her voice and said to Celia Sterling, "My husband came on his private jet, and we’re flying back to Metropia at midnight. From the looks of it, the big shots coming today are no simple characters, and it’s bound to be a mixed crowd. If you and your husband change your minds and want to come back to Metropia with us, just let me know."

"Thank you for thinking of us, Senior Chambers. But since my brother is coming, there’s nothing to be afraid of." Celia Sterling gave a half-joking smile. "You’ll know when you see him. He’s a very domineering and forceful person. Not many people can get the better of him."

Not to mention, she had Silas Norwood right here, the ultimate boss of the entertainment industry, holding down the fort.

With these two around, no matter how many demons and monsters came calling, they would all have to obediently keep their human skins pulled on tight.

Chloe Chambers laughed and chimed in, "Now that you put it that way, I’m getting curious."

"He’s already on his plane; he’ll be here in two hours," Celia Sterling remarked. "Senior Chambers, when he arrives, could my brother and I get a photo with you? You don’t know this, but my brother and I have binged practically every series you’ve ever made."

"Of course. We can even add each other on WeChat. We’re all in Metropia, so we should get together sometime." Chloe Chambers glanced at the time. "My Old Man Young will be here a bit earlier. He’s already landed and is on his way over now. I’ll introduce you two later."

Silas Norwood returned with a small plate of cute, rabbit-shaped cakes.

"What’s the happy conversation about?" Silas Norwood handed her the plate and casually pinned up her hair.

Celia Sterling was dressed in a casual, traditional-style long dress today. Its intricate, dark-colored patterns and her diamond-studded flats perfectly matched the poetic, misty ambiance of Jorvik. Her jet-black hair hung loose, tied simply with a silver ribbon, giving her a languid air that was a departure from her usual crisp, bright look.

He used a jade hairpin to sweep up her cascading hair. The pad of Silas Norwood’s finger brushed the side of her face. Her skin was like cream, and the dark strands of her hair curling around his fingers sent a tickle of desire through him.

"We were talking about Senior Chambers’ husband." Celia Sterling rubbed her cheek against his palm and answered while taking a small bite of cake. "They’re from The Capital Circle, and his business is quite diversified. You might know him."

Silas Norwood hadn’t paid any attention to Chloe Chambers’s husband’s family, but he knew several wealthy men with the surname Young. He couldn’t place him right away, so he just gave a noncommittal "mhm."

As Chloe Chambers expected, her husband, Chairman Young, was indeed the first to arrive.

Chairman Young, a man in his sixties, didn’t come from a prestigious family. He was, however, both lucky and capable. He had started from scratch, building a restaurant chain group before expanding into e-commerce and the textile industry. Over the years, he had accumulated a considerable fortune. Aided by the prestige of his wife, the award-winning actress Chloe Chambers, his business had boomed. His life of comfort had softened his features, giving him a peaceful, prosperous air.

The guests hurried forward to greet him. Although Chairman Young was an industry outsider, his net worth was more substantial than the backers of several of the other well-connected guests. He was the kind of man people fawned over wherever he went. Even Director Coleman and the host chatted with him solicitously for a while before yielding the floor to Chloe Chambers.

In front of the cameras, Chloe Chambers didn’t shy away, giving Chairman Young a hug. The two chatted with easy harmony. Through the crowd of guests greeting him, Chloe spotted Celia Sterling and Silas Norwood still in their original spot and gently nudged her husband.

"Old Man Young, come meet a young friend I’ve made."

Chairman Young smiled amiably and followed her toward a quieter corner, casually glancing in the direction she indicated.

And saw Silas Norwood standing there, noble and aloof.

Chairman Young’s steps suddenly faltered.

Chloe Chambers glanced at him, her voice dropping a notch. "Old Man Young?"

"Dear, I’ll catch up with you in a moment." Chairman Young took a deep breath, his expression turning serious. He cleared his throat, subconsciously straightened his clothes, and then walked toward Silas Norwood with quick yet polite steps.

Silas Norwood had seen Chairman Young as well, his amber eyes watching calmly as he approached.

Soon, they were only a meter or two apart—a social distance that was not overly familiar, yet not distant.

"Chairman Norwood! It’s really you!" Chairman Young’s face was all smiles, his tone exceptionally respectful. "I never expected to see you here. And this must be your wife? I’ve long heard that you and your wife are a match made in heaven. My sincerest congratulations!"

Silas Norwood nodded slightly. "So, you’re Senior Chambers’ husband."

"You two actually know each other?" Celia Sterling asked, curious. Beside her, Chloe Chambers also had a look of surprise. ’My Old Man Young has a very straightforward personality. I’ve rarely seen him so respectful and cautious with anyone. It seems this Mr. Norwood’s background... is beyond anything I imagined.’

"We played golf once and went fishing once," Silas Norwood explained gently. "We’ve also had some business dealings."

"You’re too generous, Chairman Norwood, haha. My humble business isn’t even a scrap off your table. At best, we’re just tangentially related to one of the Norwood Group’s supply chains."

After his humble words, Chairman Young immediately turned to introduce him to his wife. "Dear, this is Chairman Norwood, the head of the Norwood Group."

Chloe Chambers: "..."

’I knew Silas Norwood’s identity was extraordinary, but I never imagined it was *this* extraordinary.’

’My Old Man Young is now considered quite wealthy, but he hasn’t even managed to squeeze into the circle of prestigious families in Metropia. The Norwood Family, however, is the most lavish and deeply rooted of Metropia’s few great houses. The difference between the two is like heaven and earth.’

Now, she suddenly understood Director Coleman and the others’ strangely deferential attitude toward Silas Norwood.

Her expression was complicated as she looked at Celia Sterling. ’So, the young friend I’ve been getting along so well with these past two days is the very same eldest daughter of the Sterling Family that netizens have been going crazy with envy over?’

’Then the brother she just said was coming is...’

’Kian Sterling?’

A mix of complex feelings welled up in Chloe Chambers, and a sense of unreality washed over her.
