My Favorite Game Followed Me!-Chapter 735
Chapter 735
Even though the young elves with Anton agreed that the Avatar movie franchise and the Lord of the Rings franchise should not be compared with each other simply because they were two different genres, it was inevitable that they would keep doing so.
“The music in the two Lord of the Rings films that we’ve seen was sublime. Whenever I hear them, I cannot help but be transported to their world. The Avatar films did not have that,” Andevon said.
“The songs at the end of the movie were also magnificent. It was like summarizing, not the story, but the feelings the heroes had during the experiences they had encountered in trying to save their friends. The fact was, most of the people there were not trying to save their world, but more like they were trying to save their friends. It felt more personal,” Nemerielle added, and everyone seemed to agree with the two beautiful elves.
If Anton was being honest, he would have agreed with anything the two beautiful elven girls said simply because he was still enamored with them, but just like everyone else, he fully agreed with whatever they were saying about the films. Besides, everyone already knew that the Lord of the Rings movies were his favorite.
Anton did not know why he had not mentioned to the forest elves that there were three prequel films in The Hobbit film franchise. Unlike a lot of the Lord of the Rings fans, he liked the prequel films, but he agreed with them that the prequel films were a little less than the three original movies.
The truth was, Anton was not planning to show movie franchises anymore. He already told Enoril that after the Return of the Rings, he stopped showing movies for three days so he could explore the surrounding areas of their kingdom. Once he returned from his exploration, he would still show the elves some movies, but would stick to single films, not franchises. He wanted to avoid committing to staying longer than necessary in the forest elves’ kingdom. His goal was to continue exploring the Northern Forest, and then he would move forward to the northern kingdom of Enundia.
Not that Anton was rushing. It was just that the forest was extremely huge, and he wanted to explore a large part of it, and he knew that it would take a long time for him to do so. The good thing about his Diablo system was that he could continue leveling up his characters while he was in the middle of his exploration.
Soon, the forest elves asked Anton which movies he planned to show them next after the Lord of the Rings franchise. He then told them what he had told Enoril: he would stop showing films for around three days because he planned to explore the surrounding area. Thankfully, the elves were polite enough not to argue with him, and instead, six of them, the ones who invited Anton to hunt elk, volunteered to guide him in the most interesting places one could find near their kingdom. Unfortunately, the places where they could go would be limited due to it being the middle of winter, and they would need to prepare resources that would allow them to hole themselves up if they got stuck in the middle of nowhere inside a blizzard.
The young people continued hanging out with each other for the whole day until Lendoril fetched him. After they ate dinner, they headed directly to the hall where the movies were being shown to the forest elves, and soon, everyone had seen the last film in the Lord of the Rings movie franchise.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
By the time the movie ended, no eyes were dry. Even Anton, who had seen the film several times, cried his eyes out. There were simply so many scenes in the last film that would pull the heartstrings of anyone watching it. Anton cried during the scene when Aragorn and the others ran towards the enemy while saying the words “For Frodo!”. He cried so hard on the scene where Sam said to Frodo, “I can’t carry it for you, but I can carry you!”, then Sam proceeded to carry Frodo toward their goal. He cried when Aragorn told the four hobbits, “My friends, you bow to no one,” then proceeded to bow towards the hobbit with everyone following him. He cried when Frodo said goodbye to everyone and boarded the ship together with Gandalf. And lastly, he cried during the scene when Sam went home, and his family greeted him.
Thankfully, everyone cried with him, so he was not embarrassed that his face was red from crying.
When the song “Into the West” by Annie Lennox floated while the credits were being shown, everyone looked like they were in the middle of reminiscing about the experiences that they had during the adventures of the heroes of the films. Everyone felt that they had journeyed together with them, so when the movie ended, there was a bittersweet feeling in the air.
When the movie screen dimmed, everyone clapped so hard, and Anton could see that a lot of the elves were still crying. The discussion started soon after. Anton kept hearing the statement that they had felt like they had journeyed together with the heroes of the story, and now that the adventure had ended, they felt empty.
A lot of them looked so lost that Anton admitted that there were three prequel films called The Hobbit. The first film was An Unexpected Journey, the second was The Desolation of Smaug, and the third one was The Battle of the Five Armies.
Everyone gasped when they heard about the prequel films. Anton had to tell them that the three prequel films were a little less than the original films to set everyone’s expectations. He also told them that he planned to stop showing films for three days to explore the surrounding area.
Thankfully, no one insisted that Anton show them the prequel films immediately. He did admit to Leldorin that he was not planning to show the prequel films to them. It was just that everyone looked lost after seeing the last film of the trilogy, but when they heard about the films, everyone looked revived.
When Leldorin asked why he did not want to show the prequel films, Anton told the older elf merchant that some people said that the quality of the prequel films did not reach the epitome that the original films had reached and because of that, many people were let down and he did not want the forest elves to feel that way to any of the Lord of the Rings films, even the prequel films. Anton admitted that because of his love of the original films, he was a little biased when it came to anything connected to the franchise.
“I understand your love of the films. I’ve never cried so hard,” Leldorin said.
Soon, an impromptu party had started to celebrate the end of the trilogy. The food arrived, and Anton was surprised, since he did not expect the forest elves to prepare anything. Anton was amused when he overheard some of the younger elves talking about recreating some of the costumes that the characters had worn. They were a little forlorn about the winter season simply because they could not show off anything they would create since it would be under thick cloaks.
Suddenly, the queen went to the front and announced that a masque ball would be held in celebration of the Avatar films and the Lord of the Rings films, but it would be held after they had seen the prequel films. Anton just sighed and knew the masque ball was just a form of Cosplay and Cosplay was inevitable.
