Chapter 47: 047 Games in the Hot Spring Pool
Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
In a luxurious suite, there was only one milky white lamp turned on.
Luo Xiyun sat by the window, holding a book, completely absorbed.
The window was slightly ajar, allowing the night breeze to blow in with a faint rustling sound and occasionally lifting the curtains, bringing a chill to the room.
She seemed oblivious, occasionally pausing in deep thought before continuing to read.
Ring…
...
The alarm on the phone placed on the coffee table suddenly rang. Her gaze shifted from the book to the phone’s time display, and a flicker of unease crossed her face.
“Yu Meng was right, this matter needs to be resolved.”
After a while, she muttered to herself, turning off the alarm. She closed the book and placed it at the bedside.
The book’s title was “The Psychology of Dreams.”
She pushed the door open and walked toward the elevator, stopping abruptly when she heard a familiar voice: her secretary’s.
Suddenly, she heard a name, causing her to pause.
“…I just went to find Chen Xu; guess who I saw in his room?” The voice was her secretary’s.
“Who?” another person asked curiously, and Luo Xiyun recognized this voice as belonging to someone from the finance department.
“Dai Zixin.”
“What? Really?”
“Why would I lie to you? I saw her coming out of Chen Xu’s room with my own eyes.”
“So they’re really involved.”
“Why say it so harshly? They’re both single; having a proper relationship is nothing to hide.”

“Speaking of which, Dai Zixin is quite beautiful. I’ve heard she has many admirers in the company. Why did she choose Chen Xu?”
“Who knows…”
Ding, the elevator arrived, and their conversation ended.
At this moment, Luo Xiyun proceeded to walk out.
“Mr. Luo.”
Just as the elevator doors were about to close, Secretary Guo, with sharp eyes, noticed Luo Xiyun approaching and quickly opened the door.
“Mr. Luo,” the other person also addressed her.
Luo Xiyun nodded slightly and walked into the elevator. The two people behind her retreated awkwardly.
Secretary Guo did not dare to breathe audibly. After following Luo Xiyun for nearly six months, she knew her temperament well.
In work, she was extremely strict; even the smallest mistake was unacceptable. When reprimanding, she never held back. If you caught her in a bad mood, the consequences would be even worse.
Because of this, Secretary Guo had honed her ability to perceive emotions, using subtle expressions to gauge Luo Xiyun’s mood.
Earlier, she had sensed that Luo Xiyun was in a very bad mood, and she mentally sighed, wondering who had provoked this lady.
Fortunately, Luo Xiyun was not one to vent her anger indiscriminately; as long as no work errors occurred, everything would be fine.
Thus, at such times, one had to be extremely cautious. Making no mistakes was crucial.
The person beside her, also observant, noticed the oppressive atmosphere in the air, becoming tense as well.
Ding, the elevator reached the first floor, and when the doors opened, the two women both let out a sigh of relief.
The other colleagues had already arrived; they were the last ones.
Once everyone was gathered, they followed the hotel’s staff to the hot springs at the back of the hotel.
The hotel, built halfway up a hill, specialized in hot springs, with an outdoor bath area behind it.
It was Chen Xu’s first time at a hot spring. After changing into swimming trunks in the changing room, he draped a white robe over himself and stepped outside, shivering as the cold wind hit him.
Perhaps because it was located on a mountain, the outdoor temperature was relatively low, below ten degrees.
The entire bath area was bathed in a layer of orange-yellow light, surrounded by walls isolating it from the external environment.
In the center was the hot spring pool, shaped like a figure eight, with one side larger than the other, not divided in the middle, allowing the water to circulate freely.
Chen Xu, not bothering to observe, followed his colleagues, removing his robe, and stepped into the hot spring.
Upon entering the water, he found it slightly hot, but after soaking for a while, his skin gradually adapted to the temperature, and he felt particularly comfortable.
Over a dozen young men, bare-chested, gathered around the pool’s edge, chatting together.
Almost ten minutes later, seven women finally arrived, and unlike the men, they kept their robes on when entering the water, showing some restraint.
The women went to another smaller pool, with the men and women tacitly occupying separate pools.
Chen Xu lazily reclined against the pool’s edge, tilting his head back, and gazed at the pitch-black sky through the dense white steam.
Tonight’s temperature was particularly cold, and in this environment, he couldn’t help but recall the last month in his dream, spending those cold, frozen days with Luo Xiyun.
Her body was especially warm, under two layers of down blankets, creating that cozy feeling.
If the dream world could continue, she probably would have lived well on her own, right?
She was so strong-willed that anything she promised she would achieve. She would strive to live on.
Once the snow melted, she could drive around, traveling everywhere…
He imagined Luo Xiyun driving a big truck in the bright sunshine, a slight pang of bitterness welling up in his heart.
At this moment, the real Luo Xiyun was nearby, just a glance away.
But he didn’t look in that direction, because he knew that the Luo Xiyun in the hot spring wasn’t the one from his dream.
……
Luo Xiyun soaked in the hot spring, and the hot water inexplicably made her feel a bit annoyed. Seeing everyone engaged in their own conversations, which completely went against her purpose for organizing this event, she glanced at the secretary beside her.
Secretary Guo inwardly groaned; since entering the hot spring, she had wanted to make eye contact with Chen Xu, but he just floated there, not looking in their direction. She wondered if he was pretending not to see.
She mentally noted this issue and braced herself to speak up, “Just soaking in the hot spring is really boring; why don’t we all play a game?”
“What game?” someone nearby asked, playing along.
Secretary Guo said, “Truth or dare.”
“Sure,” everyone agreed.
Secretary Guo, being Luo Xiyun’s personal secretary, conveyed many work tasks on her behalf, had a high status in the department, and no one would decline her suggestion.
Secretary Guo got out of the water and, after a while, returned with a bag containing a spin-the-bottle device with everyone’s names written on it.
She explained, “Whoever the arrow points to must answer a question, and they must answer honestly. The next person chosen will then be asked by the previous one.”
“Okay,” everyone, seeing her thorough preparation, had no objections.
The women moved to the larger pool, forming a circle of nearly twenty people.
Chen Xu finally remembered the task Secretary Guo had entrusted to him, which he had just forgotten about. He didn’t think much of it either. Looking at the spin-the-bottle, he noticed Luo Xiyun’s name wasn’t on it, which didn’t surprise him.
“Let’s begin.”
Secretary Guo spun the arrow in the center of the device, and after several turns, it finally stopped, pointing at Chen Xu’s name.
Chen Xu silently cursed his luck but had to brace himself and asked, “Who’s going to ask?”
Secretary Guo said, “Mr. Luo, would you like to ask a question?”
