My Ex-husband Asked Me to Remarry Him Every Day-Chapter 592 - 584 I Don’t Want to Move
Xie Baola shook her head, "I don’t know, I didn’t pay much attention."
Chen Jiayan: "..."
"Go sit down," Chen Jiayan patted her hand and said irritably, "What are you standing here for?"
"Of course to hug you."
Xie Baola said as if it were a matter of course.
She found that she seemed to be a bit dependent on him.
Just wanted to keep holding him and never let go.
Chen Jiayan was really very nice.
She really liked Chen Jiayan.
Chen Jiayan had somewhat of a loss for words.
"Still so restless even when you’re sick."
He pulled her hands away, turned around, directly picked up Xie Baola horizontally, walked to the living room, and put her down on the sofa.
Xie Baola looked up at him, "What do you mean?"
"I’m going to check on the noodles."
Chen Jiayan walked toward the kitchen.
Once the noodles were cooked, Chen Jiayan brought the pot to the dining table along with two sets of bowls and chopsticks.
Xie Baola, smelling the aroma, automatically walked toward the dining table, and she lowered her head and took a deep breath, "It smells so good."
Chen Jiayan served the noodles into a bowl for her.
Xie Baola poked around in the bowl with her chopsticks and didn’t see any trace of eggs.
What’s going on, where’s the egg?
Xie Baola raised her eyes, looking woefully aggrieved, "Chen Jiayan, didn’t you fry an egg for me today?"
Chen Jiayan replied unhurriedly, "You just took medicine, you can’t eat eggs."
"Is that so?" Xie Baola didn’t quite understand.
Chen Jiayan: "..."
How had she managed to live by herself abroad?
Xie Baola didn’t have much of an appetite, and after eating a bowl of noodles, put down her chopsticks and stopped eating.
Chen Jiayan frowned, "Why did you eat so little?"
"I’m full, I can’t eat anymore."
Xie Baola leaned lazily against the chair back.
Chen Jiayan finished the remaining noodles.
He left the dishes and chopsticks for the moment and said to Xie Baola, "Go back to your room and rest."
"I’ve just eaten."
Chen Jiayan reached out to check her forehead.
It was still just as hot.
He said seriously, "Go lie down."
"Then will you lie down with me?"
Xie Baola issued the invitation.
Chen Jiayan nodded, "Mm."
Xie Baola’s lips curved slightly, saying with restraint, "But don’t you have things to handle at your company?"
Chen Jiayan said indifferently, "Work is not as important as you."
"Chen Jiayan, you are a bit love-struck, aren’t you?"
Xie Baola couldn’t help but laugh.
Chen Jiayan looked on blankly, "What is love-struck?"
Xie Baola no longer held back, tilted her head, her words light and teasing, "It means that you like me very much."
Liked her enough to even put aside work.
She had heard he used to be a workaholic.
Chen Jiayan: "..."
What nonsense was she sprouting? He didn’t understand.
Was she confused because of the fever?
Xie Baola stretched out a pair of jade arms to him: "Carry me back to the room, I don’t want to move, my head is spinning."
"Lazy."
Chen Jiayan’s matter-of-fact voice carried a hint of indulgence.
He had just said so, and then he went over to Xie Baola and picked her up.
He talked the talk, but his actions were more honest than anyone else’s.
Xie Baola leaned in his arms, her expression between a smile and nonchalance: "So I’m lazy, what about it?"
She was quite righteous and stern in her defense.
Chen Jiayan looked down at her with drooping eyes, "Nothing."
No matter how lazy you are, I’ll still indulge you.
Chen Jiayan placed her on the bed.
Xie Baola lay down, and Chen Jiayan reached for the blanket to cover her.
Xie Baola’s hand reached out from under the blanket to grab Chen Jiayan’s hand, looking intently, "Hurry up and get in."
She licked her somewhat dry lips.
Chen Jiayan stared at her pink lips, paused for a few seconds, then lifted a corner of the blanket and climbed onto the bed.
Xie Baola turned over, "Don’t worry, I’m sick right now, I won’t do anything to you."
Chen Jiayan: "..."
Thanks a lot.
Chen Jiayan really didn’t appreciate it: "What else are you thinking of doing to me? Sick in the head and still not clean."
Xie Baola nestled completely into Chen Jiayan’s arms, with an arm draped over his lean waist, her face resting on his neck.
"There are many things I want to do to you, but alas, I’m not strong enough right now, you’ll have to wait until I’m better to discuss it."
Her muffled voice came through.
Chen Jiayan: "...Shut up!"
"Oh."
Her forehead was hot.
When it pressed against him, Chen Jiayan could feel the heat.
The air conditioner’s temperature couldn’t bring down her body temperature.
Chen Jiayan turned to his side, holding her in an embrace, his voice clear and handsome, "Sleep, once you wake up from a sleep, you will feel better."
Xie Baola nudged her head, "Don’t sneak away."
Chen Jiayan: "...I won’t."
Xie Baola soon fell asleep.
Chen Jiayan’s sleep the previous night had not been good, so he too fell asleep.
When he woke up, Xie Baola was still sleeping soundly.
Their position hadn’t changed; they were entwined like conjoined twins.
Chen Jiayan gently loosened his grip, and seeing no sign of her waking, quietly lifted the blanket and got out of bed.
He left the room.
First, he tidied up the dining table.
Then he picked up the keys and left the house.
Without anyone holding onto him, it wasn’t long after Chen Jiayan left that Xie Baola also woke up.
Seeing the empty space beside the bed, Xie Baola instantly got angry.
He said he wouldn’t sneak away, but when she woke up, he was gone.
Is this what he called not sneaking away?
Chen Jiayan was really something.
Xie Baola laughed in spitefulness.
Xie Baola grabbed her phone and immediately made a video call to Chen Jiayan to question him.
When the video connected, Xie Baola directly asked, "Where did you go?"
Chen Jiayan looked at her through the lens, "At the mall, did you wake up?"
"What did you go to the mall for?" Her voice was tense.
"Your fridge was empty, so I came out to buy some ingredients. I’ll make you preserved egg and pork congee tonight, how’s that?"
So he went to the mall for groceries.
Then, why didn’t he tell her?
Xie Baola softened her tone a bit, "Can I not eat congee? I want something stronger, my mouth is bitter."
Xie Baola haggled.
Chen Jiayan didn’t spoil her completely, "You can’t eat strong flavors for now; you’re still sick, and congee is best."
He added, "Measure your temperature now, see how many degrees it is, I’ll take a look when I get back."
Xie Baola looked around randomly, "Where’s the thermometer?"
"On the bedside table."
"Oh, I see it, hehe."
Xie Baola shook the thermometer, then placed it under her arm.
And said, "All set."
"Okay, I’ll go buy the stuff now."
Xie Baola put on a stern face, "Don’t hang up!"
Chen Jiayan: "..."
Chen Jiayan chuckled: "Why are you so clingy?"
With many people in the supermarket, Chen Jiayan’s softly magnetic laugh, along with his tall and straight figure and graceful and pleasant features, did not fail to attract the eyes of the opposite sex around him.
Xie Baola vowed, "I’m sick."
"Okay then."
Chen Jiayan didn’t hang up the video call.
After some time, when it was about right, he asked Xie Baola to take out the thermometer to check: it was still at 38 degrees, she was still feverish.
Chen Jiayan urged her, "Don’t just lie in bed, get up and have a glass of warm water."
Xie Baola leaned against the bedhead, feeling sluggish all over, "I don’t want to move. Let’s talk when you’re back."
Chen Jiayan could only speed up his shopping. When it was time to pay, he ended the video call.
