My Ex-husband Asked Me to Remarry Him Every Day-Chapter 561 - 553: Good Husband at Home
His gaze was deep, and it was unclear what he was thinking.
She called him once, but he did not hear.
Xi Bao raised her hand and waved it in front of him.
Only then did Jiayan come back to his senses.
His gaze substantively fell on Xi Bao’s face.
Xi Bao’s eyebrows and eyes showed confusion, "What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing."
Jiayan lowered his head and continued to eat.
But Xi Bao was very sharp.
Especially when it came to matters concerning Jiayan.
"You were clearly thinking something; you kept looking at me just now, did you think I didn’t notice?"
Jiayan: "..."
Xi Bao suddenly laughed, "What? By looking at me like that, did you discover you’ve fallen for me?"
"You’re thinking too much."
Xi Bao huffed lightly, "Don’t deny it."
Jiayan furrowed his brow, "Just eat your food."
It was still snowing outside.
Xi Bao was in no hurry to leave.
They chatted while eating.
The meal took them two hours.
The dishes on the table were almost finished.
Xi Bao lowered her head to look at her stomach.
She was stuffed.
She raised her eyes to look at Jiayan.
Her expression was somewhat plaintive.
Jiayan noticed her gaze, "What’s wrong?"
"I ate too much."
Xi Bao said, "It’s all your fault."
Jiayan: "?"
Blaming him?
He cooked for her and he’s still to blame?
"Blame you for making the dishes too delicious; I ended up eating two bowls of rice. If I get fat, it’s your fault."
Xi Bao spoke righteously.
Jiayan was speechless.
He got up to clean the dining table.
Seeing this, Xi Bao quickly snatched the dishes from his hands.
Jiayan’s eyes slightly puzzled.
"I’ll do it; you go sit and rest."
"No need."
Jiayan didn’t think she could do it.
"Why not?"
Xi Bao asserted forcefully, "Don’t think I can’t."
"I really think you can’t."
Xi Bao glared, "Don’t underestimate me, okay? I can still wash dishes and clean plates."
Jiayan was half dubious.
Xi Bao: "You cooked, I’ll clean; it’s only fair. Don’t fight with me over it, go sit down."
"Okay..."
Jiayan washed his hands and returned to the living room to sit.
Xi Bao finished washing the dishes, and just as she was about to put a plate back in the cupboard, it slipped from her hands and crashed to the floor.
A loud "bang."
The shards cut a streak of blood on her ankle.
"Hiss..." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Xi Bao bent down to look, seeing a thin bead of blood emerging from her skin.
Damn.
That could be serious!
Hearing footsteps, Xi Bao lifted her eyelids to see that Jiayan had already come into the kitchen.
Seeing the mess on the floor, Jiayan’s eyes expressed a kind of helplessness.
Xi Bao felt somewhat embarrassed, "I slipped, I really didn’t mean to get out of cleaning."
Jiayan pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Come out."
"I’ll clean this up first. Where’s the broom?"
"I’ll handle it, you come out."
To prevent her from stepping on any shards.
"I..."
Jiayan simply picked Xi Bao up.
Xi Bao was startled for a moment.
Jiayan had already put her down on the ground.
Xi Bao looked blankly towards Jiayan’s retreating back.
Jiayan did not turn around but simply said, "Go sit down, don’t come here."
His voice seemed to have become a bit stern.
Xi Bao: "..."
"Alright then."
Xi Bao walked a few steps, then turned back to Jiayan, "Jiayan, you really are such a good househusband."
Jiayan: "..."
Jiayan was almost amused by her.
Xi Bao returned to the sofa and sat down, her gaze still not leaving Jiayan.
She watched Jiayan clean up the broken pieces, then methodically start washing the dishes and plates.
Then he put all the utensils back into the cupboard.
Watching Jiayan wipe his hands and turn around, Xi Bao quickly turned her head and focused on the television.
"Got any good movie recommendations?"
Xi Bao flipped through channels as she asked.
Jiayan answered, "No."
He noticed the injury on her foot.
"What happened to your foot?"
Xi Bao looked down, "Oh, that... just got scratched by accident."
Her tone was quite nonchalant.
The weather was cold.
The wound wasn’t big, but it was indeed quite painful.
Xi Bao could be quite delicate sometimes.
She looked at Jiayan, suddenly saying with a pout, "It hurts a bit."
"Who asked you to show off."
"I wasn’t showing off; I wanted to help you with the household chores."
"If you couldn’t finish the task, that’s showing off."
Xi Bao was speechless.
Seeing the blood stain on her foot, Jiayan found it a bit glaring.
He took out a first aid kit from the bottom of the TV cabinet.
"Stretch out your leg."
Xi Bao obediently complied.
She stretched out her long leg.
Wearing a short skirt, it was awkward for Jiayan to bend down, so he sat on the couch and placed her leg on his.
He bent down and carefully treated the wound on her foot.
After finishing, Jinyan took Xi Bao’s leg off his lap.
Put away the first aid kit.
Placed it back properly.
"When are you going back? I’ll take you?"
Xi Bao glanced at the time, her expression quite dissatisfied, "What time is it now, and you already want me to go back?"
"It’s still early; we’ll talk about it later."
Xi Bao stubbornly stayed put, then asked again, "Don’t you have any good movie recommendations?"
"No."
"Then I’ll just find a random movie to watch."
Jiayan resignedly said, "Whatever."
Xi Bao could tell from his tone the helplessness and indulgence he had for her.
But what could she say, she really enjoyed this feeling.
Xi Bao suggested, "How about we watch Xi Bao’s movie?"
Xi Bao searched for the movie title.
The few movies Qiao Xi had shot previously were still viewable on TV.
Xi Bao found a comfortable position to sit.
Though wearing a skirt, she crossed her legs.
Jiayan glanced at her unintentionally, went to the room, and came out with a blanket for her.
Xi Bao looked up at him, took the blanket, and covered her legs with it.
How could he be so attentive?
Xi Bao was genuinely touched in her heart.
Such a man, not being hers, would truly be a loss!
Xi Bao then pulled the blanket over Jiayan.
Jiayan glanced at her, "I don’t need it."
He pulled the blanket back, placing it all on Xi Bao.
Sharing a blanket was a bit too intimate for two people.
Xi Bao didn’t insist.
Under the coffee table, there were plenty of snacks stuffed.
Xi Bao took out a pack of chips and opened it.
These were cucumber-flavored chips, Xi Bao’s favorite.
Xi Bao offered the chips to Jiayan, "Do you want some?"
Jiayan looked at her, puzzled, "Didn’t you just say you were stuffed?"
"Being full from a meal doesn’t mean I can’t eat snacks," Xi Bao asserted.
"Chips are high in calories; if you get fat, don’t blame me."
"Can you not say such depressing things during the New Year?"
Jiayan went with the flow, "Sorry."
Xi Bao haughtily huffed, "But I’m not afraid of getting fat; I’m the type who can’t easily gain weight."
"That’s good then."
Xi Bao huffed again, "So, do you want some?"
