My Ex-Husband Always Knew That I Had Cheated on Him-Chapter 355 - 353: It’s Actually Him!
Just as Lucas Hughes was feeling smug, he heard a thud as the door of the private room was kicked open, and he looked up toward the doorway.
He was extremely nervous, fearing that the person who came was Alexander Johnson.
But then he thought about how Chloe Simpson and Alexander Johnson had completely fallen out, and he breathed a sigh of relief.
However, upon seeing the person who came in, he was dumbfounded.
It took him a long time to speak: "Ha... Harry!"
"Lucas, will you give me some face? I’ve come to take Chloe away." Harry King said directly.
"What if I don’t let you?" Lucas Hughes frowned.
He really didn’t expect that the person would turn out to be Harry King.
He and Harry King, along with Harry Mason and Noah Woods, were all college roommates.
Among them, Harry King was the wealthiest, and Lucas Hughes knew all too well about the King Family background.
"Then don’t blame me." Harry King’s face was serious.
After he finished speaking, he snapped his fingers, and one or two dozen people instantly rushed in, filling the entire room.
"Fine, you’re good! Harry King, from today on, we can’t be brothers anymore!"
Lucas Hughes was, of course, helpless and could only clap his hands and speak harsh words.
In the end, he could only watch as Harry King took Chloe Simpson away.
As soon as Harry King got Chloe Simpson out of the hotel, he started to inspect her.
"Are you hurt anywhere?"
He had seen blood on the floor of the room and was worried Chloe was injured.
"It’s nothing, Harry. You don’t have to worry, none of it is mine, it’s theirs. Thank you for coming to rescue me tonight. By the way, how did you know I was in that room? And how did you appear so timely?"
Chloe rubbed the blood on her hand and showed it to Harry, then asked nonchalantly.
"Nothing much, I was just hanging out around here and saw you earlier." Harry’s eyes dodged as he spoke, getting into the car.
"Oh." Chloe didn’t suspect anything and got into the car with Harry.
"Chloe, actually, I’ve known everything for a long time. Before you got married, I already knew everything Lucas did to you."
"I just thought at the time that he loved you very very much, which was why he did those extreme things. I thought it would all be fine once you got married."
"But I didn’t expect him to do such a thing on your wedding day. I should have seen it coming; he couldn’t live a normal life, so how could you two possibly be happy together?"
"Chloe, I’m sorry, if I had come forward at the beginning and told you everything, maybe things wouldn’t have ended up like this."
In the car, Harry spoke continuously about many things.
As he spoke, his eyes turned red.
"Everything is in the past now, and tonight you saved me, so let’s just leave it at that."
Chloe forced a bitter smile. At this point, what else could she say?
Should she scold Harry or slap him a few times?
None of it would change anything.
Not to mention, Harry saved her tonight.
"Chloe, consider it a debt I owe you. If you ever need anything, just give me a call. As long as I can do it, I’ll make sure it happens."
Harry looked at Chloe, speaking with determination.
"...Thank you."
Chloe met Harry’s gaze and was momentarily stunned, finally only managing to say thank you.
On the way home, Chloe didn’t say another word nor think about how timely Harry had appeared that night.
Her mind was full of Harry’s pained look.
That look, like that of a lover who had secretly adored her for years.
She thought, she must have been mistaken.
The King Family was so powerful and influential, and he already had a fiancée, how could he possibly like her?
All the way back, Harry didn’t say another word until he dropped Chloe off at her apartment complex, the car stopping beneath her building.
He finally spoke again: "We’re here."
"Okay, thank you." Chloe only then snapped out of it, nodded, and thanked him before getting out of the car.
She didn’t even question how Harry seemed to know her place so well, driving directly to her building.
And Harry, watching Chloe walk into the building, habitually looked up toward her apartment window.
He watched as her lights came on, and only then did he truly relax.
Many times before, he had driven here just to watch as Chloe’s apartment lights turned on, then off.
In fact, Harry had liked Chloe since college.
Even earlier than Lucas Hughes.
However, as the sole heir of the King Family, he always knew what kind of woman he needed to marry in the future.
He knew what he should and shouldn’t do, so his affection remained unacted upon.
But now, he deeply regretted it.
No, since that incident on Lucas and Chloe’s wedding night, he had regretfully realized it fully.
If he had acted before Lucas, Chloe would never have been so hurt.
But now, he’s engaged, and can only protect her quietly in the shadows.
Suddenly, he felt like he was always a step behind, and once he fell behind, he could never catch up.
Thinking back on everything from tonight, he clenched his fists tightly.
Now, with that person around, even in protection, he couldn’t be open about it.
While Harry was lost in thought, his phone buzzed with a message.
[Did you get the person out safely?]
