My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 95: School Dilemma Part 2
Caden laughed at Benjamin’s reaction. The old man was trying to offend him by using his mother, but Caden answered him with an insult.
"Are you hurt by just those words, grandfather? You’re getting emotional when the Trekker Clan is being insulted. But you don’t care if you offend my mother. That just shows how much grudge you have against us. And you don’t have to introduce yourself to my fiance and my friends. As you said, you’re infamous." Caden continued.
One of the men from Benjamin’s side cleared his throat.
"Let’s not forget about the issue here. We’re talking about Gregory Allen. There is a witness that your men took him and forced him to get into a black van. Can you explain that to us?" The man said.
Caden chuckled again. Alira couldn’t understand how he manage to keep laughing even though the guy they were looking for was indeed taken by the Forelli Clan and worst killed by him.
"I have nothing to explain. But since you wasted your time coming over to see me, Grandfather. I will answer your question. First, I do not own a black van. Second, I do not know the guy. What made you so sure that we’re keeping your kid?" He smirked.
"No one said you owned the van. But the men who dragged him were the royal guards of Flousia. I know every one of them so do not lie to me, my grandson."
They were calling each other grandfather and grandson, but it was more like sarcasm and an insult rather than an endearment.
"Oh, I know you know all of them. You know everything about me so why do you have to come here and ask about that guy if you already know I killed the guy? Ah! Because you have an agenda. You want to expose me, right? Go ahead. Tell the media I killed Gregory Allen." Caden said with a wide grin on his face.
Benjamin didn’t answer but there was a huge smile on his face. Then the man beside him who Alira believed was Michael Cerro took the tv remote and pressed the power button.
"Tell the media I killed Gregory Allen."
Alira’s eyes bawled. Her body trembled. She looked at Benjamin and the other two men. There was a hidden camera with them and their conversation was being broadcast.
"I don’t care about my name. It has been ruined a long time ago. Everyone knows I am the bad guy. But what about you? The Crown Prince who killed an innocent young man. What a title!" Benjamin laughed.
Caden didn’t say a word but she felt his grip on her hand. His nails almost pierced her skin. It was painful, but she had to endure it. She had to be strong for Caden and for herself.
Benjamin stood up and walked toward the door. Before he stepped out of the principal’s office, he looked back at Caden with a warning glare.
"This is just the beginning. I’ll make sure to destroy the Hulls and the Forelli Clan."
As they continued to watch the television where Benjamin was being interviewed by the media, Caden was still quiet. His grip loosened so she was able to snatch her wrist.
Caden quickly grabbed her hand to see the mark he had left.
"I’m sorry." He whispered.
With just two words, her heart melted and her anxiousness vanished.
"I’m fine. But why do you have to provoke him? And I can’t believe he could just walk outside without fear. What about the police?" She asked.
"The law can be manipulated and the government can be bribed." Caden commented.
"But he’s a murderer! He killed your grandmother! He killed Mireya! He’s the mastermind in the attack on the palace!" She exclaimed.
"He never admitted any of it. The only crime he admitted was stealing the real Benjamin Miller’s identity. He’s a convicted felon, yes. But two days ago, he was allowed to pay for four million dollar bail." Brie informed them.
Caden frowned and Alira’s rage grew.
"What? They accepted money from that bastard! He has no right to walk outside. He’s a threat to everyone. He was convicted because of murder, rape, identity theft and a lot more. How can they just accept bail? He was supposed to be moved to Germany, but escaped. That’s also a crime!" She ranted.
She couldn’t believe that they were losing against Jonathan Trekker. She couldn’t control her emotions as she watched him calmly and proudly gave a statement to the media.
To everyone’s surprise, she stood up, took the ashtray from the center table, and threw it on the television. The screen cracked and small shattered pieces of it and the ashtray scattered on the floor.
"I can’t accept this!" She shouted.
Caden pulled her into an embrace, brushing his palm at her back.
"Calm down. This is what he wants. For us to get mad and worried." He said.
Lucas yanked his back on the chair and crossed his arms. "His using the media to get sympathy from the people."
"But his credibility would not be proven, right? Who would trust the words of a murderer?" Brie asked.
Lucas shook his head. "He has a lot of people backing him up." Then he glanced at Caden. "You know, right? He’s your grandfather. I know you have analyzed his move and how he thinks."
"He will use the sponsored students of the Bronze Class. Most of them are being supported by him like Gregory Allen. He will use that guy first to get sympathy and turn the people against me." Caden answered.
"No. The people won’t buy it. He’s a liar! Why would they believe him instead of Caden?" She insisted.
"Alira, that’s how society works. They will believe him because of what he did for the children and remember the orphanage, he will definitely expose it in public. He will take this opportunity to make sure that I am the villain. And legitimate or not, in the eyes of everyone, I’m still his grandson and I’m the one who inherited Miller Group. What do you think people would say about me?" Caden chuckled. "I am the ungrateful fake grandson of a convicted man."
Alira wanted to scream. She was in a rage, but nothing would help Caden if she would throw a tantrum.
"So what’s your plan? With the way you act so calmly, I know you have a plan." Lucas grinned.
Alira felt relieved when she saw Lucas’ reaction. She was unsure of Caden’s plan but whatever it was, she would support him.
Caden laughed. "He started it. He wants me to get humiliated in front of everyone. Then let’s give him what he wants. He wanted to expose that I killed Gregory Allen, then so be it."
"But Caden, it would ruin your reputation. And everyone would talk about you. They will hate you." She said.
Caden stared into her eyes. And as she stared back at him, she saw determination in his eyes.
"Do you hate me?" He asked.
Although he was surprised by his question, she shook her head to answer him.
"Why would I hate you? I would never and you know that." She said.
Caden smiled at her and kissed her on the forehead.
"Then that’s enough for me. I don’t care what people say or think about me, as long as you don’t hate me." He said.
She nodded. "Then I will trust you. No. I have faith in you, my love."
Caden didn’t tell them his plan. Maybe Lucas knew, but she didn’t insist on knowing what it was. If Caden said he would handle it, then she would stay by his side even if the world turned its back on him.
He took his phone and called the commander of the royal guards. "Ed, protect me and everyone at all costs. Do you understand?"
Right after he ended the call, Ed and the rest of the royal guards barged inside the principal’s office. Then Caden called again.
"Euro, do your job and get your ass up here!" He ordered.
Euro was the head of A.E Security team. He only gave orders to his subordinates and would rarely get into action. Calling him meant only one thing—that everything could get out of control.
He arrived along with his men who were all previously worked as special forces. They were sick of being unfairly used by the government and was offered by Luke Wilson to work under Wilson Group.
"Is it necessary to call him?" Lucas asked.
Caden chuckled. "No. But I need him to protect Alira. We’ll be fighting face-to-face with my grandfather. He’s betting everything and so as we. Then let’s see who will win this game of his."
"You’re confident. And what would you do about Gregory Allen? You said you killed him. How would you explain that to everyone?" Lucas asked.
Caden didn’t answer, but his eyes became cold and the silver sparked in them vanished. All Alira could see was the notorious Boss of the Forelli Clan.
