Chapter 80: Still Together

They decided to come to school separately until the announcement. They didn’t tell anyone, even Lucas and Brie.

"Alira, your prince is back." Samantha mumbled while side glancing at Caden.

She nodded and didn’t say a word. Her seat was just in front of him and she couldn’t understand why she was nervous, although they were together an hour ago.

Their classmates were stealing glances at them when she sat on her seat. Caden was talking to one of the boys and pretended not to see her.

She took her books and decided to review for their first subject. She needed a distraction so she wouldn’t be conscious of Caden.

"Are you okay?" Samantha asked her.

She nodded. "Of course! I’m fine."

Samantha frowned and stared into her eyes to see if she’s telling the truth. She smiled and held her friend’s hand.

"Hey, I’m fine. Everything is okay." She said.

Samantha saw a different glow from Alira, and although she was curious, she didn’t ask her. She was happy if Alira had already moved on. But her face crumpled when she saw a group of girls entering their classroom.

"The bitches came!" Lea mumbled.

Alira frowned and turned to the entrance door. The girls were from class three. And in front of them was Penelope. She stared at her, deep wrinkles formed on her brow. She didn’t want to cause trouble, so she planned on ignoring just ignoring them.

"Hello, my prince. Would you like to join me for lunch later?" Penelope asked.

The girl’s face was really cute, but she had too much makeup, making her look like a thirty-year-old woman. Caden had no interest in women like her. Well, he wasn’t really interested in any woman except Alira.

"Sorry, I have plans." Caden smiled politely.

Penelope pouted and started flirting with him. Alira didn’t look because she knew it would make her mad, but she could see her friend’s faces while looking at Penelope.

"Bitch!" Cassy whispered.

Penelope and her friends heard it. One of them walked toward Cassy to confront her.

"What did you say?"

Cassy shrugged her shoulders. "Did I say anything? Oh yeah, bitch!"

The girl laughed. "Ah! You’re a friend of the prince’s ex! That’s the reason you look so bitter! Well, say anything you want. I’ll let you off this time because your friend just got dumped and I pity her."

It was obvious that the girl’s words were meant for her. She tried her best to keep calm. She wouldn’t want to step down to their level, so she took a deep breath and controlled her temper.

But her friends would never let anyone insult her.

"Who gave you the right to insult Alira? She wasn’t dumped! She was the one who broke up with him." Lea exclaimed.

Penelope and her friends laughed.

"And who told you that? Her? Come on! Everyone knows she was dumped. She has been boasting about her fiance since seventh grade and finally met him, but got dumped. I wonder if she just begged the prince to pretend as his fiance." Penelope commented.

Samantha stood up and was about to answer, but she pulled her hand and shook her head.

"Enough. You don’t have to fight for me." She said.

Then she stood up and turned to the girls of class three.. She was mad, but everyone watched her as she gracefully confronted Penelope.

"I understand you like my fiance very much. But you don’t need to come to our classroom and pick a fight with my friends. I apologize for their behavior since I admit they started it. However, I don’t think you need to insult me because you don’t know anything."

Penelope grinned. "Your fiance? You’re still calling him your fiance?"

She smiled and turned her heavy gaze to Penelope, surprising everyone. It was the first time they saw her eyes turned cold as steel.

"I’m still his fiance. And nobody can’t take that away from me. Caden!" She called.

Caden had a huge smile on his face. A victory smile.

"Yes?" He asked.

"Come here!" She ordered.

Caden nodded and quickly walked toward her.

"Don’t give me that face. I’m pissed." She said.

He chuckled. "What? I didn’t do anything. I rejected her. You heard it."

She gave him a warning glare and swept her eyes over the classroom.

"Everyone. We planned on having an exclusive interview with the media club, but I’m too annoyed with the girls clinging around my man. So go ahead, and take out your phone, you can record what we have to say."

The students took their phone and started recording. Most of them called out the other students and gathered in front of their classroom.

"We apologize for making a fuss these past few days. But I want everyone to know that we’re okay. We’re still together. I’m still his girlfriend and future wife." She then turned to Penelope.

"It doesn’t matter who suggested the break up. Whether it was me or him, it wouldn’t change the fact that we love each other. We had a fight and because we’re still young, we thought the only solution was to separate." She continued.

Caden wrapped her arm around her waist, pulling her closer.

"It was because of my pride that we had an argument. And I hate myself for hurting her. I apologize for announcing the breakup in public. And because of it, we have to tell everyone that we’re okay to stop the rumor about us. And if you want proof that we’re not pretending, I guess this would be enough."

She wasn’t expecting Caden’s next move. He pulled her again, and without a word, invaded her lips. A moment of pure crushing happiness filled her heart, so she was unable to protest. She grabbed the back of his head, pulling her face closer to deepen the kiss.

They stopped when they heard cheers from the students. She was blushing after their public, passionate kiss was recorded by the students. But it was their purpose, after all. They knew it would be posted on the internet and would be shared by everyone. Benjamin would definitely see it.
