My Evil Crown Prince-Chapter 60: The Twin’s Argument
She left Caden sleeping on the bed. They came to Willow Green to learn self-defense, but everything ended up in a tension between Lucas and Caden.
She had to talk to Lucas about the headquarters and his relationship with Caden. She didn’t want the two to have a misunderstanding, so she decided to explain Caden’s side to her brother.
"Is he okay?" She asked.
Brie was outside of the infirmary and was patiently waiting for Lucas.
"Physically, yes. But his ego was crashed, so I left him for a while so he could at least have some time to think about everything."
She nodded. Lucas was the heir to Wilson Group, the wealthiest clan in the country. She understood his feeling of being defeated and the guilt of falling into Caden’s bait. And now he lost A.E Headquarters.
She took a deep breath and stepped inside the infirmary. She knew Lucas felt her presence, but didn’t look at her. He was on the bed and was just staring at the ceiling. She sat on the chair beside him.
"Lucas, can we talk?" She asked in a gentle voice.
He didn’t answer.
She sighed. "Lucas, please. It pains me to see you like that."
She heard him chuckle and when he finally looked at her, disgust was written all over his face.
"It pains you? Alira? You know the headquarters means a lot to me. Dad entrusted it to me. How could Caden take it from me?" Lucas said in disappointment.
She shook her head. "You misunderstood him, Lucas. He did it for you."
Lucas laughed in disbelief. "He did it for me? Did he tell you that? And you believed him? You are blinded by your feelings for him, Alira. He’s not the Caden we knew when we were kids. He hated the mafia back then, but look at him now, he is the mafia."
"No, I’m not blinded by emotions, Lucas. You are!" She exclaimed.
Lucas frowned. "What? Me?"
"Yes!"
Lucas glared at her. "Is that what you learned from being that guy’s fiance? Since when did you learn how to reason with me? I’m older than you!"
She stood up, her hands on her waist.
"So what? That doesn’t mean you are always right. And don’t blame Caden for this. He had no idea I came here to talk to you. You lost the headquarters because of your pride. It’s your fault, not mine, not Caden’s."
Lucas hissed. "If you will be like this, I’ll tell Dad to cancel your engagement! I will tell them Caden’s secret."
She couldn’t believe her brother’s sentiments. He wanted to talk to him calmly, but it seemed she was just wasting her time.
Before she could answer, Brie walked inside.
"Don’t be such a child, Lucas. Alira just wanted to talk to you."
"Oh, shut up, Brie! Don’t meddle with our personal matters. I am talking to my sister, my twin, and my family. You? You are nothing to me."
Her eyes widened. "Lucas!"
But it was too late. Brie smiled at Lucas. A painful smile. Then she quietly stepped out of the infirmary.
"How dare you break her heart again? Are you really going to continue being a child? Brie cares for you. I care for you, and Caden cares for you." She sighed.
"Caden told me you are trying your best to finish Dad’s project on your own. He said you wanted to be like Dad, but he’s worried that it’s already weakening you. You have the whole Wilson Group, Lucas. The headquarter was just a small part of what you have. Don’t focus on it. Caden wanted to help you, Lucas. And about Caden being the Boss of the Forelli Clan, he already told you, he knew he had to pay for his sins in the future, but still, he’s expecting you to be the first person to understand him. We both know how he suffered because of Benjamin. Mom also suffered because of them. You should at least consider that."
Lucas let out a heavy breath. "I was beginning to feel exasperated. For months, I’ve been trying my hardest to finish Dad’s project, but nothing. I’m not like him, not even close."
She sat on the bed and slightly smiled at her brother. "Of course, you’re not like him. You and Dad are totally different person. But he trust you. Mom and I trust you. You’re the heir to Wilson Group because Dad knew how capable you are. But don’t forget to always keep your feet on the ground. What happened today was a result of your pride. Scold me all you want, but that was the truth."
Lucas nodded. "I know. The truth is, I was jealous of him. He could easily say everything he wanted to say and convey his feelings to you. And now, he’s both the Crown Prince and the Mafia Boss. He achieved so much. But look at me, I couldn’t even finish what Dad left behind."
"Don’t underestimate yourself. Wilson Group would not be as successful as it is now, if not because of you. Caden is right, don’t focus on the headquarters alone." She said.
Lucas nodded. Seeing him fall like a child pains her. He was a minute older than her and before they met Caden, they did everything together.
It all changed when Caden stepped into their lives. When the two were together, she felt like an outcast. She wanted both of their attention and maybe, it was the same for Lucas. Caden wasn’t just a friend. He wasn’t just her fiance. He was someone who had a deep connection to her and Lucas.
The three of them was destined to meet. It just happened that she became Caden’s fiance and it somehow formed a complicated relationship between them.
"Do you sometimes feel jealous when I’m with Caden? I mean, before we met him, it was just you and me. We were fine and I felt like I don’t need anyone as long as I’m with you. How about you?" She asked curiosity piqued.
