My Dreams Connect to Ancient Times-Chapter 81 - 78: If One Is at Fault, One Must Be Punished (Part 2)
Chen Tu retreated three steps. A chill ran down Du Xueling’s spine. ’This old man... was once an Earth Immortal???’
What was an Earth Immortal?
An Earth Immortal was a being above a Celestial Human—a Land Immortal!
A figure of this caliber, if they didn’t restrain the scope of their power, could shake an entire continental plate with a single, full-force strike!
But just as quickly, the two regained their composure. According to Hou Qingshan, this old man was completely crippled. His Dao Foundation was shattered, and all the Acupoints in his body had collapsed. Now... he was just a Grandmaster.
At this moment, the auras of Lu Xiuyuan and Hou Qingshan clashed, stirring up a violent gale. Even the super-alloy pavement of the city center began to crack!
"Xiaoxuan, Jiang Xue, get out of here, quickly!" the old man shouted, raising the Broken Blade in his hand. "Don’t let me get you involved! Go!"
"Leave?" Hou Qingshan grinned. "Chen Tu, Du Xueling, hold those two little ones. After I finish off this old bastard, we’ll use them as blood food!"
He paused, then goaded Lu Xiuyuan.
"Old bastard, what was it all for? You guarded the Great Wall for decades, watched your comrades die one by one, bled for it... and for what? Your higher-ups sued us for peace!"
Hou Qingshan continued, laughing boisterously.
"Did you know? In the five days I’ve been in this city, I’ve already devoured forty-seven portions of blood food! And they were all offerings from your own Human Race!"
Lu Xiuyuan’s hand trembled. A murderous glint appeared in his eyes as he stared at Chen Tu and Du Xueling, his killing intent surging like a tidal wave.
Chills ran through Chen Tu and Du Xueling under his gaze, as if they were seeing a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, a landscape built from Demon bones. They retreated in unison, then rushed toward Lu Xuan and Yan Jiangxue. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Insolent!"
Lu Xiuyuan roared, about to intervene, but Hou Qingshan just laughed and lunged forward!
"Old bastard, know your place! Do you still think you’re the lord of an army? Still think you’re an Earth Immortal?!"
The old man was forced to meet the attack. The two figures clashed, sending shockwaves rolling out that snapped the green trees lining the road!
One, a pinnacle Grandmaster with all three hundred and sixty of his Acupoints opened; the other, a Five-organ Grandmaster who was once an Earth Immortal. The collision between them created a terrifying tidal wave of force. Along the street, many doors and windows were shut even tighter, but some of the younger generation of Celestial Humans walking through the city center were drawn by the commotion and began to gather.
Before long, twenty to thirty young men and women had appeared on the long street. To be personally escorted on a tour by their Celestial Human Level elders, they all had to be prodigies. Each one possessed an extraordinary aura as they quietly watched from the sidelines.
"Is that..." a young prodigy frowned. "Hou Qingshan? The Hou Qingshan who entered the pass with the Demon King?"
Another prodigy, a young woman in a green robe, nodded. "That’s him. He’s at the pinnacle of the Jade Tower realm. They say he’s already got half a foot into the Celestial Human Level, but he’s been holding off on breaking through because he wants to explore the Extreme Realm of this stage..."
As she spoke, she glanced to the side, asking in confusion, "Du Xueling of the Du Family and Chen Tu of the Fist Sect? What are they doing here too?"
"You didn’t know? Those two have been sucking up to Hou Qingshan..." another person said with a hint of jealousy.
While these prodigies were talking, Chen Tu and Du Xueling came to a stop in front of Lu Xuan and Yan Jiangxue.
Du Xueling’s expression returned to its usual cold indifference as she spoke faintly, "You two, grovel on the ground. It’ll save you some pain."
Lu Xuan didn’t respond at first, simply staring blankly as Hou Qingshan’s words echoed in his mind.
’Five days, forty-seven portions of blood food.’
Although he didn’t know exactly what "blood food" was... Lu Xuan could guess.
He turned his head, his gaze icy, and stared at Du Xueling. "Why are you helping an Alien Race harm your own people?"
Chen Tu chuckled as if he’d heard a joke. "Our own people? Are you saying creatures like that are our own people?"
He pointed at the little old man’s corpse and added flatly, "They’re just ants. Why shouldn’t they be killed?"
"So in your eyes..." Lu Xuan lowered his gaze. "The strong can do whatever they want?"
"Isn’t that how it is?" It was Du Xueling who spoke. Despite her beautiful face, her words were chillingly callous. "My father is a Celestial Human. I am the legitimate daughter of a Celestial Human. I was born to be above others... Forget it. You wouldn’t understand even if I explained."
She seemed to be losing her patience. "Since you refuse to grovel, then you can just watch how that man is cut down."
As she spoke, Du Xueling pointed to the center of the field, at the old man locked in combat with Hou Qingshan.
But Lu Xuan only sighed. "Above others? You mean being high and mighty in front of commoners, but then bowing and scraping before those more powerful than you? In that case, I’m stronger than you. So... why don’t you two kneel?"
Some of the prodigies watching from a distance couldn’t help but laugh. They looked over with great interest, and one of them shook his head. "A local kid? Tsk, tsk, what terrible luck, picking a fight with someone he shouldn’t have..."
Chen Tu was also slightly stunned, but Du Xueling was laughing.
"This kid must have suffered a Cultivation deviation and lost his mind. Forget it..."
Before she could finish, she saw the young man—whose aura had been fluctuating, at times strong and at times weak—lift his head.
And then.
The young man raised his hand. There was no surge of qi and blood, no ripple of Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi—he simply brought his palm down lightly.
Chen Tu’s expression darkened. Just as he was about to shout a reprimand, Lu Xuan’s jade-like palm began to emit a soft, precious glow—the kind of glow that comes only from a physical body tempered to its absolute limit!
As the palm descended, Chen Tu and Du Xueling felt as if the sky itself was collapsing!!
Their faces changed as they resisted with all their might, channeling their vast reserves of qi and blood, but it was like an ant trying to shake a tree, a mantis trying to stop a chariot!
CRACK!
Their knee bones shattered, their spines snapped, and the two of them fell face-first toward the little old man’s corpse, forced to grovel on the ground.
Lu Xiuyuan and Hou Qingshan, who had been locked in battle, both stopped and stared over in astonishment. The prodigies, who had been watching with detached amusement, were also stunned, unable to believe their eyes.
