My Dreams Connect to Ancient Times-Chapter 53 - 52: Arriving in Grandeur, Fleeing in Panic
A surge of vital energy tore through the room, shattering the wooden floorboards and making every table and chair tremble.
A look of despair flashed in the young man’s eyes. ’He never imagined these guys would actually be so bold as to openly attack an Inspector!’
’And I didn’t even report this visit. My family has no idea I’m here... My chances of survival are slim!’
He struggled to his feet, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.
"I’ll go with you, but don’t make things difficult for the others!"
As he spoke, the young man pointed to the few people behind him.
"Brother!"
"Wang Cheng’an!"
The young boy and the gentle-looking woman were frantic, while the other man was scared stiff, curled up and trembling in his seat.
"I already told you," the Grandmaster at Perfection, whose face was obscured, said flatly. "All four of you are coming with me. As for how you’ll be dealt with, that’s not my concern."
As he spoke, he reached for Wang Cheng’an. The latter tried to resist, but his injuries were too severe. The moment he gathered his vital energy, it dissipated.
Wang Cheng’an gave a bitter smile. He wasn’t afraid of death; he had accepted the risks when he took this position. His only regret was being arrogant enough to bring his lover and younger brother along on an inspection...
He sighed and gave up his resistance.
Suddenly, a clear voice rang out.
"Excuse me."
The leading Grandmaster at Perfection frowned and glanced to the side. It was the clean-cut young man, who was slowly getting to his feet. An exceptionally beautiful young woman rose with him.
"Don’t stick your nose where it doesn’t belong," the hooded man warned. "This has nothing to do with you. Don’t bring disaster upon yourselves!"
He was still a bit wary, feeling that the middle-aged man had a unique and extraordinary aura.
At that moment, Lu Xuan walked straight forward and slowly came to a stop.
"Young man, this has nothing to do with you! Leave!" Wang Cheng’an managed to say, pushing through his pain.
But Lu Xuan simply asked in a low voice:
"They’re trying to capture you because you’re an Inspector, right?"
The boy who had been jeering earlier was now a crying mess. As if grasping at a lifeline, he sobbed:
"That’s the only reason! Someone in East Sea City is afraid my brother will uncover something that will lead to them being held accountable by the Federation, or even losing their positions and their lives!"
"I see."
Lu Xuan nodded. He calmly faced the five Grandmasters at Perfection, cupped his hands, and said:
"In that case, I must ask the five of you to leave. I don’t always know my own strength, and it would be a shame if lives were lost."
"Arrogant!"
"Such nerve!"
Several of the hooded Grandmasters narrowed their eyes, their anger rising. They were still wary of the middle-aged man behind him, but this sixteen or seventeen-year-old kid before them?
’But for him to step forward, he must have some backing... It has to be that middle-aged man, right?’
One Grandmaster at Perfection, looking thoughtful, discreetly sent a message on his phone. Then he stepped forward, his materialized vital energy surging so violently it kicked up a gust of wind!
Wang Cheng’an’s expression changed. He wanted to say something, but fresh blood just spilled from his mouth.
The crying boy behind them also came to his senses, and the despair in his heart deepened. ’How could I have pinned my hopes on someone my own age?’
He wasn’t a fool; he knew that if they were captured, they most likely wouldn’t make it out alive!
At that moment, the Grandmaster at Perfection attacked without holding back. His heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys resonated in unison, unleashing an immense power!
Yan Huang frowned and sighed to himself. ’This Lu the Kid is still a bit unreliable.’ He immediately prepared to intervene.
Yan Jiangxue, however, took a step forward to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Lu Xuan, fearless and unyielding. A roar of organs echoed from within her body, revealing that she, too, was a Grandmaster, though it was unclear how many of her viscera she had opened.
Wang Cheng’an closed his eyes in anguish, his heart heavy with self-blame and guilt for implicating innocent people. He couldn’t bear to watch the gruesome sight of the clean-cut young man being smashed to pieces.
Just as the fist was about to land, Lu Xuan inhaled. His heart throbbed powerfully, his liver radiated a precious light, and his spleen continuously supplied brilliant, new blood.
The Tiger and Leopard Thunder Sound rumbled as the glow from three of his viscera shone through his skin.
"Huh?" Yan Huang was taken aback. ’Xiaolu is a Three-organ Grandmaster?’
’Didn’t his file say he was only at the Marrow Cultivation stage?’
’Still... while that’s impressive, his opponent is a Grandmaster at Perfection who has opened all five organs...’
He frowned and shook his head, slightly raising his palm.
"A Three-organ Grandmaster at such a young age?" The attacking hooded man was astonished, but he quickly dismissed it. "You’re still biting off more than you can chew!"
As he spoke, the fist arrived!
Lu Xuan’s expression sharpened. A dim, shadowy aura suddenly enveloped him as he raised his hands above his head, as if holding a seal, and struck!
Yan Huang’s half-raised palm froze. He stared at the dim, shadowy aura around the young man, his expression a mixture of shock and uncertainty.
The next second,
BOOM!!
Lu Xuan collided with the Grandmaster at Perfection. A shockwave erupted, so powerful that the gentle woman and the other two couldn’t open their eyes. The wooden tables and chairs shattered into splinters!
The scene everyone had imagined—Lu Xuan being blown to bits—did not happen. He only retreated three steps, each one landing with a thunderous RUMBLE!
As the dust settled, everyone stared in stunned silence.
"He... he... he..."
Wang Cheng’an’s younger brother, Wang Honghua, had forgotten to cry. He stared blankly at the scene, an overwhelming sense of disbelief washing over him.
The gentle woman and the man cowering in his chair were also dumbfounded. A boy who looked to be sixteen or seventeen revealing the cultivation of a Three-organ Grandmaster was already shocking enough,
but what was even more absurd was that he, a Three-organ Grandmaster, had just gone head-to-head with a Grandmaster at Perfection who had opened all five organs!
’A monster?’
’A prodigy?’
"Something’s wrong with this kid! Attack together! Make it quick, and be careful of that middle-aged man!"
The five Grandmasters at Perfection joined forces again, their vital energies intertwining to form a combined attack!
Lu Xuan’s expression was grim. He channeled his Primordial Body with all his might, the shadowy aura around him intensifying as his momentum built.
"Xiaolu, Xiaolu, watch me!"
The young woman’s ethereal voice rang out as Yan Jiangxue shot forward. A soul-stirring, jade-white brilliance glowed from her palm as she met the strike of a Grandmaster at Perfection. The terrifying aftershock rocked the entire Dragon and Phoenix Tower, yet the two of them were evenly matched!
Lu Xuan was stunned. He had only just realized that Xiaoyan’s Cultivation was actually higher than his own—she was a Grandmaster who had opened four major viscera!
’But a moment’s thought was all it took for him to understand. Uncle Yan is a True Immortal, which makes Xiaoyan a True Immortal Daughter. Her bloodline must be incredibly powerful, and she’s probably been tempering her body with secret elixirs and divine materials since she was a child. Her Cultivation level isn’t surprising at all.’
’Add to that the slaughter techniques passed down from a True Immortal’s direct lineage, and it was perfectly normal for her to be on par with an ordinary Five-organ Grandmaster.’ 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
But Lu Xuan knew Uncle Yan’s background and could connect the dots. The others, however, had no idea!
At this moment, watching this brilliant pair of youths—each with Cultivation far beyond their peers, capable of fighting opponents in higher minor realms—the others were completely dumbfounded.
’Where did these Immortals come from?’
’Isn’t East Sea City supposed to be a third-tier city? Are the prodigies from third-tier cities all this ridiculous?’
"Something’s not right! Let’s go!" one of the Grandmasters at Perfection roared. "These two freakish kids are one thing, but there’s still that middle-aged man sitting in the back. Who knows what level he’s at?!"
The other four also realized this and retreated explosively.
Lu Xuan wanted to give chase but quickly abandoned the idea. ’If I really wanted to annihilate all five of them, I’d have to use the Three-Five Evil-Slaying Sword. I can explain away the Primordial Body, but if the Three-Five Evil-Slaying Sword makes an appearance...’
However,
"Alright, kiddos. Xiaolu," Yan Huang said. "Perfect timing. Today, I’ll teach you both a lesson: either you don’t meddle in other people’s business, or if you do, you finish the job completely."
As he spoke, he gently pointed a finger.
A Primordial Qi Finger materialized and pressed down. The five Grandmasters at Perfection were instantly crushed to the ground, blood pouring from all seven orifices as everything from their bones to their internal organs was shattered!
"A... A Celestial Human?" Wang Cheng’an sucked in a cold breath, his taut nerves suddenly going slack.
’A Grandmaster can only crudely mobilize the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi. Only a Celestial Human at the level of Climbing the Divine Ladder could do something like this!’
Nearby, Wang Honghua’s legs gave out, and he collapsed to the floor, only a single thought running through his mind.
’I just berated a magnificent Celestial Human!’
After a long, dead silence, Wang Cheng’an struggled to get up, and the gentle woman at his side hurried to support him.
"Wang Cheng’an, a disciple of the Langya Wang Family, thanks the three of you for saving my life!"
Supported by the woman, Wang Cheng’an managed a difficult bow.
"The Langya Wang Family?" Yan Huang’s expression shifted slightly, and he smiled faintly. "Hmm, the Langya Wang Family of the Five Greats and Seven Surnames..."
"Just a branch family," Wang Cheng’an said respectfully, catching his breath and speaking with difficulty.
’A Celestial Human would be a pillar even in the main family line, and the terrifying talent of those two youths far surpasses that of the main family’s prodigies!’
"I... I’m sorry!" Wang Honghua stammered, tear tracks still wet on his face as he apologized for his earlier behavior.
Lu Xuan waved his hand.
"It’s fine. It wasn’t a big deal, not even really a conflict..."
Before he could finish, his brow furrowed again.
Outside on the long street, sirens blared. Through the window, he could see a stream of Inspectorate hovercars descending, with Inspectors pouring out of them.
Far off in the sky, another figure was riding the wind toward them, a Wakizashi in hand!
’Only a Grandmaster could ride the wind and walk on air.’
The newcomer began to shout while still a great distance away:
"Sakata Kuma, here by invitation to suppress an Evil Cult..."
Halfway through his sentence, the head of Sakata Heavy Industries in East Sea City shot forward. His blade energy tore through the wall as he burst into the room.
He held his blade in one hand, the other clasped behind his back, his gaze sweeping across the room, awe-inspiring.
The next second,
"Yan... Yan..." Sakata Kuma saw Yan Huang’s faint, unreadable smile. His hand trembled, his blade clattered to the floor, and he turned and ran for his life.
’Others might not recognize him, but as the head of Sakata Heavy Industries in East Sea City, how could I not?!’
’I’ve seen a ghost!’
’I’ve been totally set up!’
Down on the street, the Inspectors who had just exited their hovercars stared up blankly, watching the Grandmaster who had made such a majestic entrance now flee in utter panic. They were all lost in thought.
"Fall back! Return to the Inspectorate!" Ji Bochang roared.
