My Dreams Connect to Ancient Times-Chapter 131 - 4: Come 1, Kill 1
The might of a Celestial Human was gloriously immense.
With his Spiritual Will made manifest, the Celestial Human in the sky resembled a Great Sun looming over Gouxian Town. His gaze bore down, and an immense power descended, plunging the small town into a deathly silence. Many of the residents fell to their knees, trembling, and cried out "Immortal."
Some, however, did not kneel. These were the few residents watching the breakfast stall from afar. The fat old man wore a strange expression. Yang Erlang didn’t even glance at the Celestial Human; his brows were furrowed as he stared at the youth in the stall. The Old Black Dog and the Big Black Bull exchanged a look, both flinching; the former was terrified, while the latter was delighted. Li Changgeng’s long beard fluttered, his face filled with confusion. As for the child, he tilted his head, bit his lip, and also stared intently at Lu Xuan in the distance.
"The Celestial Human is here! What do we do? Someone, say something!"
The fat old man grumbled,
"I can’t beat him as I am now, anyway. Yang Erlang, how much of your strength do you have left?"
Yang Erlang glanced at him and said coolly,
"I survived the great calamity and endured the Dharma-Ending Age. I have no strength left. I’ll have to wait for the world to recover further... As for what to do, isn’t there still someone buried in the graveyard? If that little fellow up there really acts up, that person will deal with him."
After a pause, he added,
"We should be talking about what’s going on with that youth. His name is Lu Xuan, and his face... it’s a ninety percent match."
The men, the dog, and the bull exchanged blank stares. No one said a word. None of them could understand it; none of them could figure it out.
Meanwhile, the Great Sun in the sky gradually descended. Its immense might intensified, causing the kneeling residents to tremble violently.
At the breakfast stall, Zhong Muhua’s face was pale. She said grimly,
"Why would a Celestial Human suddenly appear here? No, wait... it seems he’s looking right at us!"
As she spoke, she hugged Xiaoyu tighter. Beside her, Zhong Dacheng and Zhong Muxuan were also trembling. This was a Celestial Human, after all!
Even though their grandfather was also a mighty Celestial Human, he wasn’t here right now...
The atmosphere instantly froze. Despair flashed across Xu Lindao’s and Xu Qingqiu’s faces. They ducked their heads for dear life, like a pair of quails.
In her terror, Xu Qingqiu caught a glimpse of the young man and woman beside them out of the corner of her eye. ’They seem... very calm?’
’Aren’t they afraid?’
’I suppose that makes sense. He’s not here for them, after all.’
Xu Qingqiu’s body went limp as a chill washed over her, and she sighed softly.
Beside them, Lu Xuan and Xiaoyan exchanged a glance. Confusion flickered in her eyes as she leaned her head forward and asked,
"He looks like one of the bad guys from Sakata Heavy Industries."
Lu Xuan nodded calmly and whispered back,
"Just as I suspected... Let’s not be hasty. We’ll see how this plays out first."
"Okay."
Xiaoyan nodded, cupping her chin in her hand. She seemed lost in thought, with not a trace of worry on her face.
’Uncle Ao didn’t come on this trip, but Dad is right here on the Ancestor Star. If anything really happened, he could be here in a single step.’
’Besides, it’s just one Celestial Human.’
Just then, the blazing sun descended upon the street. The Celestial Human appeared, hands clasped behind his back, and began walking slowly down the bluestone road. Each footstep boomed like muffled thunder. His aura surged, his presence glorious and overwhelming!
Xu Lindao and Xu Qingqiu huddled together, practically shrinking into a ball. Zhong Muhua, holding her daughter, didn’t dare to breathe, her expression becoming one of cautious respect.
A moment later, the booming steps drew near, and the Celestial Human arrived.
"So, you really were hiding here," he said casually, but his voice boomed like a massive bell, deafening all who heard it.
As the terrifying aura raged, no one dared to speak. Utterly hopeless, Xu Qingqiu raised her head, as if she had given up completely.
"Where is the item?"
The Celestial Human did not attack directly. Instead, with an air of complete superiority, he asked indifferently,
Xu Lindao gritted his teeth.
"Let us go. If you let us leave, I’ll give you the item..."
Everyone now understood that the Celestial Human was after the young couple, and they all breathed a small sigh of relief. The middle-aged guide, however, was internally cursing Xu Lindao and Xu Qingqiu to high heaven. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
But they couldn’t relax completely. This was a Celestial Human, after all. Beings of his stature were notoriously capricious; no one knew what he might do next.
Lu Xuan, however, watched this unfold with great interest, thinking to himself, ’Did Sakata Heavy Industries lose something?’
’To dispatch several Celestial Humans one after another, and even track them all the way here...’
’What could it be?’
At the same time, the Celestial Human let out a cold laugh. He raised his eyelids slightly, and an almost tangible aura radiated outward. The gentle morning breeze froze in place, and thunder rumbled across the sky.
"Hand it over," he said indifferently. "It doesn’t seem to be on your person. Where did you put it?"
Enduring the immense pressure, Xu Qingqiu said with a deathly pale face,
"Please, I’m begging you, let us go... The item, it’s... it’s in the suitcase..."
she said, her voice breaking into a sob.
"If we go back, the higher-ups... they won’t spare us..."
"Where is the suitcase?" The Celestial Human did not respond to her plea, merely asking with cold indifference as his aura continued to surge, blanketing the entire town.
"In the hovercar!" Xu Lindao suddenly sighed. Knowing any struggle was futile, he spoke with resignation.
"The hovercar is parked just outside, and..."
A crazed look suddenly filled his eyes. He began to laugh, a shrill, sharp sound, and then enunciated each word with chilling clarity:
"...And the evidence of Sakata Heavy Industries colluding with an Evil Cult to attack East Sea City is right inside!"
Xu Lindao screamed at the top of his lungs, his voice so loud that everyone on the street could hear him.
Everyone froze for a moment. The town’s residents had little contact with the outside world, so they didn’t understand the implications of his words. They could only stare in confusion.
