My Dreams Connect to Ancient Times-Chapter 124 - 100: Finally a Celestial Human, Moon Like a Hook (End of Volume 1)
’Transcending the Years... What kind of concept is that?’
As a hundred thoughts spun through Lu Xuan’s mind, the old man gave a placid smile and asked:
"Judging by the changes in your Physique, you’ve been through a lot recently. Hmm... It’s close to a Dao Body. No, it’s already the true pinnacle of the Jade Tower stage, having walked the path of Jade Tower to its very end. It seems you’ve had quite a heavenly opportunity..."
Lu Xuan’s expression soured. He was just about to recount being pummeled by the Three Masters for over a month in the Origin. The memory of that feeling...
He suddenly recalled the Three Masters’ repeated warnings, and feeling a little guilty, he clamped his mouth shut.
The old man didn’t seem to notice the young man’s odd behavior and simply continued in his gentle tone:
"You have progressed much faster than I imagined. Normally, opening three hundred and sixty-five Acupoints is considered reaching the Extreme Realm of Jade Tower. But you have refined a three hundred and seventieth Acupoint, and even refined the five Divine Communication Acupoints that shouldn’t exist at this stage. And on top of that, you’ve gained such a Dao Body..."
After a moment of thought, he continued, "It is time to pass on the Supreme Celestial Human Chapter to you."
Lu Xuan’s eyes lit up. He had indeed gone as far as he could in the Jade Tower stage, having reached the absolute best and highest point. Now, all he lacked was the Cultivation Skill for the Climbing the Divine Ladder level to become a Celestial Human!
But at this moment, the Old Master narrowed his eyes dangerously and asked:
"Hmm, your Physique... it has strengthened far too quickly. Did you meet someone, or did something happen?"
Lu Xuan’s expression remained unchanged, but he felt his nerve falter. ’I promised the Three Masters I wouldn’t reveal what happened in the Origin...’
He gave a light cough. Without telling a lie, he simply skirted the issue:
"Teacher, I deduced one hundred and eighty-five Great Dao Texts for the Mediation of Creation..."
"COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH..." The old man seemed to choke on his tea. He waved his hand. "It’s nothing, continue."
Lu Xuan blinked, not thinking much of it, and honestly continued his explanation:
"Then, I learned from Senior Brother Zhang about a Divine Object called the Bodhi Fruit, which can nourish one’s spirit. So, I tried to use the Mediation of Creation to create this Divine Object directly in my stomach. Although I could only create a wisp of the fruit’s peel, it was still enough to offset the drain from using Mediation of Creation, and even provided some surplus."
He paused for a moment before continuing, "So I kept using the Mediation of Creation at every moment, constantly nourishing and strengthening myself with the peel of the Bodhi Fruit. Over time, my Physique reached its limit."
Supreme fell silent.
After a long moment, he replied, somewhat dazed, "That’s not bad, not bad at all..."
Lu Xuan chuckled.
"Looked at it this way, reaching the limit of the Jade Tower stage isn’t that hard, really."
"..."
The Old Master wanted to say something, but in the end, he said nothing at all.
’This stinky brat. Does he think just anyone can comprehend the Mediation of Creation at this level?’
’Even if they did comprehend it, from the Creation of Heaven and Earth to the present day, and even into the future, Lu Xuan is likely the very first person to have deduced one hundred and eighty-five Great Dao Texts at the Jade Tower level, pushing the Mediation of Creation to such a state.’
’He might also be the only one.’
’True, there are Innate beings born with complete mastery of this Great Divine Technique. But by the same token, Innate beings of that level are born as Immortals, Upper Celestial Venerables, or even directly inherit the mantle of a Dao Fruit. Why would they ever linger at the Jade Tower stage?’
After a long while, the Old Master said faintly:
"Not bad, not bad at all... Alright, listen closely."
Lu Xuan assumed a respectful listening posture.
The old man began to lecture on the Supreme Celestial Human Chapter. As he spoke of the Dharma, grand phenomena manifested in the empty room: scenes of the Birth and Death of heaven and earth, the rise and fall of civilizations, as well as images of all living beings praying and Immortals and Buddhas kneeling in worship.
A vast Dao Rhyme also emerged, surging throughout the entire Guardian Storage Room.
But this vision, far grander and more terrifying than the one that appeared when Lu Xuan explained the Dharma to Confucius, did not obscure the sky for three thousand li as it had that day. Instead, it was entirely contained within this Octagonal Four-Sided Tower.
Lu Xuan listened, utterly mesmerized, and his understanding of the Climbing the Divine Ladder stage gradually became clear.
The so-called Climbing the Divine Ladder was a process of using one’s physical body as the foundation and one’s spirit, Soul, and True Spirit as the destination, building multiple Divine Ladders to connect the two.
Once the Divine Ladder was constructed, the true Power of Heaven and Earth, Primordial Qi, Skills, and so on would be transmitted through the physical body to the Divine Soul.
There were nine levels in the Ninefold Divine Ladder. With each level climbed, the path from the physical body to the Divine Soul would widen, and the Power of Heaven and Earth flowing into it would grow more profound.
Similarly, once the Divine Soul was refined, it could in turn nourish the physical body via the Ninefold Divine Ladder. Moreover, one could use the Divine Ladder as a medium to manifest their Spiritual Will, projecting it outward to influence reality!
Once all nine levels of the Divine Ladder were climbed, one could attempt to ascend the Celestial Gate and become an Earth Immortal!
This was the path of Climbing the Divine Ladder, the way of the Celestial Human.
Lu Xuan achieved complete understanding but did not immediately attempt it. Instead, he immersed his entire mind in the Supreme Celestial Human Chapter.
This Magic Technique was profound beyond measure. Unlike ordinary methods for Climbing the Divine Ladder, the link this scripture constructed between the physical body and the spiritual True Spirit was not a Divine Ladder, but...
...the Supreme Jade Steps.
It also had nine levels of jade steps. Their destination included the spirit, will, Soul, and True Spirit, just like an ordinary Divine Ladder’s method, but it was not limited to this. It also pointed toward the resplendent Great Dao, allowing one to perceive the Truths and even use them prematurely while in the Celestial Human Realm.
This was the Supreme Celestial Human Chapter.
Lu Xuan finally understood completely. He slowly opened his eyes, and just as he was about to bow in gratitude, he found that his teacher was already gone.
He stood stunned for a moment, then silently rubbed his nose. He rose to his feet and bowed toward the empty space:
"Thank you, Teacher, for bestowing this Dharma and teaching the Dao."
From the void, a reply came. It was only two words.
"Very good."
........
After returning to Douluo Palace, Supreme tossed and turned. The more he thought about it, the more something felt wrong.
’There’s something wrong with Xiaoxuan’s Physique. I had intended to bestow it upon him myself, but he has already formed a Dao Body... No, that’s not right!’
The old man stroked his beard and mused:
’Someone must have helped him. Who was it? Primordial? Or Spirit Treasure? Those two rascals...’
He pondered for a long time. When it involved Daoists of the same level, it was impossible to divine the details or the origin of the matter. The more he thought, the angrier he became.
’This is my disciple! Mine!’
’In any case, it must have been one of those two... I’ll beat them both up first and ask questions later!’
........
「Late at night.」
Lu Xuan left East Sea City alone and walked to the distant outskirts.
Standing atop a giant mountain, he gazed out at his surroundings. To his right was East Sea City, which looked like nothing more than a tiny black dot in the far distance.
On the other side was the massive mountain chasm he had carved out before. A few Earth Immortal corpses and fragments of Ancient War Chariots lay there, the air thick and overflowing with the baleful aura of Immortal Blood.
Looking closely, one could even see some foreign Cultivators who had set up camp below, attempting to explore the region in groups. However, they were hindered by the baleful aura of the Immortal Blood, unable to advance a single step.
"Huuu..."
Gently exhaling a breath of turbid air, the young man stood on the mountaintop and looked up at the bright moon.
Moon Like a Hook.
"Tonight is the night."
He closed his eyes and began to operate the Supreme Celestial Human Chapter. A muffled sound, like Great Thunder or a war drum, emanated from within his body.
The sound grew louder and louder until, at its peak, it even caused the towering mountain to tremble slightly!
Down below in the several large camps, many Cultivators looked up in surprise, their gazes fixed on the distance.
When he had accumulated enough power, Lu Xuan spread his hands. His Physique emitted a brilliant, treasured light as it drew in the moonlight and the vast Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi!
Within a radius of one li, then ten, then a hundred.
The Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi surged over violently, forming a huge, illusory funnel in mid-air that pointed directly at Lu Xuan!
Even the moonlight from the heavens poured down in its entirety. A white mist, like gauze, descended with the concentrated moonlight, causing the moon to dim in all other parts of the region.
The sky grew deeper and darker as the Primordial Qi became more turbulent. The illusory funnel gradually expanded until it eventually concealed the entire mountain peak.
THUMP, THUMP, THUMP!
His heartbeat thundered as the blood qi throughout his body was fully mobilized. Various Skills manifested in Lu Xuan’s mind, finally converging into a sharp spear that pierced the barrier between his physical body, Divine Soul, and True Spirit!
In the sea of his mind, the three Bronze Fragments, the Three-Five Evil-Slaying Sword, the Master’s Token, the Supreme Daoist Robe and Hat, and the Heaven-Flipping Seal all trembled.
An unknown amount of time passed. In the gap between the young man’s physical body and his Divine Soul, a vast White Jade Stairway, formed from the condensed Truths of Heaven and Earth and the myriad Skills of all things, emerged.
This was the Supreme Jade Steps.
His Spiritual Will surged, then fed back into his physical body, and finally projected itself outward.
Under the astonished and trembling gazes of the countless Cultivators at the foot of the mountain, a ferocious Great Sun appeared at the summit, illuminating the area as if it were broad daylight!!
Climbing the Divine Ladder, the Celestial Human Realm... had been achieved.
The great wind on the shores of the East Sea did not cease. It swept past a mountain and an ocean, picking up a withered flower and carrying it toward the whole of Langya Province.
On the ground, the Great Sun blazed brilliantly; in the sky, the moon was like a curved hook.
