My Dreams Connect to Ancient Times-Chapter 113 - 95: Transforming into Grand Grade, Slaying a Demon Immortal with a Palm
A chill shot through the hearts of the three Earth Immortals.
"Is that..."
Lu Xuan looked up, a faint, unreadable smile on his face.
"Is that all?"
As he spoke, three thousand years of cultivation surged into him. For an ordinary person, such power would at most elevate them to the Earth Immortal Level, but it pushed Lu Xuan to an unbelievable height!
Although he couldn’t fully control this power...
a rampaging ocean could still easily swallow a lake.
His aura soared, and resplendent phenomena manifested around him. The boundless River of Time churned, wondrous Immortal Flowers bloomed one after another, and Golden Lotuses slowly unfurled!
A magnificent yet profound and shadowy vista appeared around his body. A single glance revealed layered cosmoses, realm after realm, heaven after heaven!
The old man looked up, Chaos Qi swirling in his eyes, accompanied by the Supreme’s Immortal Music, the Primordial’s celebratory smoke, and the Jade Universe’s Essence Qi!
"A True... a True Immortal?" the Earth Immortal from Sakata Heavy Industries stammered, bewildered. A frigid chill erupted from the base of his spine, surging through his entire body in an instant!
Kong Jisheng and Hou Wushu were also terrified. The two were more knowledgeable and could tell that the old man before them was no ordinary True Immortal. Although he hadn’t revealed his aura, these vast phenomena alone...
’A Grand Grade?’
’A Grand Grade!!’
The Earth Immortal from Sakata Heavy Industries spun around and fled without a moment’s hesitation, rushing toward the Heaven-Reaching Gate. The old man simply chuckled and said:
"Why must you flee?"
As he spoke, he calmly reached out. Having learned his lesson from last time, he didn’t dare mobilize any Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi. He only carefully separated a minuscule wisp of his vital energy and pressed it forward.
BOOM!!!
The burial chamber shook violently. If not for the protection and suppression of the Grand Array that had stood for eons, the entire tomb, the entire ruin, would have already crumbled to dust!
A gale howled. Kong Jisheng and Hou Wushu were blown away, slamming heavily against the walls. Their bodies fractured, trickling Immortal Blood.
As for the Earth Immortal from Sakata Heavy Industries...
he was nowhere to be seen.
From his physical body to his internal organs, flesh, and bones, everything had been utterly obliterated into fundamental particles, annihilated into the void.
The old man smiled faintly and turned his head to look at the two Earth Immortals embedded in the wall, continuously coughing up blood.
Just from his calm, direct gaze, with Chaos Qi swirling in his eyes, the two Earth Immortals felt as if their bodies were about to completely disintegrate. They couldn’t withstand the murderous gaze of a Grand Grade expert.
Although he didn’t know why ’Wu Xiaoxu’ had suddenly transformed into a contemporary Grand Grade, Kong Jisheng still struggled to roar:
"Senior, I have not offended you! I am of the Kong Family—the Kong of Confucius!" 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Hou Wushu was also utterly terrified, completely devoid of the imposing presence he had when looming over the Celestial Vault of East Sea City. He stammered,
"Senior! I didn’t attack you either! Though I am a Demon, I came for peace! To negotiate!"
The old man didn’t speak, merely watching them calmly for a long moment.
He smiled and said,
"I forgot to tell you. I am not Wu Xiaoxu."
The two Earth Immortals froze. Then, they watched as this terrifyingly powerful Grand Grade being spoke in a low, ghostly voice:
"My name... is Lu Xuan."
"The Lu Xuan of ’Fusheng Lu Xuan.’ And the Lu Xuan from East Sea City who cut down Hou Qingshan."
As his voice fell, the entire burial chamber fell deathly silent, with only the mysterious tremors continuing to reverberate.
’Lu... Lu Xuan?’
’Fusheng Lu Xuan... the Lu Xuan from East Sea City...’
In a daze, Kong Jisheng suddenly recalled the title of the tomb’s owner he had seen upon entering.
’Supreme Profound Clarity Daoist Monarch, Supreme Emperor Profound Yellow, Blessed Lu Xuan Heavenly Venerable...’
His spine trembled, his back went numb, and his hands and feet turned ice-cold.
"So that’s how it is," he mumbled blankly, letting out a bitter laugh. "So that’s how it is."
’So the young man who dared to swing his blade at the heavens... he’s... he’s the master of this tomb?’
’The reincarnation of a great Immortal God from Ancient Times?’
Beside him, Hou Wushu was utterly speechless and despondent. If it had been anyone else, any other living being, perhaps he could have negotiated, perhaps he could have begged for his life.
But if it was the young man from that day...
He closed his eyes and sighed softly, knowing with certainty that he would not survive this day. Not even a true Immortal could save him now!
Kong Jisheng wanted to make one last struggle. Tears and snot streamed down his face as he began to speak with a trembling voice:
"Sen... Senior, I had no intention of offending you before! I’m truly from the Kong Family, a direct descendant of Confucius! I, Su Qiu, only hope for peace. I only wish for the Human Race to shed less blood, that’s why, that’s why..."
Lu Xuan watched Kong Jisheng calmly and shook his head in disappointment.
"Kong Jisheng. ’To carry on the lost arts of past saints’... It’s a good name, but what a waste."
After a pause, he continued,
"Zhongni once sought my counsel. He asked, ’as life passes like a flowing river, why must it be so bitter?’ I told him that Shang Shan is like water, and life follows Nature. You seek peace, and that is fine. But to lead the great Human Race to beg for it on bended knee..."
Kong Jisheng’s mouth slowly, gradually fell open. He didn’t hear the rest of what Lu Xuan said, his mind frantically replaying the first half of the sentence.
’Master Kong once sought my counsel.’
Trembling, he suddenly remembered that day, when the person before him was still a young man. He recalled the words spoken with head held high, Broken Blade in hand, and an air of dauntless spirit.
’Confucianism will have a new rule: Any Demon that brings disaster, any member of the Human Race who defects to the Demons, shall be executed by all.’
’No wonder he said that.’
’Since Master Kong sought his counsel, he could be considered half a teacher. And as half a teacher to Confucius, he is a venerable figure to all of Confucianism.’
Kong Jisheng suddenly grew calm and gave a bitter laugh.
"So that’s how it is, so that’s how it is..."
As he spoke, he raised his hand, slammed it viciously against his own head, and uttered his final words:
"This unworthy descendant has brought shame upon his ancestors!"
His voice fell, and so did his palm. Kong Jisheng had actually taken his own life, even severing his own Three Souls and Seven Spirits.
Lu Xuan was slightly taken aback for a moment, then nodded gently.
"He had some backbone, at least."
As he spoke, his gaze shifted to the remaining one, Hou Wushu.
The latter was completely hopeless. The sheer despair had even stripped him of his fear. He stopped trembling and just laughed bitterly, his laughter growing louder and louder.
"So the Immortals and Buddhas have returned..." he roared with laughter. "Then the Demon Saints of my race will return as well! All of you in the Human Race will become our slaves, servants, and food! Just you wait, just you wait..."
His voice stopped abruptly.
Lu Xuan pointed a finger and reduced him to dust. He not only destroyed his body and soul but also completely obliterated even his True Spirit. This meant Hou Wushu had vanished from the world completely. Even if Reincarnation were to be restored, he would never have a next life.
The entire burial chamber fell into a deathly silence.
Lu Xuan stood in place, silent for a brief moment. Not wanting to waste the precious time granted by the Keeper of the Records, he scanned his surroundings, trying to perceive the area and find the source of the tremors.
He actually found it. Something was pulsing beneath the grand tomb, but it was sealed by countless Grand Arrays and Great Bans. Even with his current body, it would be difficult to break through the arrays and bans.
"Strange..."
Lu Xuan frowned and muttered. Just as he was about to investigate more closely, his heart suddenly trembled, and a chill ran down his spine.
"This is..." He paused, his expression changing slightly. "Is this a sudden premonition?"
It was said that when something related to a powerful cultivator was about to happen, they would have such a premonition. With three thousand years of cultivation now empowering him, this sudden feeling was definitely not without reason!
Lu Xuan’s expression grew solemn. He activated his Primordial Body, and fine strands of starlight flashed through his eyes. Each and every thread was a line of Cause and Effect.
Through his insight into Cause and Effect, he saw.
He saw East Sea City shrouded in a curtain of rain. He saw a pair of great eyes in the sky, as vast as the lofty Celestial Vault. He saw people dressed in black rampaging through the city, slaughtering wantonly, reaping lives without restraint.
A black-clad person beheaded a civilian who couldn’t escape in time, raised their arm, and roared:
"For my master!"
He also saw Teacher Lu clutching the Broken Blade, fighting desperately against their enemies. He saw Uncle Ao protecting Xiaoyan, taking down one black-clad Celestial Human after another with precise strikes. He saw that Ji Bochang’s left arm was gone, and he was fighting for his life!
Blood mixed with the rain, slowly, gradually covering the entire street. The cries of the wronged even drowned out the incessant downpour, echoing ceaselessly over East Sea City.
This scene was just like seven years ago. Just like Qianlong City, seven years ago.
Painful memories surged like a tide, sweeping over his entire being. His limbs grew as cold as frost, and his heart blazed with a furious fire.
Lu Xuan shot out, bursting through the Heaven-Reaching Gate. Before the bewildered eyes of Wang Zhiyao and the others, he took a single step, and a Golden Great Dao paved with the bloodlust of ten thousand miles appeared!
