Chapter 278: No More Time To Hesitate

Aiden descended the stairs into the main hall of Ravens Grave. The moment he entered, he saw that the room felt different.

The usual noise of conversation had reduced to whispers. Guild members clustered near the far walls, keeping distance from the center of the room.

At the heart of that empty space was Thera, and she towered over every person present. Even without her divine aura fully manifesting, something about her presence already told on who she was.

This was definitely no ordinary visitor.

Katherine who was part of those present and keeping a respectful distance, was tall woman, standing at five feet nine inches. Her frame was athletic and in her armor she looked just as perfect.

But this woman was like the better version of her.

Thera stood at least six feet four inches tall, perhaps more. Her black armor was sculpted to her frame and was both beautiful and attractive.

Aeris was not present. Had she been here, she would have recognized Thera for what she was immediately and dropped to her knees.

But the Amazon was out again today with Arianna, Laela, and Rin, continuing Rin’s training in the open fields.

The moment Aiden’s boot touched the bottom stair, Thera’s gaze moved toward him.

"I have come to find you, Vessel of the Black Dragon," she said.

Her voice was calm yet filled the hall without rising in volume.

Aiden stopped at the base of the stairs and asked. "What brings you here?"

Thera glanced around the room before returning to Aiden. "I would prefer to speak with you privately," she said.

Aiden turned and headed for the exit. As he passed her, he spoke without slowing down.

"When your kind comes here, it’s never for a good reason. So let’s get this over with, and you can be on your way."

Thera said nothing in response. She simply turned and followed him out the door.

The moment they stepped outside, Aiden lifted off the ground and flew upward into the sky.

Thera rose after him, and they flew until in they reached and descended onto a cliff close to the city.

In a way, this was Aiden’s attempt to get her out of the city.

"Alright," he said. "What is it?"

"I need your help finding the Dragon of Creation," Thera said. "Thyron. Gaia has tried to locate her but failed."

Aiden raised an eyebrow, then murmured. "Hm.. And why would you need her?"

"We need to wake Adam," she said. "Gaia believes Thyron’s power may be able to undo the Grail’s effect. If we can wake Father, we can reclaim Eden, then send Samael and his demons away."

She paused, letting her words settle.

"But we cannot do that without Thyron’s help. And we cannot find her without yours."

Aiden sharply said, "Hold on, Demons? And Samael is in Eden?"

The confusion on his face, quickly turned to shock as he searched Thera’s expression, hoping he had heard wrong.

Thera nodded. "Yes, Samael has been in Eden ever since he returned. He shares a bed with Lilith. And there are nine demons with him."

"But that should not be possible, I erased those creatures." Aiden shook his head in disbelief. If she was this specific about the number, then had to be Samael’s generals.

"Well, they didn’t stay dead." thera replied.

Aiden said nothing for a moment. Then he closed his eyes and reached inward, invoking his authority as The Axis.

The ability activated as he focused his thoughts on the demon lords, searching for their positions across the universe.

And there they were.

All nine of them. In different parts of the same space but they were alive.

His eyes opened up as his fists became clenched with fury surging through him.

"Come with me," he said, then stretched his hand forward. A blue portal opened up before them, and Aiden proceeded into it, with Thera following behind him.

——

They emerged into the Pocket Dimension and now they were before the dragons. Aiden gestured toward them, then looked at Thera.

"Explain it to them."

Thera nodded and began recounting everything. She spoke of Lilith’s return, Adam’s slumber, the Holy Grail, and the presence of Samael and the Demons in Eden..

The dragons listened in silence and when Thera was done, Aiden then added;

"It finally makes sense why Samael hasn’t bothered coming after us. What he truly wants is in the highest amounts and all gathered in one place."

Thera exhaled. "I knew it. Lilith will be the reason for the end of us. Sometimes it’s hard to believe how much that woman can be blinded by love."

Orlien’s expression shifted into one of deep concern. "What do we do now?" she asked.

Syqora looked like he was in thoughts and so did not offer any more words yet. Neither did Thyron.

Aiden then spoke again.

"We can’t sit here and keep waiting for Samael to act. Cronyssia explained to me that he intends to become the new Oldest One by gathering all those fragments. So I can assume that if he successfully acquires the transcendence fragments from the gods with the highest amounts, defeating him will become even more impossible than it already feels."

Syqora sighed then glanced at Thyron and Orlien, before finally speaking.

"He’s right."

"If Samael is left to acquire the fragments of transcendence from all those gods, there will be no hope of defeating him at all. We must prepare ourselves. We shall battle against Samael once more."

Thyron and Orlien both nodded. Then Syqora sai. "Excuse me."

Without waiting for a response, he levitated upward into the air, drifting away from the group until he reached a point far above the central platform.

There, he stopped. He crossed his legs beneath him and folded his hands in his lap, settling into a meditative position.

Aiden watching him ascend, asked "What is he doing?"

Thyron turned her gaze toward Syqora."Looking out for the best outcome to all of this once again," she said.

Thyron shifted her attention away from Syqora and turned toward Thera.

"For the nature of Adam’s situation," Thyron began, "the best person to fix that would be Orlien here."

She gestured toward the silver-haired dragon standing beside her.

Orlien stepped forward and asked, "Where is he?"

"He’s currently on the moon," the goddess replied. "With both my sisters."

Orlien nodded and said, "We’ll come with you."
