My Crush Also Has a Crush on Me!-Chapter 207: Jin Cangcang, Verdant and Lush (Extra 1)
The bar played soothing music, teeming with emotion, as if clinging to life by a thread without dying. Ying Haoyang glanced at the person on the couch and switched the music to the nightclub’s signature energetic beats.
Fu Yan slightly frowned, pinching the glass, lifting his head and pouring a gulp of alcohol into his stomach.
"I mean, we haven’t seen each other since college graduation, why are you in such a state as soon as we get in touch?"
"What, I can’t rock the brooding, handsome guy vibe?"
Ying Haoyang found it amusing: "This brooding vibe of yours, it’s a bit defeated. Tell me, did you get dumped again?"
Fu Yan frowned, displeased: "Can’t you speak properly? What do you mean ’dumped again’? What a joke, those female colleagues at the company adore me."
"Do you have anyone you fancy? You’re thirty as well; my daughter is already five. What about you?"
"..." Fu Yan licked his lips and laughed, "You don’t understand, I’d rather be alone than with the wrong person."
Ying Haoyang raised an eyebrow, somewhat getting the point: "Got your eye on some girl?"
"It’s not ’got my eye on’, it’s that I fancy her."
"Oh? Who do you fancy?"
"The niece of Uncle Wang, who lives next to my grandma’s."
"..." Ying Haoyang sorted out the relationship, "So, the kid from your grandma’s neighbor?"
Fu Yan weakly nodded, staring at his phone: "Yeah."
"Is she in Z city?"
Fu Yan: "Don’t know."
Ying Haoyang couldn’t help but mock: "Don’t tell me you don’t even have her contact number?"
"I had it before."
"And now?"
"Got blocked."
"Hahahaha..." Ying Haoyang laughed uncontrollably, "I’m telling you, you used to be so suave, why have you become like this now?"
"Don’t bring up the past; back then I was young and knew nothing. Thinking about it now, I was such a fucking moron!"
Thinking about what he had done back then, Fu Yan felt annoyed, lit a cigarette, and took a deep inhale.
Ying Haoyang got excited: "What happened? Tell me about the situation?"
"Do you remember in our sophomore year when a few of us went out to hangout?"
Ying Haoyang thought for a moment: "Didn’t we often hang out together?"
"There was one time when a high school friend of yours brought a girl."
"Which one?"
"Tsk." Fu Yan frowned, "That year in our sophomore year, you brought a few high school girls to sing with us, and after singing went out to drink, right? Afterward, didn’t those girls go home? Then another girl appeared, didn’t she?"
Ying Haoyang took a sip of his drink and thought, "Oh, the last to come was Xie Haoyan, and the girl he brought was his girlfriend."
"His, his girlfriend? What was her name?"
"Forget it; her last name seems to be Jin, appeared well-behaved, didn’t speak much that day, didn’t really notice what she looked like."
"How did I get back to the hotel that night?"
"That night we were so drunk, just found any hotel to stay in. I even jokingly said why didn’t Xie Haoyan stay in a room with his girlfriend, and that kid actually told me he was waiting for her consent."
Ying Haoyang: "There’s some gossip later, do you want to hear it?"
Fu Yan, confused after a sip of alcohol: "Tell me."
"A few days after that, Xie Haoyan broke up with his girlfriend, apparently her friend slept with another guy, but that Xie Haoyan really is an asshole. Even though it already happened, he should’ve just had a peaceful breakup instead of damaging the girl’s reputation at school, spreading rumors everywhere."
Fu Yan felt a heavy blow to his heart, all this chain of causality was caused by him.
Reputation is too important for a girl; in a place like school, any small incident immediately becomes widespread. He couldn’t believe how she managed to hold on until graduation.
After a long while, he hoarsely murmured, "What about after?" 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Ying Haoyang shook his head: "She’s not my ex-girlfriend, how would I know what happened afterward? I lost contact with that guy."
"Where is that Xie Haoyan you mentioned?"
Ying Haoyang: "Who knows? Haven’t been in touch since college graduation, so many years have passed, the person could be anywhere now."
Fu Yan felt really agitated, drank his last cup of liquor, rose to his feet, and headed out the door: "Looking for a place to stay."
Ying Haoyang followed, slinging an arm around Fu Yan’s shoulder: "Hey, are you really not going home for the New Year?"
"Not going back."
"So you’re spending New Year’s alone? Isn’t that a bit too pitiful?"
Fu Yan: "Aren’t we brothers? You’re not going to celebrate it with me?"
"Who’s going to keep you company when they have a wife?" Ying Haoyang glanced at the time, "It’s ten thirty, I need to get home, my daughter likes me to tell her stories at night."
Ying Haoyang hailed a taxi and left. Fu Yan heaved a deep sigh and got into a car.
It was quiet in the parking lot. Fu Yan reclined his seat and lit a cigarette, staring at the car’s ceiling.
He even understood why Jin Can would want to take revenge on him. In her heart, she must have hated him to the core, right?
Ruining her purity and causing her to break up with her boyfriend, if she didn’t have a strong mind, how could she bear the school’s gossip.
Fu Yan took a harsh drag of his cigarette, pulled out his phone, and found that number he had hidden for years, yet he dared not call it.
He had tried calling her back when she was still in Jiazhou City, and got blacklisted even with a new number.
He stared at the number, his brain heated up, and he dialed again using a new number.
After ringing for a while with no answer, Fu Yan was about to hang up when suddenly the call was picked up.
"Hello? Who is this?"
There was a man’s voice on the line, Fu Yan frowned: "I’m looking for Jin Can."
"You’re looking for my cousin huh? She’s not home, try calling back later."
"Hold on." Fu Yan took a drag on his cigarette and asked, "Are you Wang Xinyu?"
"Do you know me? Who are you?"
Fu Yan: "Are you and your cousin at home?"
Wang Xinyu frowned: "Isn’t that obvious? Who doesn’t go home for New Year’s?"
"At your hometown?"
"What about it?"
"Nothing, just asking. I’ll call back later if your cousin is not at home."
Fu Yan hung up, started the car, ready to leave. After smelling the alcohol on his body, he punched the steering wheel, and the car horn blared.
In the end, he had to get out and find a hotel nearby to stay for the night, planning to leave the next day.
"What’s wrong with this person?"
Wang Xinyu put down the phone, turned around, and saw Jin Can entering with a bunch of fireworks, eager to say, "Sis, some guy was looking for you just now."
"Who?"
"Strange number, seemed to know me, didn’t say who. Just hung up the call."
Jin Can lowered her eyes, probably guessing who it was.
Actually, since she graduated from college, Fu Yan had never bothered her again.
Wang Xinyu asked cheerfully, "Sis, who is it? A suitor? Uncle has been urging you to get married, if you meet the right one just go for it."
Jin Can looked up, furrowed her brows: "Urge you, maybe?"
"I’m still young, but it’s different for you, almost hitting thirty and not finding anyone, sis, you don’t really like girls do you? I used to think you just said that to spite our aunt and uncle, but now I’m starting to suspect your orientation."
Jin Can raised her eyebrows in a smile, half-serious, half-joking.
Wang Xinyu suddenly asked: "Sis, have you been hurt by a man before?"
Jin Can’s face gradually grew cold, and she handed over the fireworks: "Take them and play."
