My Core is the Boss-Chapter 136.2: Flip the Table, If Someone Has to Die, Its You!
"Blood Drop, no matter where, I’m willing to say with you. I’ll wait for you."
Just like back on Nine Plate Mountain. Her black veil drifted down, revealing a pale, flawless left cheek branded with a cursed mark.
Qi Yuan took in both the mark and her breathtaking beauty. He remembered what he once said and murmured, "The Golden Canary has always been the number one beauty of the Eighteen Mountains."
She had never been ugly.
Canary could no longer hold back. Just like in the old days, she leaped into Qi Yuan’s arms, wrapping her legs tightly around his waist. Her delicate, petite frame clung to him like a koala.
Qi Yuan held her, eyes full of quiet laughter. This damned game, it really does want to hand me a virtual wife!
Then, he looked at the Great Sun Golden Lotus and opened his mouth wide. The endlessly blazing flower flew straight into his mouth.
It blazed with fire, its heat scorching, powerful enough to disintegrate the entire world. Yet Qi Yuan remained utterly unafraid. An infinitely terrifying aura surged within him, threatening to rip him apart. He felt unimaginably powerful, yet also on the verge of exploding.
Canary clung to him like a quiet little bird, silent and still. Countless eyes were on her, yet she felt no shame—only a deep, aching wish to make the moment last.
Raising the blood-red longsword, Qi Yuan addressed the hundred thousand Supremes behind him, "Inner demons are all illusions! Forget your demons, and they cease to exist!"
Empowered by the lotus, Qi Yuan's voice swept through the Myriad Demon Gate, spreading across the entire Flowing Wind World.
While holding the Canary, Qi Yuan pointed his longsword at the heavens. "All demon spawns of the world, by my decree, forge this blade!"
The sword was forged from every Demonic Origin in the world—his entire life as the Great Demon stripped bare and condensed into a single artifact. In a sense, it was the source of all Demonic Origin in this world. Furthermore, it was also engraved with the Inner Demon Lure. Qi Yuan sought to carve every inner demon into the sword.
Bai Ze smiled calmly. "Allow me to lend you a hand, Master."
Boundless Buddhist light surged across the blood-red sword. In the sky of the Flowing Wind World, a colossal blood-crimson sword appeared.
Arrogance, greed, sloth—endless emotions spread and boiled along its blade. A rolling tide of Buddhist chants echoed through the world.
***
In the City of No Return, Yuan Qi looked up at the sword. A smile touched his lips, tinged with sorrow. "Guardian..."
Across the 108,000 Cities, every cultivator looked up at the sky—some dazed, some relieved. In streets and alleys everywhere, countless mortals stared at the blood-red sword. Overwhelmed, they dropped to their knees in worship.
***
Endless inner demons flew into the sky, fusing into the blood-red longsword. Heat surged through Qi Yuan, white mist streaming off him in waves. The sword grew more and more bizarre. Saturated with every inner demon, it radiated the aura of a supreme demon blade—a true devil’s sword. It could shake the world with a single strike.
Bai Ze exhaled softly, his face filled with peace. He gazed upon Qi Yuan with reverence. Once everything was settled, he would never return to the Buddha Kingdom. He would remain in this world for lifetimes upon lifetimes. Still, he didn’t know how his master planned to handle the Great Sun Golden Lotus.
Meanwhile, Qi Yuan gritted his teeth, enduring the burning, searing pain. He stared at Canary with reluctant tenderness. "I'm leaving..."
She clutched him tightly, murmuring after a while, "I feel... so sleepy..."
Her eyes were closed, and her lashes quivered softly. It was as if she was truly asleep.
Seeing this, Qi Yuan finally said, "This time, I won't seek you at the end of time."
There was one more thing he didn't say. But you might forget me sometimes.
Canary smiled in her sleep, a tiny dimple blooming beneath her demon mark.
As he held her, Qi Yuan stared at everyone. Everyone gazed upon his blood-red silhouette, akin to the burning sun, with indescribable emotions.
Ling Yayi forced a smile. "Master, if there is reincarnation, please remember my name, Ling Yayi."
He didn't know what the Blood Master intended, but he knew the ending could only be separation.
He Wu's gaze was bleak, silent.
Supreme Yang Hun burst into tears. "Blood Master! WAAAH!"
A key appeared in Qi Yuan's hand. It was the reward for guarding the City of No Return.
[Please name the key.]
Qi Yuan stared at the Myriad Demon World, his eyes steady. "The Myriad Phenomena Key!"
Then, he smiled at the gate. "From now on, you are the Myriad Phenomena Gate"
For some, it was still the Myriad Demon Gate. For others, the Myriad Evil Gate. But now, it was the Myriad Phenomena Gate.
A door appeared in the sky, covered in strange symbols that no one could remember. Holding Canary and the blood-red sword, Qi Yuan flew toward the door and fit the key in.
Click.
The door swung open.
A desolate and endless darkness swept out. Even though Qi Yuan couldn’t see anything, he held Canary tight and plunged into the dark. The gate slammed shut behind them.
Akin to soldiers honoring the dragon king’s departure, the hundred thousand Supremes roared in unison, "Farewell, Blood Master!"
Qi Yuan heard none of it. He had already left the Flowing Wind World.
"Hold on tight!" he shouted, holding Canary and the sword. He felt as though he had plunged into a boundless abyssal sea, his body and soul crushed beneath infinite rejection. Something seemed to be squeezing him out.
Thus, he raised the sword and roared, "I built my foundation upon the Heavenly Dao itself!"
The chaos split open, revealing an endless expanse of galaxies. There were countless, boundless, beautiful stars. He activated his eye ability on them.
[This is a star. It has no name yet.]
A real star, not a projection!
Qi Yuan trembled with excitement. "This isn't the universe where the Canglan World exists, is it?"
The Great Sun Golden Lotus burned unbearably hot, threatening to incinerate everything, yet Qi Yuan’s heart surged with exhilaration.
"As expected, extorting heaven does pay off!"
T/N's: Wow! We are finally at the end of the second game. This was a truly long arc but I did kinda like it more than the first. This second game played with timelines again, at times confusing, it did tie things up in the end. I am sure the attentive reader could have seen through all the hints and deduced the storyline. I am not one, but I did enjoy the reveal and for everything to click in place. The second game definitely feels more conclusive in that he had a proper farewell to the world. Instead of getting KICKED OUT. Still extremely salty about that.
Well, Qi Yuan seems to have gained his golden core. For all the hype he has been giving it, trying to refine a golden core as big as the sun, it better be freaking massive. In fact the title of the book, directly translated is 'My core is the star, who cares about cultivation'. However, we were limited in the number of characters we could have in the title, and opted to go for 'My Core is the boss' to somewhat capture the first part of the original chinese title, while also introducing the game elements. We felt this was a balanced approach. Anyway, let's look forward to real world arc next!
