My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 747 Cyber Love Life
Zhou Cuilan had hardly made the call when she received messages from several young women by nightfall.
When Lin Feng and the others returned, they found the two deep in what looked like a very serious discussion.
"What are you two talking about?"
Zhou Cuilan replied, "I made some calls and asked an intermediary to introduce several girls to Si Bao, to see if he fancies any of them at first glance."
Er Bao’s interest was immediately piqued. "Ooh, let me have a look!"
Xiao Bao also joined in the fun. "I wanna see too!"
Since everyone was looking, Lin Feng couldn’t be left out either.
There were eight girls in total, all quite pretty, and each profile came with personal information.
Er Bao was amused. "Not bad, Grandma. The person you found is quite the professional."
Zhou Cuilan huffed, "Of course. She’s been a matchmaker for decades, very reliable."
Er Bao asked with a grin, "So, did he pick anyone?"
Si Bao answered all prim and proper, "Actually, I did take a liking to one of them. Her!"
The girl in the photo looked quiet and gentle. According to Zhou Cuilan, she worked as an office clerk at a company in Yangcheng and was only twenty-three this year.
Zhou Cuilan’s face immediately lit up with a smile. "Then I’ll ask the matchmaker for her contact information."
Si Bao had no objections.
When they had first contacted the matchmaker, they didn’t reveal it was for Si Bao. Instead, Zhou Cuilan claimed that a friend’s child had asked her to make some inquiries. They feared some girls might be after the Lin Family’s status and wealth, in which case the feelings wouldn’t be genuine. Therefore, their plan was to chat online first before meeting in person.
Besides, as Si Bao saw it, he was so handsome that a girl might just fall for his looks alone.
Zhou Cuilan thought that made sense too.
Lin Feng and Er Bao were both amused and exasperated when they heard this. If Lin Feng was willing to step in, and his siblings were willing to help, the daughters of tycoons and CEOs would be lining up for Si Bao.
So why didn’t they help? Because Si Bao, being the hopelessly straight guy he was, had already ruined several matches that Er Bao and San Bao had set up for him. They had come to understand that a guy like Si Bao had to find someone on his own. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
And so, Si Bao began his life of online dating.
Originally, Zhou Cuilan had planned for her grandson to go out more, make new friends, and hopefully find someone. Now, even with online dating, he still just stayed home playing video games. The only difference was that he had added online dating to his gaming routine, which worried Zhou Cuilan terribly.
Seeing her brows furrowed with concern, Lin Feng thought for a moment and said, "How about you find someone for Jia Jun’s eldest son too?"
It would give Zhou Cuilan something to do and also help a relative with a potential match. It was a great way to kill two birds with one stone.
Zhou Cuilan clapped her hands. "Ah, how could I forget there are other single youngsters in the family! I’ll call them right now."
"Go for it!" Lin Feng said with a smile.
「Before they knew it, mid-July arrived.」
Xiao Bao finished her final exams and began her summer vacation. Her scores came back: ninety in Chinese and ninety-five in Math—not bad at all.
It was also after the break started that Zhang Yuxi returned from L City. She planned to wait until Lin Daan’s matter was resolved before heading back.
In the sweltering summer heat, the whole family stayed indoors, enjoying the air conditioning and eating watermelon. The little castle had everything they could possibly need to have a good time without stepping outside, and there was no shortage of activities. For instance, Xiao Bao took a few of her close girlfriends to play at the family’s private amusement park.
With nothing better to do, Er Bao started a live stream to sell merchandise, including their own brand of clothing and ointments, mostly just for fun. Lin Feng was in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, while Zhang Yuxi was in the study working. Of the two elders, one was fishing in the pond just outside the yard, while the other sat next to Er Bao, watching her live stream.
Er Bao had originally made her fortune from live-streaming. However, after her own businesses grew and became successful, she hadn’t streamed in many years. She mostly posted vlogs now, documenting bits and pieces of her daily life.
When Er Bao announced on the platform that she was going to stream, it caused a huge stir. Less than a minute after she went live, three million fans were already watching. Now, her viewership had stabilized at a steady five million. That’s right, five million!
It had been a while since Er Bao last streamed, so she kicked things off with a giveaway to liven up the atmosphere. She offered up brand-name cosmetics and skincare products to the lucky winners. She also had designer bags and jewelry she’d designed herself. If she felt happy during the stream, she’d just give them away! Since she was selling her own products, Er Bao had the final say on giveaways and pricing, and she was always reasonable.
For a time, the chat was buzzing with excitement.
"I don’t need to say much about this ointment, right? Our Lin family brand’s medicine is trustworthy, and the results are incredible!"
"I’m doing a promotion during my stream today. This is usually 199 yuan a tube, but right now it’s only 150, and it comes with a free sample!"
"The link is up! There are only thirty thousand tubes available, and I won’t be restocking once they’re gone."
Good grief, they sold out in less than three minutes!
Some people bought ten tubes at a time. Since three tubes constituted a full course of treatment, and the formula contained no steroids, the healing process was gradual. Even though it was only a forty-five-yuan discount per tube, for those buying in bulk, that added up to several hundred yuan. Some bought dozens of tubes at once, as the maintenance phase was also very important.
"Next up is this pain-relieving plaster... I don’t need to spell this one out for you, do I..."
Those who had missed out on the ointment kept flooding the chat, begging Er Bao to restock.
Er Bao propped her chin on her hand as she watched the screen. "Alright, since my cuties are all asking so nicely, I’ll add another thirty thousand tubes. But if you miss out again, there’s nothing I can do."
"It’s all about your internet speed and how fast you can click! Ready, set, go—the link is up!"
In the blink of an eye, another thirty thousand tubes were sold.
Standing to the side, Zhou Cuilan’s eyes went wide. That had to be so much money. No wonder she saw so many people live-streaming on her phone. As soon as Er Bao listed an item, it was gone in a flash.
"Hmm, now for the giveaway. Let’s see what I should give away this time."
"How about a necklace? See this? I designed it myself, and it was the top-selling item this summer."
"Those of you who’ve bought it already know that it’s not just a necklace—it can also be worn as a ring. Look at this pattern, look at this design."
"For the giveaway... let’s go with three... Type ’Er Bao is the queen’ on the screen, and I’ll take a screenshot in a moment."
"The first three people will get this necklace. Ready... set... go! Okay, I’m taking the screenshot now..."
"Look, here’s the screenshot..."
When the live stream ended, Er Bao got up to stretch. She had been streaming for an hour, and Zhou Cuilan had been right there watching for the entire hour.
"Er Bao, you’re so incredible, selling all that stuff."
Er Bao smiled. "It’s mainly because our family’s products are good. Otherwise, so many people wouldn’t buy them!"
Zhou Cuilan nodded. In contrast to the low-key San Bao, Zhou Cuilan admired Er Bao’s flamboyance and high-profile style. In her younger days, she had been quite the formidable woman herself. Everyone she worked with used to praise her capabilities.
"Grandma, if you like live-streaming, you could do it too."
Zhou Cuilan asked curiously, "Can I sell things too?"
She was over seventy; she wasn’t looking to make money, just to have some fun. She had seen people her age live-streaming on her phone before, doing everything from square dancing to cooking.
Er Bao thought for a moment.
"Of course. You can just sell our family’s products."
"But if you don’t want to sell anything, you can stream other things."
"It mainly depends on what you’re good at, Grandma."
Zhou Cuilan looked lost. "But I’m not good at anything."
Er Bao laughed. "That’s fine. You can just stream your daily life."
"Besides, aren’t you good at gardening, Grandma? You could stream that."
An idea instantly struck Zhou Cuilan. "Then I’ll stream my gardening!"
It’s important for the elderly to have things to do, otherwise they’re at risk of dementia.
