Early the next morning, Lin Feng got up to prepare breakfast. Lin Jie had stocked the fridge with plenty of food, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything he might need.

He busied himself in the kitchen as Xiao Bao woke up. She rubbed her eyes and pitter-pattered to the other room to see if Da Bao and Si Bao were there. Si Bao was still sound asleep and snoring, but Da Bao had always been incredibly disciplined. He was already dressed and ready to help in the kitchen.

"You’re up. Come on, Big Brother will take you to brush your teeth."

"Okay!"

Da Bao squeezed the toothpaste onto the brush and filled the cup with water. Xiao Bao brushed her teeth, still half-asleep. Afterward, Da Bao washed her face for her and then found a comb to do her hair.

Just then, Er Bao woke up as well. "Morning, Xiao Bao! Morning, Big Brother!"

Da Bao’s movements were a bit clumsy. He pulled Xiao Bao’s hair painfully several times and didn’t dare to continue. "You’re just in time. Here!"

Er Bao sat down with a smile. "Alright!"

Da Bao served the rice. "You two are the most beautiful!"

Er Bao waved her hand impatiently. "No rose-colored glasses. I want the real answer."

"It’s the truth," Da Bao said seriously. "You two are the most beautiful!"

Er Bao pouted, her interest instantly gone. Her big brother always saw the women in his family through a filter; no one else could ever compare.

This all started after an advertising banquet Third Sister had attended. The event featured a top celebrity who was a renowned beauty, socialite, model, and talent all rolled into one. Upon her debut, she had stunned the entire entertainment industry with her beauty. Even Third Sister admitted that, aside from their mother, Zhang Yuxi, this woman was the only one whose looks could rival her own. Er Bao was also captivated by her looks, and even Si Bao had agreed she was pretty—a little prettier than Er Bao, but not quite on Third Sister’s level.

Yet, Da Bao’s verdict was, "She’s alright, but she’s a far cry from you." He had said that to Er Bao!

From that moment on, there were only two kinds of women in Da Bao’s eyes: his sisters and everyone else. Good grief. Zhang Yuxi changed her clothes, tidied herself up, and came out of her room to find everyone waiting for her. Even Si Bao was already up, which made her feel quite embarrassed.

"Er Bao, your hairstyle is lovely. Xiao Bao’s is lovely too."

Er Bao giggled. "Why don’t you get one too, Mom? If you get all dressed up, you’ll look just like an eighteen-year-old."

Zhang Yuxi smiled. "You’re such a sweet-talker. I’m getting old."

Er Bao raised an eyebrow. "But you look super young, Mom. You don’t look old at all."

Zhang Yuxi reminded her, "Hurry up and eat. After we finish, we’ll go see Mi Fan."

Xiao Bao cheered, "I want to see Mi Fan! I love playing with him most of all!"

Zhang Yuxi massaged her temples. "Da Bao, stop feeding her. She’s already in first grade."

Da Bao put down the small spoon and instead started putting food on Xiao Bao’s plate. "Hurry and eat!"

Toward the end of the meal, Xiao Bao, eager to go play, pretended she was full. Lin Feng, however, saw right through her little scheme. "We’ll leave after you finish eating."

Xiao Bao pouted. "But Daddy, I really am full..."

Lin Feng’s voice was soft but firm. "You know Daddy doesn’t like it when people lie."

Xiao Bao pouted so hard her lower lip stuck out, but she didn’t say another word and reluctantly kept eating.

"Here, Big Brother will feed you."

"Big Brother Da Bao is the best!" Xiao Bao immediately broke into a wide grin.

Lin Feng sighed heavily and got up to clear the table.

In the kitchen, Er Bao and Si Bao washed the dishes together. Er Bao started teasing Si Bao about finding a girlfriend, calling it his top priority.

Si Bao raised an eyebrow. "If I get a girlfriend, you guys will be the first to know!"

Er Bao let out a teasing "Oho?" "So, you already have someone in mind?"

Si Bao looked smug. "Not exactly, but there are plenty of girls who like me."

Er Bao gave him a light slap. "Well, you’d better not mess around. If you dare become a player, I’ll be the first one to come after you."

Si Bao put on a frightened expression. "I wouldn’t dare! Besides, am I that kind of person?"

Er Bao huffed. "You’d better not be!" With that, she left the kitchen, returning a moment later to get Xiao Bao’s empty bowl and chopsticks.

After Xiao Bao finally finished eating, the family set off for Lin Jie’s house. Lin Jie’s family of three had gone out early to buy groceries. Wen Xiaoya’s parents were also coming over for lunch. They had just returned from their shopping trip when Lin Feng’s family arrived.

"Brother, it’s great that you came, but you didn’t have to bring gifts! You’re being too formal," Lin Jie said.

Xiao Bao was the first to rush inside. "Mi Fan! Mi Fan!"

Mi Fan ran out from a room, calling "Big Sister!" in his little-kid voice, which delighted Xiao Bao.

The two of them had a blast playing in the children’s room, and Si Bao soon joined in on the fun. Er Bao also trotted over, playing with Mi Fan’s toys and looking at his picture books.

Out in the living room, Lin Jie entertained his guests. Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi toured the new home, which had three bedrooms, two living areas, and two bathrooms, all very nicely decorated. It was a previously-owned house but was in excellent condition. In a city like Jingcheng, houses were extremely expensive, and on top of that, this one was in a desirable school district. As they passed the children’s room, Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi saw Si Bao and Er Bao squabbling over an Ultraman book. The couple shook their heads helplessly. When those two get together, they’re just like kids.
