My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 645 Looking for Big Brother and Fourth Brother to Play!
Erbao and Zhang Yuxi both had to work overtime tonight.
After the father and daughter finished dinner, Xiaobao continued to copy from her calligraphy book but complained of being tired in less than ten minutes.
Lin Feng came over to take a look and exclaimed, "Well, I’ll be darned."
All in all, she had only written four rows in half an hour. The only consolation was that the characters were legible, which was to be expected since she was copying.
Xiaobao looked just like an exhausted worker after a long day, pleading pitifully, "Daddy, studying is just too exhausting..."
Lin Feng was speechless. "Then take a break!"
She never complained about being tired during filming, so why does homework make her so weary?
The moment Xiaobao heard the word "break," she cheered, "Yay!"
With that, Lin Feng took the relieved Xiaobao upstairs to bed.
Lin Feng adjusted the temperature of the hot water and the bathroom, placed a clean set of pajamas beside the tub, and called Xiaobao over. He gave her the same old reminders.
"Don’t play with the water, and wash up quickly! Be careful, the floor is wet. If anything happens, call for Daddy!"
"Okay!"
Lin Feng closed the door. "Daddy will be waiting right outside for you!"
Xiaobao hummed in acknowledgment.
She loved bubble baths, so Lin Feng had added a generous amount of bubble beads.
Xiaobao was having the time of her life, so much so that Lin Feng had to knock on the door and call out for quite a while, "Xiaobao, are you finished bathing?"
"Almost done!"
This went back and forth until Lin Feng issued an ultimatum, "You have ten more minutes!"
Xiaobao finally got herself cleaned up and came out slowly, a full fifteen minutes later.
Seeing her hair was quite damp, Lin Feng took out the hairdryer to dry it for her.
"Daddy, I want to go play with Big Brother and Fourth Brother!"
Lin Feng tidied up her bedding. "We’ll leave this Friday, and we’ll be back on Sunday night!"
Xiaobao joyfully rolled around on the bed.
Lin Feng feigned sternness. "Go to sleep now. If Mom comes back and sees you’re still awake at this hour, she’s definitely going to be angry."
Xiaobao quickly and obediently tucked herself under the covers, blinking her big eyes.
"Daddy, can you tuck me in?"
Faced with such an adorable daughter, Lin Feng was always happy to oblige any request she made.
He half-reclined on the bed, patting Xiaobao’s back. "Go to sleep. Daddy will pat you to sleep!"
Xiaobao snuggled closer to her dad.
"Daddy, it’s been so long since you’ve tucked Xiaobao to sleep!"
"That’s because Xiaobao has grown up and can sleep all by herself now."
"Now that I’m grown up, will Daddy still love Xiaobao?"
"Of course, I’ll love you. You will always be Daddy’s precious baby. That will never change!"
In less than five minutes, Xiaobao was fast asleep.
A car’s headlights flashed past the window, and Lin Feng knew Zhang Yuxi and the others had returned.
He tiptoed out of the room and heard three voices from downstairs.
"Wow, Dad kept the food warm! I’m so hungry, I’m going to have some Fan Fan!"
As Lin Feng went downstairs, he saw the trio who had worked overtime already digging in.
"Hubby, you’re not sleeping yet?" Zhang Yuxi asked.
"Dad, would you like some? We just started," Erbao added.
Lin Feng smiled. "You all go ahead. I’ve already eaten!"
He tidied up Xiaobao’s copybook. The sharp-eyed Erbao asked, "Dad, has Xiaobao started on this copybook?"
This was the copybook they had bought for Xiaobao to practice her handwriting, an exercise she had previously bluffed her way through. They didn’t want to force her, so they had let her be.
Why did she start using the copybook today?
"Her teacher said her handwriting wasn’t good today and told her to practice," Lin Feng explained. "She wrote four rows in half an hour. Eight characters per row."
That boiled down to about one character per minute.
Hmph, and she still thinks it’s such hard work!
Erbao laughed as she ate.
"Just let her be. She’s a bit carefree now. When she gets older and realizes her handwriting is ugly, she’ll probably start writing properly without us having to say a thing."
Zhang Yuxi, who had already adopted a laissez-faire attitude, nodded in agreement with Erbao’s words.
Lin Feng didn’t speak, just ate his food silently.
Before going to bed, Lin Feng went to check on Xiaobao.
She kicked off her blanket again. Her favorite thing is to sleep while hugging it!
Lin Feng had a routine. He had to check on her before he went to sleep. If he woke up in the middle of the night, around three or four in the morning, he would go check again and cover her up. Then, when he got up to cook breakfast, he would check on her one more time.
It’s not much of a worry in the summer, but it’s a different story in winter.
The weather was cold, and with the heating on, Xiaobao would often wake up complaining of a dry and sore throat. Lin Feng had put a small humidifier in her room, which helped a little.
When it gets cold in the middle of the night, the silly girl doesn’t even know to look for her blanket if it’s fallen off. She would just be curled up like a ball. Most of the times Lin Feng got up at night, he would find her without her blanket.
Because he had the system, covering Xiaobao with a blanket in the middle of the night and other such tasks didn’t feel troublesome or tiring at all.
Zhang Yuxi’s heart ached for her husband.
"Honey, why don’t we move Xiaobao to the room next door?"
The room next door was a small study, but Lin Feng rejected the idea.
Seeing that Lin Feng was insistent, and knowing she couldn’t get up in the middle of the night herself, Zhang Yuxi was troubled for a long time. Later, when she noticed that Lin Feng seemed to be in good spirits and unaffected by the routine, she didn’t say any more about it.
