My College Teacher is My Children's Mom-Chapter 614: The Pavilion Closest to the Water Enjoys Moonlight First!
From the bottom of his heart, Lin Feng had never wanted to pressure any of his children to study. When it came to academics, he believed in letting nature take its course. If they could get good grades, great. If not, that was fine too.
Perhaps it was due to the rewards from the system, but as the quadruplets grew up, every one of them became very successful. It was unclear whether it was because Little Treasure lacked the system’s rewards, or perhaps she just didn’t understand what studying was, but she had begun to despise it, getting a headache at the mere mention of the word. Whenever her teachers assigned homework, the look on her face when she got home...
Watching his daughter sleep like a little piglet, Lin Feng felt both curious and amused. He kissed her chubby little hands.
"If you don’t want to study, then don’t."
"No one is forcing you. Look how anxious you’ve become."
Zhang Yuxi sighed. "You see? With the quads doting on her like this, she’s going to be completely spoiled and unruly in the future."
Lin Feng didn’t mind. She was his daughter; he would let her do as she pleased.
"When I was young, my family had its ups and downs. Sometimes I couldn’t make my own decisions."
"Now, our family isn’t short of money. The kids can do whatever they want, as long as it makes them happy."
Zhang Yuxi reminisced about when she and Lin Feng first got together. They were renting a small apartment, and even riding an electric scooter felt like a luxury. He was a new dad, yet he had to take care of the baby and himself, working tirelessly to get them to where they were today. In her heart, Zhang Yuxi had always felt indebted to Lin Feng.
"Whatever my husband says, goes. I’ll listen to you."
After Children’s Day, the summer vacation was just next month. Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi discussed taking Little Treasure to learn Taekwondo, swimming, and other activities during the break. Although they had an all-around athlete like Sibao at home, he was always too soft on Little Treasure whenever he tried to teach her. Besides, which of those activities didn’t require enduring hardship?
Zhang Yuxi had no objections. "That all sounds good." When it came to the children’s education, she always followed Lin Feng’s lead. If it weren’t for her husband’s excellent guidance, how could their children all be so accomplished? It’s all thanks to the kids’ dad!
In his dorm, Sibao was chatting with his roommate when he suddenly asked, "Is your girlfriend a live-streamer?"
The roommate was puzzled. "Yeah, why?"
"Ask her for me what kind of sunscreen a guy should use."
The roommate asked in shock, "What are you planning to do? Wear sunscreen?"
"Yeah," Sibao said melancholically, touching his face. "I’ve gotten so tan recently that even Little Treasure is disgusted with me."
The roommate was speechless.
Staring at his reflection, Sibao added, "I have to take good care of my skin from now on and try to get fair again. Otherwise, if I get ugly, Little Treasure won’t like me, and I’ll drag down the family’s average attractiveness."
Listening to Sibao mutter to himself about being ugly, his roommate’s fists clenched so hard he wanted to punch someone. Damn it, if he’s ugly, then what am I? A monster that scares people to death on the street?
At just eighteen years old, Sibao was in his prime, yet he was already considered a veteran in the sports world. He was bright, handsome, cheerful, and always ready to help others, not to mention he came from a wealthy family. Countless girls at the training center were lining up to pursue him, making his teammates unbearably jealous. They had all made it to the national team, boasting considerable skills and decent family backgrounds themselves. But compared to Sibao, they were utterly crushed into dust! This is too much, really too much.
Completely unaware of his roommate’s turmoil, Sibao’s phone rang. It was the smiling dorm supervisor, calling to say a girl was looking for him.
Sibao flatly refused, "I’m very busy, Auntie. I don’t have time."
This kind of scene happened every day, leaving his roommates to weep with envy.
「On the other side.」
The chickens and other things Lin Feng had sent to the kids began arriving one after another. Sanbao, who lived alone, took her time cooking, savoring the taste of home. The others all lived in single dorm rooms with a shared kitchen.
The communal kitchen was seldom used. It was mostly for students from less well-off families, since cooking for themselves could save a fair bit of money. Some people, however, were exceptions, like Dabao and his siblings.
Dabao had always been mature and steady. Aside from Sanbao, he was the best cook among them. After eating their dad’s cooking for over a decade, they found most food from outside to be unpalatable. Having a kitchen meant he could occasionally make some egg noodles or porridge, which was deeply satisfying. In his spare time, he would cook himself a delicious stew as a treat.
Erbao had originally thought she could just make do, but she never expected that the food from outside was so bad it nearly made her vomit. That was no exaggeration. Even though she was at a top university where the cafeteria food was decent—and some students even found it delicious—she absolutely couldn’t get used to it! Ultimately, she had no choice but to start cooking patiently for herself, even buying a large clay pot for making stews.
Sanbao didn’t have a problem with outside food, as she had often traveled abroad since she was a child and was already familiar with different cuisines. But back then, that was only for a few meals at a time during their performance trips. The whole family would travel together, and they had their own villa in New York where Lin Feng would always cook delicious meals for them. Like Erbao, Sanbao had originally planned to just make do, but she couldn’t bring herself to compromise on food, so she also started cooking proper meals for herself.
Sibao, on the other hand, was not picky at all. He could eat anything. Whether it was delicious or disgusting, he could make do. Of course, that didn’t mean he didn’t miss the taste of home. But since he was still in the country, the food provided for him was already quite good. Plus, he was thick-skinned enough to occasionally freeload meals at his coach’s house, so he was living quite comfortably.
When Dabao received the package, his eyes stung the moment he opened it. Inside was full of cured meat his dad had made, along with preserved fruits and other treats. He carefully stored everything in the fridge. Seeing there was still plenty of time, he took out the chicken to wash it.
Lin Feng had already cut the free-range chicken into pieces and packed them into single-serving portions for convenience. He had even portioned out all the necessary ingredients for the stew. Making a stew didn’t require advanced culinary skills, which guaranteed the kids could all eat well.
A lump formed in Dabao’s throat. Since he had arrived here, Lin Feng had been sending them things intermittently—winter clothes, food, and more.
Dabao put some rice on to steam and then set the chicken to stew. He sat nearby doing his homework, keeping an eye on the stove.
Dabao was a top student at his university in Massachusetts, a true prodigy—the cream of the crop among academic elites. His professors adored him and had even helped him apply for a scholarship. He was handsome, academically brilliant, and came from an outstanding family. The number of people pursuing Dabao was too great to count.
To Dabao, they would only be a distraction from his studies.
Lured by the aroma, others from the same floor started to wander over. They had all gotten familiar with each other, and as they chatted, Dabao noticed them all eyeing the pot.
With a knowing smile, he said, "Let’s all eat together in a bit."
His peers, a group of talented individuals from similarly well-to-do families, were overjoyed. Dabao was good-natured and had his own way of getting along with everyone. The main reason they were so nice to Dabao was simple: he had two younger sisters! And in terms of looks and ability, those girls were one in a million! They hoped to first curry favor with their potential future brother-in-law to gain an advantage.
Dabao knew exactly what they were scheming and inwardly scoffed. Who his two sisters would marry in the future was ultimately their own decision. He and his father were merely gatekeepers, there to offer guidance and approval.
