"We will have to confirm first," said the guard, nodding as he allowed them to proceed.

"Come with us to the waiting area. You can stay there while we contact the royal family of the Gravis Kingdom and inform them that Lady Millim’s partner wishes to participate... if Lady Millim approves of you," he added.

Leon nodded and followed the guard to the waiting area, with Roselia and Roman accompanying him. The waiting area was a large hall where they settled in.

"It will take some time, so make yourselves comfortable," the guard said before leaving.

Leon and the others nodded, preparing to wait for the royal family’s response.

Leon and the others settled into the waiting area, a dimly lit lounge with dark velvet seats and a faint glow from enchanted lanterns. The atmosphere was beautiful and cozy.

Roselia crossed her arms and leaned against the wall. "So, we just wait now? Feels like we’re wasting time."

Roman chuckled. "Patience. If Millim really is a royal, then there’s no way they’ll just let anyone join without checking first."

Leon sat back, his eyes scanning the other occupants of the room. Some were vampires, others were werewolves, and even a few shadowy figures that carried an eerie presence. Competitors? Mercenaries? He couldn’t tell, but he knew one thing—this was no ordinary tournament.

From the others, they learned that not only partners but also followers of the Royal family participates in the tournament. It was no longer limited to just partners, as Leon discovered from ancient records. This meant that Millim would be participating alongside her maids, Naval and Liliana, the only followers she have.

Additionally, the followers of the tournament winner were granted noble titles, leading to a surge of mercenaries competing on behalf of different royal family members.

There were a total of 13 siblings in the tournament, and each of them was allowed a five-member team—this was the limit imposed on every prince or princess, aside from their partner. The tier is also limited to only Tier III peak, which is the lowest Tier of the youngest sibling among the Princes or Princess, the venue will be engulfed in special formation that will keep the participants at that level to maintain an equal ground for everyone in this tournament.

"Roman, Roselia, Liliana, and Naval… We’re still short of one," Leon thought, analyzing their current lineup. His mind quickly shifted to the Dark Pope, the individual he had created before. "That guy is the best choice—he can handle both buffs and debuffs.

Leon nodded to himself, having made his decision. "I guess you’ll be participating with us," he mumbled, already planning how to summon him secretly later.

After some time, a different vampire, dressed in dark silver armor, entered the waiting area. His red eyes locked onto Leon. "The Gravis Kingdom has been informed. Lady Millim has been notified of your request."

Leon straightened. "And?"

The vampire paused before continuing, "She has agreed to see you… but she gave no confirmation on whether she’ll accept you as her partner. That will be decided when you meet her."

Roselia smiled. "Figures. She probably wants to test you first-to see you are real or not."

Leon chuckled. "I wouldn’t have it any other way."

The armored vampire gestured toward a nearby portal. "Step through here. It will take you directly to the Gravis Kingdom. Prepare yourselves."

Without hesitation, Leon led the way, stepping into the portal, ready to meet Millim again.

As Leon stepped through the portal, a wave of cold air rushed past him. The sensation was brief, and before he knew it, he was standing in an entirely different place—a grand hall bathed in crimson and silver hues. The architecture was gothic, with towering columns, intricate carvings, and a dark, elegant atmosphere fitting for a vampire kingdom.

The moment Roselia and Roman arrived beside him, the heavy doors ahead creaked open, revealing a long red carpet leading to a raised platform where a throne sat. Seated on it was none other than Millim, dressed in an extravagant dark dress, her silver hair cascading over her shoulders. Beside her stood two figures—Naval and Liliana, her loyal maids.

Millim’s crimson eyes locked onto Leon’s, analyzing him with an unreadable expression. Then, with a slight smirk, she rested her chin on her palm. "So, you really came."

Leon returned her gaze with a calm smile. "Did you doubt me?"

Millim chuckled softly. "Not at all. But I do wonder—do you truly understand what it means to be my partner in this tournament?"

Leon shrugged. "It means I fight at your side and help you win."

Naval, the short and excitable one, huffed. "Hmph! As if you can win it. It would’ve been better if you had just come to take us away from here." She pouted, crossing her arms.

Liliana, the calmer of the two maids, sighed. "It’s fine. It’s not like she can leave anyway."

Leon furrowed his brows at their words and activated his Miracle Eyes. "You’re a prisoner here?" He asked as he noticed the faint sigils marked on Millim’s wrists.

Millim gave a small shrug. "This is my punishment for abandoning my duty as a member of the royal family and fleeing from here." She let out a dry chuckle. "Though it’s not like I’m treated badly… aside from being forced to participate in family rituals."

Leon nodded in understanding. "I’ll make sure we win."

Millim looked at him, her crimson eyes filled with a mix of emotions. A single tear slipped from her eye as she whispered, "I know that. That’s why I ran away without telling you."

She stepped closer to him and hesitated before placing a hand on his chest. "I can already see it… you killing my other siblings for my sake." Her voice trembled slightly. "That’s why I fled. How could I bring myself to fight my own siblings? To be the reason for their deaths? Even if I’ve spent my whole life preparing for this… I’d rather die than take part in such a ritual and win it."

Leon gently took her hand in his. "You won’t have to do it alone. If you don’t want to kill, then don’t. I’ll handle everything."

Millim looked up at him, searching his eyes for any sign of hesitation. When she found none, she let out a shaky breath and nodded. "Alright… I’ll trust you."

Naval sniffled, rubbing her eyes. "Ugh, you guys are so dramatic. Just win already so we can leave this place!"

Leon smirked. "That’s the plan."

"You say that, but how do you plan to do that?" Millim’s maid asked, her voice laced with skepticism. "Until only a single person remains alive in the tournament, The barrier will not come down."

She leaned back in her seat within the royal mansion’s palace, arms crossed as she challenged Leon’s confidence.

Leon’s expression remained calm. "Who said anything about following their rules?" He smirked.

Millim raised an eyebrow. "You have a way to bypass the ritual?"

Leon leaned forward slightly, his eyes gleaming with determination. "If the rule states that only one person can remain, then I’ll ensure that every other contestant willingly concedes before the final moment. That way, no unnecessary bloodshed will be needed."

Naval scoffed. "Hah! You think those lunatic royals will just give up?"

Leon chuckled. "Not all of them. But with the right pressure, the right strategies, and the right... incentives, I can make sure Millim stands victorious without sacrificing herself or her siblings."

Liliana narrowed her eyes, intrigued. "And if they refuse?"

Leon’s smirk turned sharp. "Then I’ll make sure they have no choice."

"It won’t work," Millim frowned, shaking her head. "The barrier surrounding the tournament is special. It will only come down after all royal blood, except for one, dies inside it."

Leon narrowed his eyes. "Hah, then I guess the first thing I need to do is take care of that barrier."

Millim sighed, shaking her head again. "It’s not that simple. The barrier was created by several Tier XII alchemists and rune masters. Do you even have a way to break something that powerful?"

Leon smirked, his confidence unwavering. "I don’t need to break it. I just need to find a loophole."

Naval crossed her arms. "A loophole in an ancient, unbreakable barrier? You sure love impossible tasks."

Leon chuckled. "Nothing is impossible. Every barrier has a weakness—it’s just a matter of finding it."

’And with my combination of Sage eyes as well as Miracle eyes nothing is impenetrable by me’ Leon inwardly thought looking at them.

Millim stared at him for a moment before sighing. "Fine. If you think you can do it, then go ahead. But even if you find a loophole, what’s your plan after that? You’ll still have to deal with my siblings, and they won’t go down easily."

Leon’s smirk widened. "That’s exactly why I brought my team. Roman, Roselia, Naval, Liliana, and…" he paused for a moment before adding, "One more I’ll be summoning soon."

Millim narrowed her eyes. "You’re serious about this, aren’t you?"

"Of course. I didn’t come all this way just to lose." Leon’s voice carried a firm determination. "I’ll find a way to break that barrier, and I’ll make sure you don’t have to go through that ritual."

Tears welled up slightly in Millim’s eyes, but she quickly wiped them away. "You idiot… That’s why I ran away without telling you. I knew you’d do something crazy like this."

She stepped closer and lightly punched his chest. "You don’t have to go this far for me."

Leon shook his head. "That’s where you’re wrong. I do have to go this far—because you matter to me."
