Chapter 18: Urisa's Threat

(Karsten)

Urisa entered my office in full furry, her blue eyes blazed like the ice she was made from. She still clutched the arm where Arata had twisted it. Not in my wildest imagination would I have thought Arata would literally hold someone back using force, someone like Urisa.

The woman knew how to hold grudges and this could end up in disaster.

"Are you hiring women from the military now? Is this what it has come down to? How dare she touch and manhandle me?"

I would have hilariously laughed at her absurdness had I not been in such a horrible mood.

"She is not from the military and I was the one who told her to hold my meetings and anyone coming to see me."

Urisa had now made her way to the one-seater and occupied it. Placing her long leg one over the other, as if she owned the place and not me.

She was still fuming like a simmering kettle, the smoke almost coming out of her nostrils. Her cheeks and nose were red in embarrassment as I turned to face her.

"Who the hell even she is? I didn't know you were hiring cows," she mocked Arata and her words infuriated me instantly.

She was riding on the fact that Arata was curvy and not flat and bony like the girls nowadays who wished to starve themselves and had the appearance of zombies instead of fresh flowers.

I crossed my arms and deadpanned, knowing she would flip at my answer.

"Watch your tone, she is my secretary and my girlfriend. I won't take insults against her lightly."

Her mouth opened like a whirlpool which sucked away everything in its wake. Especially happiness.

"Estás bromeando. (You are joking,)" she blurted out, almost shooting out of her chair.

"No lo estoy. La llevaré a la fiesta de cumpleaños de la abuela y la presentaré a la familia. ("I am not. I am bringing her along for Grandma's birthday party and will introduce her to the family.")

I knew why Urisa was here and I needed to send a bold statement home through her so they would stop pestering me and keep insisting on me to take Urisa as my chosen wife.

She had her hand around her throat as if I had physically choked her, I had emotionally, I knew.

At the age of 31, she was still pursuing me, but I didn't have feelings for her; they were one-sided since our childhood.

But Urisa had been there for me in tough times; she was a close friend, and my mom loved her. She was the daughter of my mom's best friend and we had grown up together.

While she grew up with dreams of becoming my wife, I had no intentions of getting married. I could get any woman I wanted, why settle for one?

Besides, Urisa was mostly a fake stuck-up bitch, she could literally turn someone's life into hell. I didn't want someone vindictive.

Getting up she stepped closer and placed her shaking hands on my chest. Tears swam abundantly in her eyes and I hated to see women cry. The world seemed brighter when they smiled.

"Please! Kars, for old time's sake. How can you just choose someone else? We were meant to be. We were each other's first." She used the virginity card again. Both of us had popped each other's cherries.

I gently grabbed her wrists and pulled them down from my chest, distancing myself.

"Urisa, we were young and naive. And we did it on your insistence. Don't pull that card every time you don't get your way with me. You are my friend and I respect you. Let's keep it to that."

She scoffed, wiping her tears away.

"You think she can accommodate your lifestyle? I know you will never settle for one woman and I could have let you live your little fantasies." She turned to grab her designer bag from the one-seater and faced me again. I calmly watched her as she shouted.

"I'll wait for the day you come crawling back. Mama will never accept her, and I'll ensure that." She threatened, walking past me. She referred to my mother, whom she also called Mama.

I wasn't worried about her threats. I knew my mother wouldn't accept any woman for me other than Urisa; she was not my choice. Little did they know Arata was just a decoy to keep them from pushing me towards marriage. My family was complicated.

I took a step towards her as my anger spiked at the threat.

"Delusions don't suit you, Urisa. You threaten me again and I will cut you off from my family forever. Don't test me." Another step and her pupils dilated in fear. She knew I would never touch her but my imposing words were enough to put her in her place.

I breathed threateningly on her face. "Leave, and stay away from my girlfriend."

She threw one wistfully glum look my way and sniffled.

"I loved you, Karsten but you are a monster. I hope someday you will feel the pain of rejection like I did." With these heavily melancholic words, she left my office, closing the door

behind her.

The storm had abated for now, but I knew she could target Arata; I had to ensure her safety better.

Grabbing my phone from my desk, I turned on the footage from Arata's office. I had a secret camera installed in her place to keep an eye on. It was in one of the panels of the window.

To know a girl better, especially one you have to parade around as your girlfriend one should know everything about her.

Arata intrigued me and I had my motives for choosing her. The footage began to play as she left her seat and rushed out of the office. I knew she must be ensuring Urisa had left without causing any more scenes.

When she returned, she completed a few tasks and then relaxed against the chair. I settled down in mine and observed her some more. Finally, she swiped the passcode on her phone and opened it. I memorised it. She clicked on her Instagram and my curiosity peaked.

What was she doing?

And then there was the video of "Twisted Rider" on her phone, playing as she watched with keen interest and with her legs clamped shut.

Aroused, she was fucking aroused.

A shit-eating grin spread on my lips as I planned my next course of action.

So Arata was a thirsty girl and followed Twisted Rider. It was time to sate her thirst.
