My Borderline Supervillain-Slash-Hero System-Chapter 70 – Lycantropy Final Phase
Chapter 70: Chapter 70 – Lycantropy Final Phase
Sebastian Hemp was known for being a great planner. But today, everything had gone wrong.
First, all his traps—his assassins, mages, and the strongest warriors of his wolf pack—had fallen one after another. And not to an army, not to some divine catastrophe, but to a single human: Zane.
Strangely enough, Sebastian wasn’t angry at first. No—he was entertained. A human with such monstrous strength was unheard of. He could always rebuild his army, reform his pack... but a human this powerful? That was rare, and oddly amusing.
Yet now, as the battle dragged on and blood spilled across the shore of Lake Tussar, the situation had shifted. It was no longer amusing. It was personal.
When Eren Fox sacrificed his left arm to protect his—using the Damage Replacement Spell—Sebastian’s cold control finally cracked. Rage flooded his veins like wildfire.
He had only one thought now:
Kill Zane. At any cost.
He didn’t hesitate. He raised his head and roared to the heavens—
"LYCANTHROPY!"
Eren’s eyes widened. "No! Don’t use that spell!"
But it was too late.
"You still have time to undo it!" Eren pleaded, voice thick with desperation. "Your Highness, you’re not ready. That spell—it’s forbidden for a reason. The toll it’ll take on your body could be permanent! Please, forget the princess, forget this place! Leave! I’ll hold them back!"
Sebastian barked a short laugh, his teeth sharpening with every word.
"You think I’m doing this for you?" he snarled. "Don’t make me laugh. You’re just my servant. You lost your arm protecting mine? That’s your duty."
He clenched his fists, nails turning into claws.
"This... this I do for my honor."
Eren didn’t flinch. He wasn’t offended. He understood—this was his role. To protect. To obey. Even if the prince mocked him, even if his body broke, he would serve.
Zane, meanwhile, observed the transformation with a strange mix of caution and curiosity.
Werewolves...
Back on Earth, they were nothing more than legends, myths born of horror tales and fantasy shows. But now, right before his eyes, that fiction was turning real.
Sebastian’s body twisted unnaturally. Bones cracked and expanded. Fangs sprouted from his elongating jaw. Thick gray fur burst across his chest, back, and limbs. His muscles swelled as his posture shifted into something no longer human.
And with every second, Zane saw something terrifying:
His stats were spiking. Rapidly.
"System," he muttered, "show me his updated stats."
The numbers that floated before his vision made his heart skip a beat.
Zane narrowed his eyes.
"Three times my speed... and twice my strength." He clicked his tongue. "Now I really need to be careful."
Sebastian glared at him, growling through elongated teeth.
"You damnable human. You pushed me to this."
His claws glistened under the triple moons. "What did I ever do to you or your friends? You barge into my home, kill my people, cripple my butler—and you dare look me in the eye?"
He crouched low, muscles taut. "Now you’ll pay. With your life."
Then—he vanished.
Zane barely reacted in time.
Too fast! he thought, swinging his blade up.
The red spear clashed with Zane’s sword, metal shrieking as sparks lit the air. The force of the blow made Sebastian stumble back several steps, while Zane stood firm.
Sebastian’s eyes widened. Even with the strength he now wielded, Zane had blocked it. Not just blocked—absorbed it without budging.
The wolf prince growled louder, the bloodlust in him flaring. He charged again, this time unleashing a flurry of spear attacks. His strikes were ruthless—each one deadly enough to carve through boulders.
Zane’s sword danced with silver light.
Every parry felt like deflecting a thunderclap.
Every swing had to be perfect.
A single mistake, and Sebastian would gut him like a beast.
Thankfully, the System’s vision overlay kept tracking Sebastian’s movements and reading his attack patterns. It gave Zane a sliver of predictive edge—just enough to parry and dodge. But it wasn’t enough to win. Not with Eren still lurking like a shadow behind him.
Zane’s mind raced.
Sebastian’s strength kept increasing by the second—the transformation clearly not yet complete. The longer this dragged on, the more monstrous he became.
He grit his teeth as his sword clashed again with Sebastian’s spear. Sparks flew. His arms screamed from the force. Even as he held his ground, he could feel himself losing momentum.
All the while, Eren bided his time.
Then it happened.
Zane narrowly dodged a vicious swing aimed at his waist, his body twisting unnaturally as he pushed Luminous Step to the brink. He barely escaped.
But that slight lapse was the moment Eren had been waiting for.
Zane caught a flicker in the air—too late.
The massive mirror floating overhead pulsed with dangerous light, and two piercing beams shot down, striking both of Zane’s legs.
"Agh!" he gasped, pain ripping through his nerves.
But he didn’t stop. Couldn’t stop.
Every instinct screamed at him—Keep moving, or die.
He gritted his teeth and pushed on, even as blood streamed from the fresh burns. His legs were shaky now, unstable. But he pressed forward, refusing to show weakness.
The battle had shifted.
Sebastian—fueled by transformation—became the unstoppable aggressor.
Zane—wounded and bleeding—became the desperate runner.
And Eren—the silent ghost—continued his relentless sneak attacks.
Zane’s mind spun with one dreadful truth:
If this keeps going... I’m going to lose.
The only way out—the only way—was to unleash the true weight of his body. To drop the restrictions and land one earth-shattering blow that would end it all.
His fingers twitched.
One punch. That’s all it’ll take.
But he hesitated.
He saw Shelby’s smirk in the back of his mind, that quiet trust. That unspoken challenge.
"No shortcuts. Not yet."
Zane clenched his jaw and rejected the thought.
He would win on his own terms.
Suddenly, Sebastian halted mid-attack. His body shuddered. His eyes widened—then rolled back as he screamed, clutching his head.
"AARGH! It hurts!"
He howled in agony and slammed his skull against the ground—again and again—like a beast losing control.
Zane paused, panting, eyes narrowing.
"...This guy just went nuts."
He took a shaky breath. It was the first real breather he’d had in minutes.
Eren rushed forward, concern lining his face. "Your Highness!"
But Sebastian shoved him back with a pained growl.
"Eren... don’t come near me. Run. Get as far away as you can. I’m about to lose control!"
Then he looked to the sky and howled—
A monstrous, primal howl that sent shivers through the trees.
The moons above trembled in his glowing eyes.
Crack—pop—snap—
Bones broke and reformed.
His organs shifted.
A long, silver tail erupted from his spine.
Zane stared, jaw tight, blood dripping down his arms and legs.
So this is the final phase...
The transformation was excruciating.
But Sebastian didn’t stop. His body twisted further, muscles bulging, his skin tearing to give way to thick silver-gray fur.
And then, the change completed.
Standing before Zane was a towering beast—nearly ten feet tall, rippling with lean muscle and covered in radiant fur like starlight. His eyes glowed with bloodlust, his claws sharp enough to cleave mountains.
Zane raised a brow, unimpressed.
"Hmm... what a giant thing."
Then—
Ding!
