My Billionaire Exhusband Grovels Me After Divorce-Chapter 466 - I Don’t Like This Word
Chapter 466: Chapter 466 I Don’t Like This Word
“President Lu, why did you speak up for Miss Qiao today? Your clear support for her like this seems to be a first time!”
He clearly knew that the person who leaked the information was Qiao Yin, yet he told Madam Lu that it wasn’t her.
“Because I don’t want my mother to continue to make trouble with her, such troubles only lead to mutual losses.”
“I thought it’s because you noticed Miss Qiao’s feelings for you, and hence, started helping her.”
Lu Lingche paused momentarily, “You think she likes me too?”
His use of the word “too” made the assistant laugh, “President Lu, Miss Qiao’s attack on Lan’s Hospital is definitely related to you. She’s probably upset that Miss Lan has stolen you from her, hence she’s taking revenge?”
Lu Lingche nodded his head.
That was what he thought too, even though Qiao Yin denied it.
She already despises Lan Yuyi so much that she wished her dead. Apart from him, there shouldn’t be any other reason.
For some reason, the thought that she might be causing trouble for Lan Yuyi and Lan’s Hospital because she likes him, inexplicably improved his mood.
The assistant could tell that he seemed in good spirits, and couldn’t help asking, “President Lu, where are we going?”
“To see Qiao Yin.”
“You helped Miss Qiao today, she must be happy!”
Lu Lingche gave a faint smile and climbed into the car.
When the car arrived at Qiao Yin’s place, he looked at the lights on the second floor but did not go up.
It wasn’t until after eleven o’clock, when all the lights were out, that he got out of the car and went upstairs.
The combination lock was no barrier to him, he easily opened the door and went in.
At this time, Qiao Yin was still awake.
Upon hearing the opening of the door, her first reaction was to turn off her computer – on the screen, Dongfang Mu was sending her new project details via crisis hacker network and her ID was brightly labeled “Godkiller.”
Then, she quickly took a needle in hand and lightly moved towards the living room.
Her grandmother was already asleep and all the lights in the house were switched off, leaving the living room in darkness.
Blending into the darkness, Qiao Yin, guided by the faint moonlight, saw a shadow approaching. She estimated the head position of the intruder and struck swiftly.
However, the intruder reacted even faster, grabbing her wrist firmly.
“Qiao Yin.”
The deep and usual indifferent voice sounded, “Planning to stab me again?”
Qiao Yin had some regrets, she shouldn’t have taken a needle as it was so dark and she couldn’t see anything clearly. She should have grabbed a rolling pin to hit him with instead.
The needle in her hand was taken and discarded, her wrist still held in a tight grip.
Worried about waking her grandmother, she whispered, “Let go!”
Lu Lingche didn’t let go. Instead, he dragged her into her bedroom and closed the door.
Qiao Yin was relieved. The moment he entered the door, she had a gut feeling it was him, so she had immediately turned off her computer.
Otherwise, her identity as Godkiller would have been exposed.
“Lu Lingche, can you not show up at my house unannounced in the middle of the night? You’ll scare someone to death.”
“So should I come during the day?”
“Even worse during the day!”
“What about evenings?”
“You shouldn’t come at any time!”
“I helped you today, shouldn’t you thank me?”
Qiao Yin frowned, “What did you help me with?”
“My mother and Yuyi wanted to find out who leaked the information about Lan Ruikang’s affair. I covered for you.”
Qiao Yin became suspicious, “Why would you cover for me?”
“To prevent your newly opened medical clinic from being driven out of business.”
“My clinic won’t go out of business. My grandmother is a skilled doctor, and there are plenty of patients coming for her! On the other hand, isn’t your sweetheart’s hospital on the brink of bankruptcy? Scandal after scandal, are there still patients who wants to go there?”
In the dim light, Lu Lingche pinched her chin, whispered in her ear, “Stop calling her my sweetheart, I don’t like that term.”
