Morning arrived gently, the soft golden light filtering through the curtains of Raelynn's bedroom. The quiet rustling of fabric and the faint clinking of glass signaled Hera's presence. As Raelynn stirred, blinking away the remnants of sleep, she turned her head slightly to see Hera preparing fresh bandages on the nightstand.

"How are you feeling today, Raelynn?" Hera asked, her voice calm and soothing as she approached the bed.

Raelynn stretched her arms above her head, letting out a small sigh. "I'm fine," she mumbled before lowering her gaze to her leg, which was still wrapped in bandages. She then looked up at Hera, hesitating before asking, "Has Elion already left for work?"

Hera nodded as she carefully unwrapped the old bandages. "Yes, he left quite early this morning."

Raelynn didn't know why she expected a different answer. It had been three days now, and Elion had left before she woke up and returned long after she had fallen asleep. He was always busy, but before, he still managed to show up in her room, even if it was just for a moment. Now, he was nowhere to be seen. She bit the inside of her cheek, shaking her head slightly as if scolding herself for even thinking about it.

"It seems like he's really busy," she murmured, attempting to sound indifferent.

Hera gave her a polite smile, not commenting further as she continued tending to Raelynn's injury.

The rest of the day passed in an unremarkable haze. Raelynn went about her usual activities—reading, walking a little around the mansion, even watching the rain drizzle outside her window—but there was an undeniable hollowness in her chest. It was ridiculous. She was fine before Elion ever started appearing so frequently in her life, so why did it suddenly feel strange now that he wasn't around?

By late afternoon, Raelynn found herself in the library, curled up on the couch with an open book resting on her lap. The words blurred together, her thoughts elsewhere. She wasn't sure how long she sat there, aimlessly flipping through the pages, before the weight of exhaustion pulled her eyelids shut.

A soft voice broke through the silence.

"Raelynn."

She stirred slightly, groggily shifting on the couch.

"Raelynn."

The voice was deeper this time, warm and familiar. Slowly, she opened her eyes, blinking in confusion.

"Elion?" she mumbled, still half-asleep. She felt an odd sensation—lightness. The couch beneath her no longer felt as firm, and when she shifted, she realized she wasn't on it anymore. Instead, she was wrapped in warmth, her head resting against something solid and comforting.

She tilted her head up, and there he was. Elion. Holding her in his arms as he walked down the halls of the mansion.

Her drowsy mind took a moment to catch up. "Wait… why—why are you carrying me?"

"You fell asleep in the library," he replied simply, his voice smooth as ever. "I figured you'd be more comfortable in bed."

Raelynn blinked again, still half in a daze. She looked around, realizing they were indeed heading toward her bedroom. The dim glow of the mansion's lamps cast soft shadows on Elion's face, highlighting his sharp jawline and the slight curve of his lips. He looked… calm. Unbothered. As if carrying her like this was the most natural thing in the world.

She swallowed, suddenly aware of how close they were. "Oh… You're home early," she noted, her voice quieter than she intended.

Elion's lips twitched into the smallest smile. "For you, I am."

Her heart stuttered in her chest. A warm, unfamiliar feeling bloomed inside her, catching her completely off guard.

"…Liar," she muttered, looking away.

It's been three days.

Three days since he had walked away. And now here he was, acting like nothing had happened.

Raelynn pressed her lips together, resisting the urge to call him out on it. Did he seriously just decide to disappear and then show up with that same unreadable expression, as if everything was normal?

Not that he owed her anything. It wasn't like he had a responsibility to be around her. But still…

She had tried to find him over the past few days, her curiosity gnawing at her. Every time she asked Hera, the woman would just smile knowingly and say, "It's no use. He's not here." And of course, she was right. No matter where Raelynn looked, she never even caught a glimpse of Elion.

Yet now, when she had finally given up, he showed up as if he'd never been gone.

She clenched her hands into fists, forcing herself to stay calm. She wouldn't ask. Wouldn't give him the satisfaction of knowing she had even noticed his absence.

Elion chuckled softly, a deep sound that sent a strange flutter through her stomach. He didn't respond, only tightening his grip slightly as he stepped into her bedroom. Gently, he placed her onto the bed, his movements careful and precise. Raelynn looked up at him as he pulled the blanket over her, and for a moment, neither of them spoke.

Then, before she could say anything else, Elion suddenly vanished.

Her eyes widened in shock. "Wha—"

And just like that, Raelynn jolted awake.

She sat up abruptly, her heart pounding in her chest. The dim glow of the library lamps surrounded her, the book she had been holding slipping from her lap onto the couch.

Raelynn blinked, her breath still uneven as she tried to shake off the remnants of the dream.

She wasn't in her room.

It was… a dream.

She blinked rapidly, still trying to process what had just happened. Her fingers curled slightly against the fabric of her dress as she inhaled deeply, trying to shake off the lingering warmth of his touch.

A dream. It had only been a dream.

She let out a small, breathy laugh at herself, shaking her head. "I must be losing my mind," she muttered under her breath, rubbing her temple.

Yet, despite knowing it wasn't real, the hollow feeling in her chest remained.
